I woke up the next morning to my phone ringing. When I looked at my phone, I saw that it was Stefan. Even though I was mad at everyone for lying about Elijah, but I figured that it was important. When I answered, Stefan told me that he needed to talk to me and that it was important. I told him that I would be there soon. I knew that this had something to do with Katherine, and I wasn’t surprised when I got to the Salvatore house, and Elena took me to the den, that I was met with Katherine. We both smiled at each other before looking at the others.
“Like I said just a few minutes ago, and I’ll say it again, I don’t want you here.” Elena said as she looked at Katherine.
“You need me, Elena. You all do.” Katherine replied with a smirk.
“Like hell we do.” Stefan growled.
“We all want the same thing… Klaus dead. Yet here you all are, running around like chickens with their heads cut off.” Katherine said back.
“I don’t need your help and I don’t want it.” Elena bit back.
“And that’s incredibly stupid of you. Do you know where Klaus is? When he’s coming, what he looks like?” Katherine asked, and she knew that she had the there.
“If you know something, say it or get out.” Damon said.
“Fine. Then I’ll just go to the grill and have some lunch… maybe Aunt Jenna’s free for a bite.” Katherine replied back with a smirk.
Before I could say anything, Elena and Stefan decided to go to school, but I decided to skip. Elena tried to talk me out of it, but Katherine stepped in and said that it was my choice. I decided to help Damon with the journals. While Damon and I were in the living room going through the journals, Katherine came in the room.
“What are you two up to?” Katherine asked as she looked between the two of us.
“None of your business.” Damon replied.
“We’re pouting now? Are those the Gilbert journals?” Katherine asked as she looked between me and Damon.
Neither Damon nor I said a word.
“How am I supposed to help you if you don’t tell me what you’re up to?” Katherine said with a pout.
I was trying so hard not to laugh because she was basically begging us to answer her.
“Can you tell us where a bunch of witches were massacred in this town a couple centuries ago?” Damon asked.
“No.” Katherine replied.
“Then you can’t help.” Damon said before he slapped Katherine’s hand for trying to grab a journal.
Katherine slapped him back and that turned into a fight. I had to cover my mouth so I wouldn’t laugh so loud.
“If it’s any consolation, I’m glad that you’re not dead.” Katherine said as she got up from the chair that Damon pushed her into.
“Emily Bennett told me about the massacre. It was a big deal in witch folklore. When a witch dies violently, they release a mystical energy marking the place of their death with power.” Katherine said.
“Elijah wanted to know the site of the massacre.” Damon said.
“What was he going to do when he found it?” Katherine asked, and I was thinking the same thing.
“I don’t know. What did papa witch and baby witch have to say?” Damon asked as Stefan came into the room.
“Isn’t she gone or dead yet?” Stefan asked and I almost fell of the couch because I was trying not to laugh so hard.
“For the last time, I’m here to help. Can we skip the secrets, hmm?” Katherine asked annoyed.
“Elijah had no weapon to kill Klaus, but he believed that if a witch could channel enough power… they wouldn’t need one.” Stefan told her.
“Like the power you get from a spot marked with a hundred dead witches?” Damon said.
“We just need to find it.” Stefan said.
We sat there for I don’t know how before Stefan left to go back to Elena. Damon and I continued to look through the journals. Katherine decided to join us and that was a funny situation.
“Can I help you?” Damon asked as Katherine leaned over his shoulder to look at the journal he was holding.
“I’m bored. “Emily Bennett was taken by the Council today. They kidnapped her from her home and took her to the same location her ancestors were burned a hundred years ago.” So Emily died on the site of the massacre, too.” Katherine said as she read from the journal in Damon’s hand.
Katherine tried to take the journal from Damon but he pulled it away from her.
“Nope. You know this whole friendly, cooperative thing?” Damon asked.
“Mm-hmm.” Katherine replied.
“I don’t buy it.” Damon said.
“I have no reason to lie to you, Damon.” Katherine said, but she looked at me with a slight glare because I snorted from laughter.
“Lie.” Damon said.
“I’m hungry.” Katherine said with a sigh.
“You’re the unwanted house guest. Go feed yourself.” Damon said and when Katherine went to the basement, he looked at me and gave me a slight smile.
“I can’t believe she did that.” I whispered to Damon.
“I know.” Damon whispered back to me.
“Well, nothing in any of these. Find anything?” Stefan asked me and Damon.
Damon showed Stefan where the site of the massacre was, but he didn’t show me. I wasn’t upset because I knew that he was doing it to protect me.
“That’s too bad.” Stefan said with a slight smile.
“Yeah, bummer.” Damon said.
All of a sudden, Damon and I ran to the basement because Katherine hollered for Damon. I helped Damon and Katherine take the stake out of her chest.
“What happened?” I asked Katherine.
“Damon.” Katherine said as she looked behind Damon.
Damon and I looked at Elijah’s body, and we saw that the dagger was being pulled out. Damon grabbed the fire extinguisher and started spraying in all around the room.
“What are you doing?!” Stefan asked as he looked through the door of the cellar.
“Some kind of crazy ass psychic witch attack. Get over there and do something about it. Go!” Damon yelled.
After a few minutes, Stefan calls Damon and I follow him out the door and to Elena’s. I was glad that Elena was alive and I’m glad that Katherine is trying to help, even though I know that she has an ulterior motive.
“You’re going to have to get her out of here before Jenna gets home.” Elena said as Stefan and Katherine came down the stairs, and Katherine gave Elena back her necklace.
“Is that all you have to say to me?” Katherine asked.
“This doesn’t change the way I feel about you.” Elena replied.
“I don’t much like you, either, if we’re going to be open and frankly, I’d be happy to see you dead but if we’re going to try to take on Klaus, we kinda need to be alive. So I’m not a threat to you, Elena. If any of you are going to believe anything, believe that.” Katherine said before she left.
Damon took me home, and I grabbed my overnight bag because I decided to stay and help Damon with the journals. While I was in the bathroom, I heard someone come into Damon’s room, and I automatically knew that it was Katherine. I decided to listen in on their conversation.
“You know what I can’t figure out?” Damon asked.
“What’s that?” Katherine asked back.
“How the town knew Emily Bennett was a witch. I mean, because according to Johnathan Gilbert, he was the only one who knew. I know he didn’t turn her in.” Damon replied.
I could only imagine that Damon was looking at Katherine, and she was just shrugging her shoulders. I was like Damon; I think that Katherine ratted out her own friend.
“Mmm, I should have figured as much.” Damon said and that gave me my answer as well.
“She was a loose end. I like mine tied up. You know what I can’t figure out?” Katherine asked, and I had to roll my eyes at that, even though neither of them could see me.
“Do I care?” Damon asked back.
“Why you won’t tell me where to find the site of the witch massacre.” Katherine replied.
“Because I have no idea.” Damon said back.
“You knew that Emily Bennett was the key to getting me out of that tomb and something tells me that you did everything in your power to make sure that she was safe, yet you have no idea where she was killed. Who’s the liar now? You hurt me today.” Katherine said and I could only imagine that Damon was looking at her funny.
“Tit for tat.” Damon said, and I giggled ever so softly.
“You were mean and very rough and monstrous.” Katherine said.
“You deserved it.” Damon said.
I heard movement toward Damon’s bed, and I knew that Katherine was going to try to seduce him.
“I like this, Damon.” Katherine said and I knew right then that she was trying to kiss Damon.
“Katherine. Katherine, there are six other bedrooms in this house. Go find one.” Damon said and I heard Katherine scoff which meant that Damon rejected her.
After Katherine left the room, I came out of the bathroom. I climbed into Damon’s bed and curled up next to him. Damon showed me a page in the journal that he was reading, and it gave the location of the massacre. I smiled at him and that told him that I would keep his secret.
“That was pretty funny.” I said to Damon.
Damon chuckled and pulled me closer to him. I snuggled more into him. I’m starting to wonder what’s going on with Damon. One minute he’s all cute with me, but then he turns around and acts completely different. I hope that this Damon stays for a while because I really like this Damon.
