"My thoughts will echo your name until I see you again." -Taylor Swift
I'm crowded. Clustered between numerous female bodies as I try to make my way through the giant crowd. Screams and frantic speaking is all I hear around me.
I'm overwhelmed. I can barely breathe with the amount of people surrounding me. It's all so new and I feel like I stick out like a sore thumb.
I'm scared. I've gone through all of this...change and what if I still don't see him.
"Hey!" A deep husky voice bellowed. I snapped my head to see a big man wearing black, shouting over the sea of people. I gulped and head towards him, holding up the wrist holding the colored band.
"Go ahead" he grubbed out and sent me on me on my way. I was pushed around and I whimpered at the loss of a gentle touch.
Shouts...so many shouts.
"One Direction! One Direction!"
"Ahhhh, Niall baby!"
"Over here Harry!"
It's been five springs since I've seen him and as I push my way through I grunt out in frustration.
"How are you all doing tonight?" That's what I heard before the loud screams pierced my ears. I felt tears of anger pour down my cheeks. I don't know why but I was just so...mad.
I pushed through bodies to the nearest restroom and hid in there for what felt like hours. I looked at my disheveled self in the mirror and sighed. My curls madded and my eyes dimmed.
And this was me.
This is how I changed to be.
Slowly and then all at once I became mortal. My essence spilling out of me like a flood. I cried in pain and my mother was there the entire time, crying with me. Once I turned, I was banned from Olympus.
I couldn't have been able to survive, not even with the help of my parents. I begged my father to change me back, telling him that Harry was gone and there was no point in me becoming human, but he could do nothing about it. He told me, before I left, to make it count. He made sure I was put where I needed to be and then left me there.
He gave me all things necessary to see Harry again and yet here I am in a bathroom echoing the name of a lost love.
I left the restroom and left the place all at once. I didn't know where to go or what to expect so my fear was at an all time high. The streets were dark and no one was around. It made me think I was in that restroom longer than I thought. I walked and walked, until my feet were sore and I saw the same street sign twice. I collapsed against the signs pole and began to sob.
I wanted my mother. I wanted my father. Immortality sucks.
In truth, immortality would suck less if I had Harry with me.
And then...it started to rain. It rained and I cursed Zeus for the angry lighting in the sky.
Suddenly, as if the water brought it on, my throat began to burn and my eyes dried. Not now. Please not now.
I coughed and coughed and the last of my essence, the very last drop, spattered out of my throat. I was weak and finally, completely, mortal.
"Are you alright?"
I blinked open my eyes and looked up at the shadowed figure.
I opened my mouth to speak but my airway was restricted and then exhaustion washed over me and there was darkness.
I didn't dream. I screamed... and screamed.
I whimpered and shot my eyes open. The room was dim and strange while the women above me seemed pristine.
"Shh shh. You're alright."
"Where...Where am I?" My voice was scratchy but more lubricated then its been since I was forced to live on this dumb earth.
"You're in my hotel room" another more manly, sooting voice spoke. I looked over to see man with brown scruffy hair and an even scruffier beard. I shook my head and started to sit up, hoping to get out of the strangers presence.
"No, honey, you need to rest. You're very sick."
"Let me go" I whimpered, backing away from her.
"Liam here tells me you were left in the rain. Do you remember how you got there."
I gulped and looked down at my lap. "I was tired."
"Where's you home? Your parents?"
Tears fell down my face. "I don't have any."
"Do you remember where you last seen them?"
Lie. "I don't know."
"You remember where you were going?"
"What's your name, sweetie" she said in a softer tone.
Truth. "I don't know" I cried out, bursting into tears.
I can't be myself again because I'd never live up to it.
The man across the room, Liam, suddenly got up and pulled out his phone. "Stop messaging me" he snapped, his brow furrowing.
"I'm in my room for crying out loud. No. Something came up. If you're so worried then just knock on the damn door."
I looked back at the nurse and quietly spoke to her. "I feel fine now. I should go."
"Liam payed me for a couple more hours" she quickly said back.
"No, I'm fine." I got out of the warm, thick blankets and let my feet touch the floor before taking a deep breath and attempting to stand up. The lady grabbed onto my arm and made me sit again.
"Please...let me just get your temperature and then you can go." She brought a white stick type thing from her little black bag. "Under your tongue."
I sat there impatiently with my fingers weaved in my lap. Liam left and then I heard a door open. "Your girlfriend's been blowing up my phone. Liam, you had us worried."
I heard a laugh and then Liam say, "Sorry, mate, something happened on my way back from Niall's food run. Check it out." I heard their footsteps as they came closer the bedroom. "I found her in the rain. I called the physician and-"
Nothing. Else. Mattered.
As soon as I saw him all I felt was my chest burst and the stick thing fall out of my mouth.
His eyes landed on me but I shifted mine to the floor before I could see his reaction.
"She doesn't even know her name."
I peeked up through my lashes to see him staring with wide eyes and a gaped mouth...at me.
"V..." he whispered.
And then I ran my eyes over him. Everything about. Everything...was different.
I shook my head and stood up. "I really should go" I croaked to the lady. I quickly paced passed Harry with my head down and left out of the room with the heavy door. I was in a hall, not knowing where to go, but knowing I had to get out of there.
I started to run.
"Wait, please. I haven't seen-" then his hand was on my wrist. I turned and yanked it away.
"No!" I shouted. "I don't know you!"
He frowned and slowly let go of me. "It's me...Harry."
"You are a liar. You are not him."
"And that is not my name."
"What are you-"
"You're not Harry" I whispered, tears brimming in my eyes.
"Are you blind?" he finally said in frustration, "I'm right here."
"This" I said, trailing my finger down his arm and then down his shirt. "Is not Harry."
"Well a lot can happen in-"
"Not even your eyes are the same" I whimpered and finally just cried.
"V, you left and I haven't-"
"I don't know you! I became human for Harry and you are not him!"
Nothing. All of it. For nothing.
A/N: A little short but very important. Hopefully you caught everything. I'd love to read your thoughts! I feel like the chapter was kind of sucky but I really wanted to get it out to you guys by tonight.
