I opened my eyes. The walls were a sunny yellow, with pictures of flowers on the walls. There was a faint beeping in the background, and I noticed that I was connected to lots of different hooks and wires.
Draco's concerned face was over me. "Hermione? Are you awake this time?"
I look at him. "What?"
"You've been in a coma for the past year. They were about to unplug you. Hermione, are you okay?"
I nod and then feel a killer headache. "So-so," I say, making a hand gesture to show how I feel.
"Wait... You said I've been in a coma for the past year, right?"
"Around that long, yes. God, Hermione, don't ever do this to me again!"
"I'll try not to." I give him a goofy grin. "So, does that mean your dying, Neville dying, Harry dying, Voldemort not being dead, me going to Azkaban, all that happened? Or did it not?"
"Hermione, what on Earth are you talking about?"
I blush, shaking my head. "I'll tell you later. But one more question: Are we real or was that coma-induced as well?"
He grins. "We are a thing, Hermione."
I grin. "Good." I lean up and kiss him.
"Ah! I almost forgot! I was supposed to say if you awakened." He gives a quick holler, and soon, Harry, Ginny, Ron, Neville, and others come in.
"Hi, guys," I say shyly as they surround my hospital bed.
"My God, Hermione!" "Do you even know what happened?" "What the hell, Hermione fucking Granger, you scared me to death." Those were the various responses, and wrapping my head around them just plain hurt.
"You are all acting like I did something bad. What... What put me in the coma?" I ask, my eyebrows scrunched together.
"Oh, it was nothing too terribly bad-" begins Neville.
"You only 'fell' off the highest building in Diagon Alley! Yeah, nothing big. Oh, but that wasn't what caused the coma. Nope. What caused it was the fact that your head wound began to bleed inside instead of outside. You could have died, Hermione. Dammit, Hermione, we almost lost you!" Draco punches the wall, crying.
"They-they were going to unplug you. Hermione, if you didn't wake up today, you would be dead." States a concerned Ginny.
I nod, and wince. My head was killing me!
"Guys, give her space. She'll come around."
They turn to leave.
"Yes?" He says, stopping at the door.
"Will you stay with me?"
He smiles, shutting the door so it was only me and him.
"I love you, Draco."
"And I you, Hermione."
He leaned down and kissed me. I returned it.
Never had life been sweeter then there, in that moment.
