If you drop a story in the comments below, or want to be interviewed, ask! We'll check out your stories, and add you to our list!

3. Raggedy Apple

1. How did you find Movellas?

I found Movellas through someone I follow on Instagram, actually. She posted a story on here and I would click the link to read it. The next thing I know, I decided to make my own account and read other Movellas on here.

2. How did you come up with your username? Is there any significance to it?

I came up with my username because I'm a pretty big Whovian (fan of Doctor Who). The "Raggedy" part came from "Raggedy Man" or "Raggedy Doctor" and the "Apple" part came from Matt Smith's first episode where he goes "Apples are rubbish, I hate apple" to young Amy Pond.

3. What are some of the reasons you started to write?

I started to write because a few years ago my cousin and I tried to write our own story and it didn't really work. But I loved the idea of coming up with different plots and settings that I wanted to write some more. And I think writing also helped me with school a lot because Language Arts is one of my favorite classes (along with band).

4. Where do you come up with inspiration?

Anything, basically. Whenever I'm doing something and a particular thing stands out, an idea would pop into my mind. Whether it's watching tv or just walking around town. Sometimes music can also be an insipiration. Whenever I'm writing a chapter for something, I would probably be listening to music to set the tone of what it is I'm writing.

5. What is your favorite genre(s) to read and write?

Well, to read I would have to go with sci-fi/fantasy or romance. To write, I've written a lot of fanfiction, but as a real genre I'd have to go with again sci-fi/fantasy.

6. What are some of you favorite books and why?

Ugh!!! This is hard!!! Well, some of my favorites include "Maximum Ride" series by James Patterson, "The Mortal Instruments" series by Cassandra Clare, the "Percy Jackson and the Olympian" and "Heroes of Olympus" series by Rick Riordan, "Harry Potter" series, "Matched" trilogy by Ally Condle, "The Selection" trilogy by Kiera Cass, "Divergent" trilogy, and anything by John Green (mostly "Looking For Alaska"). And currently, I'm reading "The Hobbit" by J.R.R. Tolkiens.

7. Tell us some of your favorite things (songs, animals, food, etc.)

Well, my favorite animal is a penguin hands down. I loved penguins for a very long time (it was even my username for a while). My favorite song changes a lot, but right now it's "I'm A Mess" by Ed Sheeran. My favorite food is pasta salad or a chicken cassarole my mom makes. My favorite singer is a tie between Taylor Swift and Ed Sheeran. My favorite movie was "The Fault In Our Stars". My favorite band...I have more than one so One Direction, Maroon 5, 5 Seconds of Summer, and Imagine Dragons. And my favorite sport is baseball and basketball.

8. What is your favorite Movella you have written? Why is it your favorite? And where did the idea come from?

Gosh this is a tough one. But I have to say my favorite Movella I've written was "Little Talks". It's my favorite because I haven't read a lot of stories that take place on a cruise, so it's a change in setting. Also because it helped establish my writing style a little. The idea actually came from watching "The Suite Life On Deck" and how Zack and Cody had jobs on the S.S. Tipton while attending school on the ship. The rest of the story just popped into my head at different times.

9. What is some advice you would give to others about writing?

Write what you want to write. If you have an idea, go for it. Some people might not like what you write about, but just know that there are others who do and if you enjoy writing what you write, keep on writing. And just be yourself. You don't have to write like everyone else. Everyone has their own way of writing.
