I woke up this morning ready to leave. I decided that I will do my goodbye show in Chicago. I reached the airport early so I wouldn't bump into anyone on the way.
'Flight 209 heading to Chicago Illinois is now boarding' The PA said. I walked quickly to the line. The flight attendant took my ticket and I went on the plane.
I sat down in my seat and put my headphones on waiting on the plane to take flight. Looking out the window I see familiar faces heading towards the plane. I rolled my eyes and closed my eyes shut.
I woke up from a shaking movement and the sound of talking. I fluttered my eyes open and it was Angie.
“Were going to land in 20 minutes.” She said.
“Okay.” I said. I sat up and looked out the window.
“Milan, I am sorry.” Angie said and I looked at her.
“You shouldn’t be sorry Angie. I lost everything and I just think its just best for me to leave and go back to my normal life.” I replied.
“You still got me. I am never going to leave your side no matter what. Just know that I got your back.” She said smiling.
“Thank you. Just don’t forget to visit me when you guys are in Florida.” I stated she laughed.
The plane landed and we went our separate ways. I checked into the hotel and I was sharing a room with Angie. I opened the door and find Angie doing yoga.
“It took you long enough.” She said standing up.
“So I guess you don’t want any hot pockets then.” I said waving the boxy back and forth.
“You came right on time, now can you give me the hot pockets please?” She asked and of course I gave in. I rolled my suitcase to my room and plopped on the bed. I took out my laptop and looked for jobs since I am not working for WWE anymore.
After 20 minutes of scrolling I came across a Starbucks job near the house.
I picked up my phone and dialed the number. After a couple of rings I finally hear a person’s voice coming from the other line.
Hello my name is Amber, how may I help you?
Hello Amber, I was just wondering if you have a spot for a new worker.
Yes I do actually. Are you applying?
Yes I am
Okay just email me your resume and I will schedule an interview.
Thank you very much Amber.
No problem, Have a nice day.
Thanks you too.
I hanged up the phone with a smile on my face and changed into some comfortable clothes. When I mean by comfortable I mean a T-shirt and sweatpants.
I walked into the living room seeing Angie eating hot pockets… as usual.
“Shit these are hot!” She shouted. I shook my head.
“They are called ‘Hot pockets’ for a reason.” I said sitting next to her.
“Thanks captain obvious.” She said taking another bite.
“So I found a job.” I said she looked at me and smiled.
“Where?” She asked.
“Starbucks.” I answered.
“But what happened to Marc? It seemed like you really loved it there at the club.” She said.
“I did but I am going to get homesick like all the time. I’d rather serve people coffee than having very long nights singing.” I explained. It became silent.
“It’s not going to be the same without you Milan.” She blurted out.
“I know it not but I’ve got to do what I’ve got to do Angie. I am sorry you have to hear this but it just needs to happen.” I said. She nodded. I looked at the time it was time for us to head to the arena.
“Well I guess it’s time for RAW.” She said in a low tone. I sighed and headed to the room and prepared my duffle bag.
“You ready to go?” Angie asked already dressed. I nodded and we headed off.
We reached the arena about 3 hours before the show started. Angie parked the car and I looked at her.
“Let’s just make tonight special okay?” I asked smiling. She smiled back and hugged me tightly. We got out of the car, grabbed our duffle bags and headed to the divas lock room.
We both walked in and all the divas were clapping. I was confused but happy at the same time. Nattie came up first and started to speak.
“This is from all the divas Milan. You came here with a smile on your face. You fought a lot of battle in your life that shocked both the men’s and women’s locker room. It’s sad that you have to go but we will all understand your choices.” She said. My eyes began to tear up and I didn’t know what to say.
“Thank you guys for being there for me, I love each-h and every-y one of you. I was so grateful to be working with such strong women. So thanks all of you and I wish you all the best.” I said. All the divas had a group hug and got ready for the show.
I walked out of the locker room heading to Angie’s lock room when my phone started to ring.
Hello is this Milan?
Yes, who is this?
It’s Amber from Starbucks; I called you to just tell you that your interview is on Wednesday at 3pm.
Thanks you very much Amber. I will be there.
Okay see you soon.
I hanged up the phone and ran to Angie’s locker room to tell her the great news.
“Why so happy?” Angie asked right when I closed the door.
“I got the interview!” I shouted. Angie clapped her hands and hugged me.
“I am so happy for you.” She said pulling away.
“Yeah, so when you have shows in Orlando you can stop by and get some coffee made by yours truly.” I said plopping onto the couch.
I looked up at the screen and I see Seth, Dean, and Roman doing a promo. But there was something different about this promo. Usually Roman is the quiet one and Dean and Seth are the ones talking.
“What’s with Colby?” I asked.
“Roman and Dean are trying to figure out the same thing. They said he has been acting weird and hasn’t been himself too.” She replied. I looked back at the screen and they were already gone.
There was a knock on the door. Angie opened it and it was the stage manager.
“Milan, you’re on.” He said and walked away. I took a deep breath and proceeded to the gorilla.
“You thought I wasn’t going to be by my best friend’s side for her last match?” Angie asked from behind. I chuckled.
My music blared and I walked out with Angie. I stood at the top of the ramp and looked out to the crowd watching them as they roar my name. I walked to the ring while Lillian introduced me.
Angie and I stood in the middle of the ring while I wait for my final opponent to come out.
“Milan since it’s your last match why not leave with a bang? So you will be in a tables match and your opponent is…” Were the last words Stephanie said from the titantron. I looked at the ramp. My eyes widen as Tamina walked down the ring with a huge grin on her face.
Skipping to the end of the match.
After 20 minutes of brutal hits from ladders. Tamina was climbing up a ladder. I looked around the ring for a ladder. I spotted one and placed it near the ladder Tamina was climbing on.
I climbed up the ladder and Tamina was standing right on top. The audience was covering their faces not even bothering to look at the scene. I threw punches at her until she was weak enough to put her on my shoulders. We both looked down and realized how far up we were from the ring.
I took a deep breath faced the ladder and let gravity take me where I need to be. Tamina’s back hit the ladder hard as I realized that I just power bombed Tamina off a 12 foot ladder. I rolled onto my back and took a breather before I went for the pin. I crawled to a knocked put Tamina, used the last bit of force I had left to lift up her leg and listened as the referee counted to 3.
“The winner of this match as a result of a pin fall Milan!” Lilian announced. The referee held my arm up and the audience roared in excitement. Angie came into the ring and hugged me tightly. I looked over to Tamina and decided to help her up. She looked confused a first but smiled after. We hugged each other tightly.
“I am going to miss you girly.” She whispered into my ear. I chuckled. The crowed awed.
“I am going to miss you too.” I whispered back. We pulled away and she left the ring. I grabbed a microphone not even saying anything yet the crowd was chanting ‘Please don’t go’ I was starting to tear up.
“Listen guys I know you guys don’t want me to go but I think it’s best for me to leave and have a normal life again. I love being on the road and being able to wrestle to put smiles on your faces but I just couldn’t handle all what has happened before. So I just want to say… Thank you to everyone especially Angie.” I finished my goodbye speech and everyone clapped. I looked around the arena and see disappointed but smiles on people’s faces. I got out the ring and headed towards the locker room.
As usual when someone leaves the WWE everyone lines up and claps for you. I smiled at everyone and walked back to the divas locker room to get going to the hotel so I wouldn’t miss my flight. I got to the car and started to put my bag in the trunk.
I was about to head to the driver’s side of the car when I heard footsteps coming from behind. I ignored it and continued to walk when I heard my name being called.
I looked back and see a figure running up to me. I looked closer and I see a bit a blonde. I closed my eyes a little hoping it wasn’t Colby. I opened my eyes and see him slowing down in front of me.
“Can you hear me out please?” He asked trying to catch his breath.
“Sure.” I said quietly. He looked down then looked back up.
“I am sorry, and I understand why you are leaving and I am respecting that. It might not be the same anymore but I’ll get through it… I’ll miss you.” He said almost like whispers.
“You don’t need to be sorry Colby, Its okay. Just pretend I don’t exist okay. I just need to escape and being back home having a regular is my escape pln. Colby, just focus on your career and do what’s best for Seth Rollins. Don’t think I am not going to watch you even though we are not together or in the ring. I am still going to support you.” I explained. I smiled and started to walk to the driver’s seat.
“Bye Milan-n.” He stuttered.
“Bye Colby.” I said opening the car door, I stopped.
“Colby?” I said. He turned back.
“Yeah.” He said turning around.
“I’ll miss you too.” I said. He smiled and left.
