"Oh, yeah! Yeah! YEAH! You did it, Kirby!" Magolor cheered, his hands in the air. "The Lor is back in business!" He looked around. "The oars, both wings, the emblem, the mast...Yep, it's all there! The moment I've been waiting for--it's here! You're my hero!"
Kirby and his friends all cheered--except Waddle Dee, who was still unconscious.
Just then, Magolor noticed Waddle Dee. "Waddle Dee...he's hurt!"
"It's okay," said Kirby. "We can only hope there's a medical center in your Starcutter."
"Yes there is," said Magolor. "And a promise is a promise. I owe you a trip to my homeworld. A trip to...Halcandra!"
Kirby sighed. If only Waddle Dee could enjoy the trip...
"Halcandra exists in another dimension," Magolor continued. "It's super far away, but the Lor, fit as it is, can fly us there in the blink of an eye!"
Kirby tried to force a smile, but his worries about Waddle Dee were hard to ignore.
"Pack some snacks, Kirby," said Magolor. "We're off to Halcandra!" He turned around and activated the ship's engines. Just the sound of them thrilled him.
And the ship blasted off.
King Dedede and Meta Knight stayed by the window as Kirby followed Magolor to the medical center.
"My robots will tend to your friend," said Magolor. He laid Waddle Dee on a hospital bed and tucked him in. "Just let him rest, and enjoy the ride. My robots will have him fixed up in no time. Tell you what: I'll slow the ship down to give him time to recover, so he can hope to enjoy the rest."
This calmed Kirby down. "Sleep tight, Waddle Dee," Kirby whispered as he left with Magolor.
"I made it," he said once he got back. "What's there to see?"
"Oh, nothing much," said Meta Knight. "Just jewels floating around outer space. Once we enter the planet there's sure to be something cooler."
Kirby gazed at the starlit dimension. This was much more than Meta Knight had claimed it to be.
Just then the ship entered Halcandra's atmosphere with a slight jolt. It wasn't anything near what Kirby expected to see. The sky was a blackish-orange with black mists encircling its atmosphere. Volcanoes appeared occasionally, and tangled vines grew out of the ground instead of trees and lava, not water, flowed through the stream.
Just then Waddle Dee came in. "Turned out there wasn't much to do. They just had to wait for me to gain consciousness again. I was already starting to heal when the robots tended to me and scanned me for any marks."
Kirby rushed over and hugged his friend. It was good to be back. To see his best friend, alive and well...
"Waddle Dee, we've just passed the atmosphere to Halcandra. I've got to admit, it's definitely not how I thought it would be--uh, hold on."
A 4-headed dragon was sleeping in the distance--the Grand Doomer's mysterious boss! It opened it's glowing eyes, now fixed on the Starcutter. If the Grand Doomer can't destroy him, it thought, then I will!
Magolor rushed over to the cockpit to activate the laser cannons, but it was too late. The dragon's fire sent the ship plummeting toward the ground.
Kirby wasn't sure how many minutes had passed before he woke up.
The impact of the crash had knocked everyone out. Now sirens blared as everyone else got up one by one.
Magolor scrambled up to the gigantic screen, with alien text above a large, red exclamation mark. It showed everyone what had happened: the dragon had spotted the ship and fired three fireballs, bringing it to the ground. Magolor gasped at the sight.
"Kirby...that dragon...it's name is Landia," he said. "It's lived on this planet for ages, but it's always been fast asleep. Recently, however, it awoke and went on a rampage! I know I've asked so much of you...you've come near death so many times...Go home. Find an escape pod. I know you won't want to risk your lives for me for the umpteenth time..." Magolor started to cry.
"Don't worry, Magolor," said Kirby. "Of course we'll help you!"
Once again, Kirby and his friends were ready to help. Our friends will cross through even more adventures, through volcanoes, anvils, and even space battles.
Wherever the path leads, they will be ready.
