The Charmer from above

I was the gray mouse, the one that no one saw. Niall was the man who was everything else. He charmed everyone and he got whatever and whoever he wanted.

7. To show off skills

Eleanor took me to an expensive clothing store and Perrie appeared. They went through the clothes, and then they pulled me into the fitting room. (Don't know what it's called, but it's the room where testing clothes.)
"We pick up the clothes and try."
I nodded.

Okay, I realized I really had no taste, when they picked in colorful clothes. I tried on dresses, pants and it all. Sometimes I liked the clothes, but it was Eleanor and Perrie who chose everything I would have.
"It's our money." they said quickly. "You'll just nod and say yes."
I swallowed.
"Yes ...?"
Still, it was a pleasure. It was as if I discovered new aspects of myself. I didn't look like a gray mouse, but I didn't look like a model. Still, I was pleased. All couldn't be fancy and I was used to belong to the middle class. I was wearing a black tight dress and immediately became both Perrie and Eleanor quiet. I blushed quickly and noted that it really showed more than what I was used to.
"I know!" I replied quickly. "I don't have such a body that fits in this kind of clothes."
Perrie disagreed.
"Sally, it fits perfectly. We became silent just because.." she paused and quickly continued Eleanor.
"You looking fucking nice, to nice!"
I hesitated.
"Are you serious?"
They nodded. Eleanor came into the fitting room and she looked at me from the bottom up.
"You must have this dress. This you should have on that evening when we will win the bet."
I hesitated.
"Louis will laugh."
Eleanor shook her head.
"No, he wont laugh. Damn so good looking body you got."
I blushed and smiled weakly.
"Okay?"
Perrie laughed a little bit.
"And we have to find stylish shoes and jewelry to that dress. Then we'll fix your hair at the hairdresser and then we have won."
I hesitated.
"But we have three weeks to go?"
Eleanor nodded.
"During three weeks, you will be confident and you will believe in yourself."
I frowned.
"You're joking, right?"
None of them was kidding.

--

Niall turned up when we got to the hairdresser. I chose to avoid him and I sat down in the chair. The guy who would cut my hair was gay and I saw at him that he wasn't fond of my hair.
"God save me!" he said almost sarcastically.
"Come on!" muttering Perrie quickly. "She has wonderful hair and you'll get the hair to be even more perfect."
The guy nodded and he lit up.
"The peaks must be removed and then some paint and then..."
I didn't listen. I saw that Niall stood on the sidelines and he looked at me with his eyes. I instantly became unsure of myself. I had no reason to be angry at him, and he lived his life the way he wanted to live it.
"What do you think?" I asked him quickly. I saw that he was startled. He almost seemed to have lost the power to speech, but then he smiled weakly.
"It will be fine." he said hoarsely. "I trust that the hairdresser can his thing."
I smiled back and then I looked at the hairdresser. He quickly began to get up the scissors and then he worked with my hair. I chose to just smile and I chose to be silent.
"Why did you came along now?" I heard Perrie question. Niall blushed.
"I'm also involved in all this and ..."
Eleanor interrupted him.
"It's we who do the job! Not you right now."
Niall swallowed.
"I've just been busy. I'll do better."
Eleanor snorted.
"Yes, otherwise I will be sure that Louis and Zayn are being told the truth."
Niall agreed.
"But come on, we can't destroy Sally's day."

I got a browner color in my hair. I got to keep my long hair, but it got cut off a few inches. It was as if my hair got a life and when the barber was finished, he was more pleased than anyone else.
"It's like that a hair must look like." he said with satisfaction. Perrie nodded and she cheered.
"Perfect!"
Eleanor agreed.
"As a new girl!"
Niall just smiled and I saw that he agreed. He said nothing, but I saw in his eyes that it was a perfect hairstyle for my face.

--

"OK, now we have the best part left." exclaimed Perrie when we got out on the street. "Now you will learn to believe in yourself and we'll teach you how to be against the guys."
Niall grinned.
"I can tell?"
Eleanor snorted.
"You're the worst teacher in the subject." she said, almost cold. "Sally wont be a whore. She will be a stylish model and you don't know how to be."
Niall was silent, but I gave him a comforting glance.
"I may also learn some tricks from you?"
He nodded.
"But we listen to the girls first?"
I nodded.

Eleanor pulled me to a cafe and we sat down at a table. We ordered tea and then she smiled at me.
"Okay, describe yourself."
I swallowed.
"Huh?"
She smiled a little bit.
"If you are going to describe yourself, what do you say?"
I looked at them all and then at Eleanor again.
"I'm a girl, is working with books and I..."
She interrupted me.
"That's sounded. No guy will fall for those words."
Perrie agreed.
"If a guy asks you, you must answer short and fast."
"How?"
Eleanor thought about it.
"I love books and I like adventure, like in the books." but she wasn't happy. "Maybe that although sounded wrong?"

The whole day was spent to describing me and I got tired almost on topic.
"But it's important." whispered Niall easy to me. "They are right that you have to find your confidence."
I met his gaze.
"You're asking all the girls how they are?"
He blushed.
"Maybe not, but you belong to a different type." he whispered sweet. "YOU are better than them!"
I was startled, I blushed and I just stared at him. Niall smiled a little bit and I saw at him that he meant the words.
"You're not a girl like that, you wont follow a guy home just to have sex?"
I agreed.
"No, I'm not..."
Niall raised his eyebrows and I fell silent. I wanted to say more, but I refused to tell him the truth. He laughed a little bit.
"So come and find your inner strength."

--

The entire second week was spent teaching me how I should be and when Friday came, Perrie was almost satisfied.
"We have to test you." she said. Direct I blushed.
"How?"
Eleanor smiled.
"By visiting a pub and meet lucid guys."
Niall laughed.
"So we'll just let her go into a pub?"
I agreed with him.
"I haven't visited a single pub in my life."
All three fell silent and just stared at me.
"Disko, then?" asked Perrie tentative. I blushed and looked down at the floor.
"No!"
I realized that I had zero experience and I was anything but social.
"Lord of my days." exclaimed Eleanor. "We have a virgin before us."
I blushed even more and I looked down at the floor.
"I was just busy with school and I didn't see that everyone else had fun."
Niall put his arm around my shoulder.
"It's okay!" he whispered sweet. "You should learn all we know."
Perrie snorted.
"Niall, Me and Eleanor. Not you!"
He laughed.
"Well, I know which guys who are normal and you can't let her talk to an idiot the first time?"
I looked at Niall and frowned.
"You mean that ..." I paused and swallowed. "Can you see how a person is?"
He nodded with satisfaction.
"You have to know what you want and when you found it, you must be like that person."
Perrie rolled her eyes.
"But she'll just talk, not seduce guys?"
Niall smiled at her.
"Maybe not, but maybe one day she finds a guy that she wants?"
Eleanor stopped Niall.
"For now, she wont find a guy, but she must just get  experience how to be against a guy."
I nodded.
"And I don't want to get nervous."

--

When we got to the pub something strange happened. They tried to find a good victim, or a guy that I could practice on. Sometimes found Eleanor one, sometimes Perrie, but Niall was always against them.
"No, he's a wimp! No, that guy only looking for one thing. No. He's for God's sake, not even at Sally's level!"
In the end the girls up.
"Find one that's a normal guy that fits her then!"
Eleanor and Perrie walked over to the bar. Left at the table was Niall and me.
"Were they angry?" I whispered quickly. Niall smiled and he seemed not to care.
"Oh, it will pass!"
I swallowed and I looked across the room.
"Can no one be normal?"
Niall hesitated. I saw at him that he had stopped to look, and he looked down at the table.
"Maybe we should change pub?" he said in explanation. I sighed.
"And it would make a difference?"
He disagreed, but he nodded.
"Well, perhaps?"
I sighed, and I let my eyes fall on him.
"Come on Niall. Just one that I can practice on?"
Niall gulped and I saw that he clenched his jaws.
"You can practice on me?"
I frowned.
"It doesn't work?"
He looked up at me.
"Why not?"
I swallowed.
"You are my friend and you know more about me than many others."
He smiled weakly.
"But I don't know everything?"
I looked at him a few extra seconds. Was he trying to flirt with me? I got a nasty gut feeling and I backed almost away.
"No Niall."
He didn't give up.
"Why not? If you can manage me, you can manage all guys."
Perrie came back with the drink.
"Well?"
I swallowed and I looked at her.
"Niall want me to..." I realized that it sounded wrong. He cleared his throat lightly and then he smiled at her.
"She can practice on me?"
Perrie sat down and she looked at us both. It was as if she believed in my theory. Niall was flirting with me.
"Are you serious?"
Niall nodded.
"I'm still the one who sees all the little details and if she succeeds with me, she manages all?"
Perrie was actually with him this time.
"But then we can sit in my apartment?"
Niall agreed, and he smiled at me.
"It was a good suggestion?" he said happily. "I'm not as dumb as I look?"
I smiled uncertainly.
"No, maybe not?"

--

Eleanor didn't want to come along, but Perrie took us to her apartment. She put out the wine and she lit candles in the apartment.
"You must understand that it's serious." she said quickly and looked at Niall. "This isn't a date."
Niall agreed.
"Well, what did you expect?"
I sat on the couch and I saw the looks she gave Niall. Right as it was, she seemed almost annoyed.
"Leave her alone!"
Niall gulped and he nodded at her.
"I wont do anything behind your back."
Perrie nodded.
"Promise?"
He nodded quickly.
"I promise!"

"Okay!" Perrie said after a moment. "What happens is that you'll show up your safe side. Can't you answer, don't answer."

It felt strange to sit and look at Niall. We talked and he asked questions, obviously them as guys wanted to know. I was more scared than confident, but I managed to hide it well.

"What do you think about books?" asked Niall quickly. I lit up and I felt it was a good topic. Then I realized that I couldn't talk about everything that I knew. I would keep it short and simple to the topic.
"Books are a world, where everyone can go to almost free." I replied and smiled at him. "You don't need to go to the cinema or turn on a DVD. You just need a book and a chair and a lamp."
Niall smiled and he nodded with satisfaction.
"It sounds good?"
Perrie agreed.
"Nice and short."
I nodded and smiled at them.
"So do guys really ask such questions?"
Niall laughed.
"No, but you never know what might turn up."
Perrie agreed.
"Guys can ask almost anything."
I agreed.
"And I'll just be brief in my answer?"
Perrie nodded.
"As you've done now, you soon pro."
Niall nodded and I felt his eyes slid over my face. I blushed slightly. Direct Perrie stood up.
"No, let's end the evening."
I nodded and I stood up too.
"I'll call a taxi to Sally." continued Perrie and I gave her a surprised look.
"And Niall?"
She smiled.
"He can walk home. I want you to come home safely."
