Losing Your Memory

The damage is done, the police are coming too slow now, I would have died, I would have loved you all my life, you're losing your memory now.

1. Who Am I?

Who am I? I'm a 16 year old girl from a small town in England. Not many people know this town, nor do many people live here. The population is a three digit number, and about 50% of the population is over the age of 45.

My names Rebekah, but only people who want to lose their tongues call me that, I'm more commonly known as 'Bex' or 'Bekah'. I'm more or less like every other teen in this town, except for one thing. But I can't tell you that, I can't tell anyone that. Last time I told someone they abandoned me in a heartbeat, and they were supposed to be the one who would never leave me. My parents. That was about 5 years ago, since then I've lived with my grandmother. She doesn't even notice my existence anymore. A couple of months ago I walked into the kitchen to make myself dinner, like I do everyday, and she almost called the police thinking I was an intruder. We're pretty sure she's losing her memory. By we I mean me. No one else gives a crap about anyone other than themselves around here. Everyone except me. I give too many craps about other people. That's one of my many faults, I care too much. If I didn't I'd be like other people, well remotely close anyway. But I do, and I can't help it.

Someone once told me I got that off my mother, I wouldn't know, I can't remember much about her. Other than her eyes. Her eyes were to die for, the bluest blue, like the ocean and the sky all mixed into one. They were the blue you would get lost in, time would fly like a heartbeat when you looked into them. I'm not lucky enough to have gotten them. My eyes are brown. An extremely dark brown that people often mistake as a black colour. But not many people tell me that, that would involve caring.
