Ciel woke up the next day. His body was stiff, and every movement was slow and heavy as if he were being held down by an invisible force. However, the young earl forced himself to get out of bed, and immediately regretted it.
His body slumped to the left a little bit, and Ciel saw why. His left arm was bandaged heavily, with gauze oozing out. He quirked an eyebrow.
"Ah, so you have awakened, young master." Ciel flinched at the sound of Sebastian's voice.
"What the hell, Sebastian! Don't scare me like that again!" Ciel exclaimed, his heart now racing.
"I didn't have any intentions to frighten you, my lord. However, it is time to get ready and have breakfast." The demon butler spoke softly, whisking to Ciel's side.
Sebastian gently peeled the nightgown off of Ciel, his lips twitching. He continued to dress the earl, but hesitating while doing so. The demon paused for a brief moment while he buttoned Ciel's shirt and trousers.
'What the hell is wrong with him?' Ciel thought. 'We have done this many times before, so why is he so awkward about it today?' The teenager shook his head slightly, frowning.
"Is something wrong, my lord?" Sebastian asked. Ciel's eyes widened.
"Uhm, n-no..." The butler pretended not to notice the slight stutter and only smiled warmly. Ciel's stomach was full of butterflies.
"Shall we go to breakfast, then?" Sebastian asked. Ciel nodded and the demon started to escort him into the dining room. Ciel sat down, and Sebastian handed him a plate of flapjacks sided with strawberries and syrup. Ciel gave a questioning look towards his butler.
"If it isn't to your liking, young master, perhaps I could --" Sebastian started to say, only to be interrupted by his lord.
"No, it's fine. Just pleasantly surprised, that's all." He explained. The butler nodded.
Once Ciel had finished eating, they had started Ciel's lessons of academics. The butler left Ciel to work on his "homework" for an hour and a half, only to find his young master sleeping (and also drooling embarrassingly). The butler shook his head.
"How untidy." Sebastian commented, carrying Ciel away with his demonic speed. Sebastian laid down the teenage boy in his bed, placing a quilt on him, and left. It would be best if the young master rested, rather than exhausting himself.
