"Wow, I love that dress on you, are you new here?" The front desk secretary to Park's office stood up to admire my new look, but without surprise, she had not recognized me, "You must be the new secretary to take over the last one,"
"What do you mean?" I asked aggravatingly. She smirked horribly and crossed one arm over her chest and rested her other arm in an upright position where her fingers rubbed against her lips.
"Some nobody came in out of the blue, 19, with such a horrible background and no college degree. I wouldn't be surprised if she was thrown away from her stupidity," She laughed out loud from her simple remark without realizing she was facing that same very problem. After a few moments of silence, Park stepped out of an elevator from behind me and the secretary quickly took her seat, "Hello, Mr. Johnson, you have an interview meeting scheduled with a Jayden... Palmer?"
She read the full name slowly as if she was trying very hard to recognize the name until it slipped her mind that she was the one who showed me to my new office.
"Let's proceed, Miss. Palmer," Park's accomplished, sly smile powdered every inch of his face. The secretary was left speechless and confused. She was shocked when she remembered everything she had said to her. She felt her whole world falling on top of her as if she new she were about to lose her job.
"Now that you have seen what I can do for you, are you now prepared to face the same issues from the past? Ignore ignorance. People have taken you for granted in ways that I'm glad they did, otherwise you wouldn't be rocking on the most expensive ship ever built to mankind," He walked around me while stroking my long, clean curly brown hair. I shuttered from his every touch of confidence, "Now that I have you, we can dominate anything that's in our way and I can grant you everlasting revenge against the ones who abused you,"
"Why are you doing this for me? I don't understand," I looked into his eyes once again as he stopped in front of me. I held my tears well inside to hide that I was feeling more love than a queen upon a balcony in front of her people.
"Jayden, even you take yourself for granted. I told you my story, so I'm doing this out of a relation you share with me just from another world," His powerful stance left me without words that I could not speak.
Although I could not stand the look of pity in his eyes that he gave to me, I found that I could not deny it like a wet puppy stranded on the side of the road. I knew he was right and his support was the only thing keeping me alive. It's a harsh world out there and it will only continue to play an unfair game. Competition and intuition were bound to suppress each other in a way so unfair that only we can fight fire with the same fire that our competitors burn and I knew very well that I am that very key to starting that same burning fire by applying the faces to those who took me for an incredible amount of grant.
