I couldn’t shake the feeling that Katherine and Damon were keeping something from me. I want to ask them, but as of right now, I don’t really care because Klaus is going to kill Elena, and I need to get to her. After a few more minutes of them talking in hushed voices, Damon finally decided that we should leave. I left before him because I wanted to find Elena. When Damon dropped me at home, I waited for him to leave before running to the house that Bonnie was at.
“The sacrifice is completed in stages as the full moon sets. First the werewolf is killed, then the vampire. Finally the doppelganger. Once Elena dies, the curse will be broken. Klaus will become hybrid.” I heard Elijah tell Alaric and Stefan.
“So when do we attack?” Alaric asked.
“Elena’s death will activate his dormant werewolf side. He’ll be vulnerable during the transformation. That’s when Bonnie comes in.” Elijah replied.
“And you’re sure that Bonnie will survive this?” Stefan asked.
“If she can deliver him to the brink of death, I’ll finish the job myself.” Elijah replied as I walked up to them.
Stefan’s phone rung, so he walked off to answer it. He gave me a small smile, which I returned. We waited until he was done before anything else was said. While Stefan was on the phone, he looked over to us, and I knew that the look on his face was not a good sign.
“What is it? What’s wrong?” Alaric asked, and that old me that I wasn’t the only one who knew something was wrong.
After Stefan got off the phone, he told us that Klaus took Jenna. I gasped because Jenna is like my aunt, change that, she is my aunt. Alaric went in to tell Jeremy, so I didn’t have to. I knew that I would completely break, but I knew I had to be strong. Bonnie joined us, and I couldn’t help but hug her. I’ve missed my cousin because since Klaus came into town, we haven’t been able to hang out.
“Why did he take Jenna?” Bonnie asked before I could.
“A punishment for meddling.” Elijah replied.
I was confused because we did everything Klaus asked us to do, well, except Damon.
“Klaus was going to use Tyler and Caroline. But Damon rescued them.” Stefan said while giving me a side glance.
I knew then that Stefan knew that I was taken as well, but he didn’t want to tell Bonnie that. I was grateful for that, but this was not the time.
“Then we need to go. Now. Before Jenna’s been sacrificed. I can kill Klaus myself.” Bonnie said, and I had to agree, but then again, I couldn’t agree because that would kill her.
“Bonnie… If you use that much power, you’ll be dead. We’ve already been through this. It’s not an option.” Stefan told her.
“Neither is letting Jenna die.” Bonnie argued back.
“Well, Stefan would agree with you.” Elijah said.
Bonnie and I were confused by that. I think I have an idea, but I hope I’m wrong.
“We’re going to offer another vampire. One that he’ll want more. Me.” Stefan told Bonnie and I.
I couldn’t help but want to argue with him, but then again, that wouldn’t do any good. I knew that if he went by himself then there was a chance that he could get killed, but if I went with him then maybe there was a chance that everything would go our way.
“Bonnie did the locator spell. They’re at Steven’s Quarry.” Elijah told us as he came out of the house.
“I’ll head over there first and you’ll with Bonnie when it’s time.” Stefan said.
“Just as the moon hits its final phase. She’s to stay hidden until then. He cannot know that she’s alive.” Elijah said which Stefan nodded at.
“I’m going with you.” I told Stefan.
Stefan went to argue back, but when he looked at my eyes, he knew that it wouldn’t be worth his breath. When we got to the Quarry, we stood there. I didn’t hear anything except when Stefan spoke.
“We’re here to talk.” Stefan told Klaus.
I didn’t hear what Klaus said, but he was in front of us in just seconds.
“What can I do you for, Mr. Salvatore? It’s nice to see you again, Ryleigh.” Klaus asked/said as he spoke to us.
“You don’t need to kill Jenna. I’ll take her place.” Stefan said.
“Oh, I don’t know. I rather appreciate the symmetry of three woman—Three goddesses—Sacrificed at nature’s altar.” Klaus said as he walked around us.
I shuddered as he did that. I guess Klaus thought something was good about that because he smirked at me. I just stood there and let the 2 boys talk because I knew that I wasn’t in the position to do or say anything.
Stefan turned to Klaus and said, “Don’t play games with me. You’ll get what you want either way.”
“You’re quite the hero, aren’t you? I’ve heard about you.” Klaus mocked.
“Just make the trade. Me for Jenna.” Stefan growled.
After a few quiet minutes, Klaus led us down to the bottom of the Quarry. Elena and Jenna were surprised to see me because I guess they thought that I wouldn’t be there.
“Quite the predicament. You know, it’s funny, all this talk about preserving family, and here’s Stefan, granting your wish.” Klaus said.
“Stefan…” Elena said sadly.
“It’s okay.” Stefan told her.
“Well. Who’s it going to be, Elena?” Klaus asked as he pointed a stake between Jenna and Stefan.
“No.” Elena said.
“Oh, don’t worry. There’s actually no choice.” Klaus said before he vamp-speeded around Stefan, and staked him in the back.
Stefan fell to the ground screaming in pain. I went to run to him, but Klaus tisked his finger at me.
“No! Stefan! No!” Elena screamed.
Klaus then ripped the stake out of Stefan’s back, but left a sizable chunk in his back.
“I have other plans for your boyfriend. I want him alive. But for now…” Klaus said before snapping Stefan’s neck.
I just stood there in utter shock because I didn’t know if he would come after me or not. When Klaus turned to his witch, I slowly relaxed just a little.
“Whenever you’re ready, Greta.” Klaus said.
I went to Stefan and just watched as Klaus went after Jenna. Jenna tried to reassure us, but it didn’t help. Elena and I screamed when Klaus staked Jenna. I wanted to kill him myself, but I knew that I had to stay back. Stefan finally came to, and I knew what he was going to say.
“No.” Stefan said when he saw Jenna’s body.
“I’m so sorry.” Stefan whispered to Elena.
“Yes.” Stefan whispered back to Elena.
I may not have known what she asked, but I did have an idea. I was pulled from my thoughts when Klaus started to drink from Elena. Elena and I just stared at each other. I guess I made her feel comfortable but that changed when Klaus dropped her body. I had to bury my head in Stefan’s back to keep myself from screaming. I only lifted my head when I heard Klaus yell, “No! You were dead!”
Damon pulled the rest of the stake out of Stefan’s back, brought Elena to us, and I had to argue with Stefan just so I could stay with him. Stefan knew that I wasn’t going to leave him. Stefan and I walked up behind my cousin, and watched as Elijah walked up to Klaus.
“Elijah?” Klaus questioned.
“Hello, brother.” Elijah replied.
I cringed as Elijah punched his arm into Klaus’s chest.
“In the name of our family, Niklaus…” Elijah said as he twisted Klaus’s heart.
“I didn’t bury them at sea!” Klaus gasped.
“What?” Elijah questioned.
“Their bodies are safe. If you kill me, you’ll never find them.” Klaus answered.
I had a feeling that Klaus was talking about their siblings. At least, I hope that I am right about that.
“Elijah! Don’t listen to him.” Stefan shouted.
“Elijah. I can take you to them. I give you my word… brother.” Klaus said as he tried to convince Elijah.
“Do it and I’ll take you both out.” Bonnie said.
I looked at her like she was crazy, but I knew that I would help her if I had to.
“You’ll die.” Elijah said.
“I don’t care.” Bonnie said like it was nothing.
“I’m sorry.” Elijah said while looking between us and Klaus.
“No!” “No.” Stefan and Bonnie yelled/said before Elijah flew off with Klaus.
I was in shock by that, but then again, I wasn’t surprised. With Klaus being his brother, Elijah is bound to believe him. After all of us got over the shock of Elijah’s betrayal, we headed to the Gilbert house. I was with Elena as she got ready. She let me borrow some of her things, and she even did my hair.
“I’m glad that you’re here, Ry. I don’t know what I would do if you wasn’t.” Elena told me as I stood behind her doing her hair.
“Your welcome, Lena. I’ll always be here for you no matter what.” I told her as I gave her a slight hug.
Jeremy knocked on the door, so I gave them a chance to talk. After a few minutes, I went to go back in the room, and saw them hugging. I’m glad that they’re putting everything aside and just being there for each other. When they pulled away, Jeremy hugged me before going out of the room.
“Ready?” I asked.
Elena gave me a slight nod. We walked downstairs together, and rode together to the cemetery. I was going to just stand by and watch, but Elena wanted me to go with her. I followed her to each tombstone. We glanced at each tombstone, and all the memories that came with them. Elena and I hugged each other and I couldn’t help but cry with her. We stayed like that for I don’t know how long, until it was time to head home.
