31. The Trip To Hogwarts

The Trip To Hogwarts

"Hey Mione, have a seat.", Ron offered me as I entered the compartment.
However, his eyes narrowed, as Draco entered behind me.
"Is he the reason, you spent your christmas neither with us nor your family?", he complained and I nodded.
His face fell and the smile vanished completely. He was that Ron again. The cold hearted, distanced Ron. I sighed heavily but let myself fall onto the seat next to him nevertheless. Draco sat down next to me and took my hand, stroking it gently.
"Are you back at Hogwarts now, Draco?", Ron asked the obvious question, trying to keep his voice from shaking.
"Yes, Ron. I am back at Hogwarts.", he replied grinning, obviously enjoying the situation.
Harry's face looked exactly how I felt, slightly embarrassed. Ron scowled and Draco smiled happily.
"Do your parents allow your relationship then?", he wanted to know, while looking at us, as if the answer wasn't obvious.
"Under certain circumstances.", Draco explained neutrally.

"Ugh, boys. You're really annoying.", I let Draco and Ron know, when we arrived at Hogwarts.
They have been fighting all the time. Draco smirked, obviously satisfied and Ron glared at the ground as we exited the train. However, I really felt sorry for Ron and decided to do something for our friendship.
"C'mon Ron, let's take this carriage.", I suggested and pointed at the one nearest to us.
He nodded and let me get in first. I smiled at him when he sat down opposite to me and closed the carriage.
"What's about Draco?", he asked confused.
"He tortured you enough, I think.", I explained and smiled at him.
Ron smiled too, for the first time since he had seen Draco. We spent the time on talking about their Quidditch highs and lows. Ron exited the carriage first and heaped me out. Draco didn't look too pleased, as he strode past us, not even looking at me. He was angry, angry because I preferred Ron's friendship over our relationship. It made me sad, thinking about it that way but I couldn't help it. I'd rather be friends with Harry and Ron than being Draco's girlfriend.
