I sat in our studio singing Little Things. Even though it happened three hours ago, I was still mad at Niall, Louis, and Zayn for the way they embarrassed me on the twitcam. I didn't understand why they did it; I mean what have I ever done to them? I heard the door to the studio open, praying it wasn't one of the three. To my relief, it was Liam.
"Everything alright?" He asked.
"No, not really," I replied.
"What's the matter?"
"I dunno... I'm still a little upset."
Was he clueless? "Come on, mate. You know."
"Oh... that." He looked at me for a second. "It's not the end of the world, Harry. I'm sure they didn't mean it."
"Sure," I replied sarcastically.
"Come on, it was supposed to be a joke!"
"Yeah well some people don't like it when you reveal their crush's name in front of five million people," I said, beginning to blush.
"Wait... you actually like her?"
"What did you think?"
"I honestly thought you just thought she was hot or something. I mean, you've never even met her." He had a pretty good point.
"You're right... maybe I should just-"
"VAS HAPPENIN'?!" I was cut off by Zayn, who came running in out of nowhere.
"Maybe she hasn't even seen the video," Liam said.
I gave Liam a quick nod then gazed at Zayn for a minute. "I'm leaving now," I said as I stood up.
"That's probably not the best idea," Zayn responded.
"And why should I listen to you out of all people?" I growled back.
"Just trying to be nice. Plus Louis and Niall are making jokes about you and Lily... and they’re getting kind of nasty.. Listen, I really am sorry about the whole video diary before. I feel really bad and-"
I cut him off, "Save it, Zayn! Just save it!" I stormed out of the studio and ran past Niall and Louis who were in the kitchen. For a split second they looked up to see who it was, but once they saw my agitated face they looked back to what they were doing.
I ran up to my room and slammed the door. I sat on my bed and took out my phone, tapping the twitter icon while rolling my fingers through my hair. Secretly I was praying that what Liam said about Lily not seeing the video was true. My reputation would be ruined for a while if it got out that I actually liked her, the paparazzi would be all over me. I suddenly heard a soft knock at my door.
"What," I growled.
To my disbelief, Louis walked in eating a carrot. Typical. "Ello, mate," he smiled.
"What do you want?"
"I have carrots! Want one?" He held out a large, ten inch carrot in front of my face. Ha. Ten inch.
"Not the time, Lou," I responded, trying to avoid eye contact.
"Ok, what happened?" He asked as he sat down next to me.
"You know exactly what happened." I got up off the bed and went to my window, gazing out over Los Angeles.
"Look, I've been apologizing for the past three hours, what else do you want me to do?!"
"Just go," I begged, not wanting more of his crap.
"Ok, but first I have to tell you something."
"Lily posted a video on Youtube."
"Great, now leave."
"No, you don't understand."
I turned around and faced Louis, waiting for him to go on.
"It's about you, Harry."
I sat in my living room watching TV. Both my parents were at work, so I had the whole house to myself. I normally got bored but I recently began driving so I was able to go out more often. Unfortunantley, I knew nobody here, so I couldn't go out. I wanted to tour the city so bad, but I didn't want to go alone. My mom had promised me soon, but soon normally means six months. The doorbell rang and, assuming it was one of the neighbors, I got up and opened it. A tall girl with brown hair and gray eyes stared at me with a huge smile on her face.
"Can I help you?" I asked.
"Hi! I'm Megan McCaffrey! You must be Lily Matthews!" I soon caught on she was a peppy girl.
"Uh, yeah that's me. Sorry, I don't mean to be rude, but who are you, exactly?"
"Oh! I'm one of the models at Jack Wills! I saw you in the magazine and realized I never met you, so I decided to come over and say hi!"
"Oh, well thanks. Would you like some coffee or something?" I asked, hoping this would be my first real friend here.
"I'd love some!"
Megan followed me inside. I quickly grabbed the remote and shut off the TV, which had The Big Bang Theory on, and poured her a cup of coffee I had just made five minutes before.
"So do you like it here?" She asked, very intrigued.
"Yeah, it's beautiful! The neighborhood is so nice. I've met a few people and they're all pretty nice."
"That's good! So are you excited for the job?"
Excited? That probably wasn't the right word. "I think nervous is more like it," I replied. I loved how easy it was to talk to this girl. We literally just met and I already felt like she was my best friend.
"Nervous? How so?"
"Think about it! What if I mess up? What if I do something wrong and I don’t know it’s wrong? What if the people hate me??"
"Lily, calm down! There’s nothing to be nervous about. The only thing I’d worry about if I were you is Alex..."
"What do you mean?"
"Well.. she isn't the nicest person. Trust me, you don’t want to make her mad."
"I'll keep that in mind," I responded quickly. "So how are the other models? Like, their attitudes and stuff."
"They're not the nicest either... The only reason they’re there is for the money... and to meet One Direction."
"What do they have to do with it?"
"Well, all the girls have a crush on Harry, and they know that it’s his favorite store, so they act all hot and stuff so Harry will 'notice them'. It’s so annoying."
My eyes widened, quickly realizing the situation I was in. "I think he's already noticed someone..."
Megan shot me a look. "WHAT?! WHEN?! WHO?!"
"Yeah, like three hours ago, and... me," I responded, blushing like crazy.
"The boys were doing a twitcam and Niall, Zayn, and Louis kinda let it slip that Harry likes me. Then they showed the camera a picture of me in the magazine.."
Megan's jaw dropped. "What did you do?!"
"I posted a video on YouTube saying I wasn't interested and I hope no rumors would start."
"Not interested?!? Lily! He’s Harry Styles! Do you even like One Direction??"
"I love them! Their music’s fantastic! Just.. I wouldn't date one of them."
"You’re taking a dream that every girl has and you’re throwing it away!"
"I just don’t want anything to happen between us. Even if we meet, maybe it’s best we be friends."
"Did you get a response on your Youtube video?"
"No, but I'm praying I don't get one." That was true. I was afraid of paparazzi ruining my whole career, and I couldn't let that happen. "More coffee?"
