Hermione looked so weak there, which she was. But Kingsley wanted a job done, and who was I to argue?
"Are you thirsty? You have to be, not drinking anything for four days."
She smiles, and winces. "Yeah, I guess."
I pretend to press my hand against my ear. I was, but for a different reason other than boredom. A Muggle contraption was in there, and it enabled me to talk to Kingsley. "She drank it. Come on, before it wears off."
Hermione looked at me. "What? Sorry, I didn't hear what you said."
"Nothing, Hermione. Just keep eating. I want you to tell me everything that happened after."
"Well, I could tell you now," she says, taking another sip of the 'water'.
"I want to tell you my side while you eat, if that's okay."
"So, I was walking toward the Ministry, as I figured you would be there. So, I was walk-"
There was a loud bang, and Kingsley Shacklebolt Apparated.
"Hi, Kingsley!" Said Hermione sunnily.
"Hullo, Hermione. I'm going to ask you some questions. Is that okay?"
He smiles and nods, her eyes glaze over due to the Veritaserum.
"Do you know who killed Neville Longbottom?"
"Who did it then?"
"I did. Kingsley, it was out of self-defense! He was going to spill the beans!"
I gasped. "Hermione..."
"What was he going to tell?"
"Who killed Draco! I can't have people knowing... She was struggling under the Veritaserum, trying but failing to lie.
"Who did it, Hermione?"
