Violet was unconscious in my lap. How could I be so stupid to leave her? I promised to protect her no matter what the day her dad left.
The police and ambulance came in no time. I explained to the officer what happened and he understood why I nearly killed Rob so he wouldn't run away like a coward.
They took Violet to the hospital but they had to pry her out of my arms.
"Mom it's all my fault!" I walked out of my room.
"No it's not honey... It's just, you can't explain why these things happen." She kept crying. "Where's her mother?"
As if it was on cue Violet's mom Veronica bursts through our front door.
"Why the hell is Rob getting arrested?" She looked at me.
"He.... He abused Violet" I broke the news to her expecting him reaction to be big.
"You nearly killed him Zayn!" Veronica looked at me in disgust.
"What about your daughter?" My mom got in.
"She could fucking die for all I care!" Veronica confessed.
"Well great for you! She's about to die! I held her unconscious in my lap for an hour!" I maintained my calm in response to Violets mothers ignorance.
"How could you say that Veronica?!" My mom kept crying and it broke my heart even more.
"We don't even knew the full story since my daughter is unable to talk right?" Her mom pointed out.
"No we don't but that doesn't erase the image of Robs hand in Violets shorts and her screaming for help." I attempted to shake to horrible image out of my head but I couldn't.
"Shorts? Since when does she wear shorts? She tempted him!" She was about to walk out the door.
"You haven't been the same since Vincent left!" My mom screamed.
"You know what fuck you Amanda!" She screamed at my mother.
"I'm going to go pick up Simone and see Violet since her mother won't be there for her"
"How??!! I HATE MYSELF SO MUCH!" Simone started crying in the passenger seat of my car.
"I know unsaid that too but these things ha--"
"No we actually discussed Rob nearly killing her last night. Right before we went to the party. If she di--" Simone panicked
"Don't you even fucking mention that or think about it." I found a parking space and held in my tears. I never cry, never.
"What room is she even in?" Simone asked me as we walked to the entrance of the hospital.
"It sucks that her mom doesn't even support her." We both made our way to the front desk.
"Hello, what room is Violet Jauregui in?" I smiled at the lady at the desk.
"Floor 2, Room 102. She's in a fragile state..." The ladies facial expression softened.
Simone and I ignored the last sentence and went up the elevator as fast as we could and made our way to Violets room.
"Violet!" My eyes focused at her arm connected to the IV and blood cords. Her heart beat was at a steady pace and that calm my nerves.
