Hi! We are starting the interviews off with our own personal ones. We will each be asking our favorite authors to be interviewed. So, here's mine:
1. How did you find Movellas?
I found Movellas when I was searching for an online writing community! I found exactly what I was looking for!
2. How did you come up with your username? Is there any significance to it?
My username is just my real name with two extra n's at the end because 'Kierstin' doesn't look nearly as fly as 'Kierstinnn'.
3. What are some of the reasons that you started to write?
I was nominated for a creative writing class in my seventh grade year. I continued it into eighth grade and then just kind of continued.
4. Where do you come up with inspiration?
Absolutely everywhere. There isn't a place I go that I don't think of something that could make a good story.
5. What is your favorite genre(s) to read and to write?
Romance is a huge one for writing. As for reading, I'll read anything. My room is like a library (a very small one, though :( ) and it has autobiographies, science books, romance books, and so many more!
6. What are some of your favorite books and why?
My favorite book is Looking For Alaska, by John Green. I can reread it over and over again and never get bored! I also really like Catch 22, and I never thought I would. It took me days to get through it, but I did. I also really like Edgar Allen Poe. The Monkey's Paw is probably my favorite by him.
7. Tell us about some of your other favorite things (songs, animal, food, etc).
Well, I'm a huge music fan. I am all over the spectrum when it comes to music. I listen to pop, country, some rap, and hard rock. Plus many more. I can find songs from basically every genre that I like. Right now, my favorite song is Amnesia by 5sos. Though, next week that will probably change. It often does.
8. What is your favorite Movella you have written? Why is it your favorite? And where did the idea come from?
My favorite story that I've written is no doubt A Tea Filled Summer. It is my prized piece of writing. It's my favorite because it reflects a lot of things in my life, and I really think it's just well-written. The idea came from my boyfriend, who always is buying me tea. While Aaryn is almost nothing like myself (we both work in a pharmacy and are going to be doctors are really all that we have in common), Alexander is highly based off of my boyfriend. Max is based off of my own little brother and there are plenty of other things inspired by my life.
9. What is some advice you would give to others about writing?
My biggest piece of advice is, as always, write for yourself and not others. It doesn't matter how many favorites or reads you get. Those are nice, yes. But, does it really matter? Not as long as you're happy with your story.
Also, keep chill whenever someone else gives you CC. They aren't being mean, they're helping. Take the advice. :D
