I couldn't believe my luck. Out of all the the things that could've gone wrong, the worst happened.
I was found by Lord Voldemort.
I was a dead man.
There was no hope for me. In eight hours, Voldemort will launch the world's greatest attack and I'll be dead.
In fact, I'm marching off to my death now.
Voldemort wants my death to happen as fast as possible, because then Hermione won't find me alive.
I didn't have the guts- or the heart- to correct him.
He wanted my death as public as possible, so we marched out halfway between his castle and Hogwarts. All the Death Eaters were there, and anybody in Hogwarts can see or hear this.
I marched through row after row of Death Eaters, my head bowed low with shame as they shout jeers at me.
Finally, we stopped, as the sun was setting an the sky was a mix of brilliant pink, blue, and purple. I would enjoy it if I weren't about to die. Just a small minor setback.
"This boy- this scum- is an example of what never to become. He has done the unforgivable- betray me. This means death! Any objections?" Voldemort's voice was small, but it rang out as if it were a Howler through the open night.
No one moved, let alone dared to breathe, as he paused. "Good."
I closed my eyes.
I'm ready for the end, and whatever comes after. My only wish was that I fixed things with Hermione.
But before he could utter a word, let alone a syllable, a Disarming spell Disarmed Voldemort and took his wand. I looked to the west and it was- no, I must be seeing things, but it was!- Hermione!
"I'll take that," said Hermione lazily, pocketing Voldemort's wand.
"How dare you-"
"Oh, I dare," said Hermione, mocking boredom, "because it's over. I killed the cat. Let's just make it easier on all of us. Surrender now."
"Never!" And with that, he and the Death Eaters were gone.
As soon as Voldemort was gone, she dropped the act and sant to her knees, kneeling next to me and cutting my binds. "Oh, Draco, I'm sorry! Oh, as soon as you left, I just-j-j-just thought, oh Draco! Don't forgive me, you don't deserve me, you deserve someone better, I don't-"
Before she could finish her ranting, I pressed her into a kiss. It was a warm, sunny, loving, lingering kiss, that gave off a certain warmth you didn't just get every day.
Sometime later, we broke apart, and she filled me in. We were stuck out here until Voldemort attacked in the morning.
We moved into a well-concealed spot, and cuddled next to each other, staring at the stars.
The world may be at war right now, but for now, we are perfect. We may have to get up in the morning and fight a war, but for now, that's okay. We may lose each other, but for now, we remain.
Thanks for reading so much! I'm about to put in some plot twists, it's about to get good, I promise! Comment what you think so far!
Love you all,
