As my eyes snapped opened I saw I was back in Harry’s room. What just happened? Was that all just some kind of dream? No, it can’t just be a dream. It all seemed to real. Maybe a little too real.
“Arielle your ok!” Harry exclaimed, pulling me into a bone crushing hug.
“Ya, I’m alright but what just happened?” I asked, still confused.
“Oh, well I may have taken a bit too much blood from you and you passed out. You were out for like two hours,” he explained, causing my eyes to widen. Two hours!?! I was out for two hours! No, that could not have been two hours. I felt more like two minutes!
“You’re lying to me, I was not out for two hour. Please tell me I was not out for two hours!” I begged, getting a sympathetic look from Harry.
“Sorry love, but you were out for a while. I took a lot of blood from you,” he explained, guilt heard in his tone.
“Harry, I think we need to stop all planes of over throwing the kingdom. It’s getting to risky,” I said, getting a wide eyed look from Harry.
“What? Why? We’ve come so far! Why do you just want to give it all up now?” He asked, I only gave him a pleading look.
“Things are getting too dangerous Harry! You heard what they said at that meeting! Any sign of rebellion is an immediate execution! Things are getting too out of hand, we need to quit while we're ahead,” I explained. Harry only stared at me in disbelief.
“What happened to you? What happened to the girl that said you were determined to make the world a better place or you’d die trying? Because honestly, I’m confused. So, please explain to me who you are because you sure as hell aren’t the Arielle Reece I’ve come to know.” And with that he stormed out of the room leaving me stunned.
What just happened? One minute he’s all gentle and concerned the next he’s storming out of the room. I mean maybe that wasn’t exactly the best moment to tell him how I felt but it had to be done. And as selfish as it sounds my freedom was on the line. Not only my freedom, but also my sisters. But how does that make any difference in Harry’s life anyways? He’s already a high and powerful vampire. His freedoms are already unlimited! So why does he care about this plan so much?
My thoughts were interrupted by the sound of a door opening. As my head snapped towards the direction of the door I saw Liam standing in the doorway with a smirk plastered on his face.
“So, I see you have agreed to keep up your end of the deal. I must admit Ariella, I didn’t think you could do it. I honestly didn’t. But nonetheless a deal is a deal and I am a man of my word. By the end of the week I shall grant you your freedom,” he said, with that stupid smirk still plastered on his face. But that’s when I noticed something. A figure standing in the doorway. That’s when all color drained from my face and I realized I had just made the biggest mistake of my life.
