Two Weeks Later...
I open my computer and enter in my password. Today's the day. July Twenty-Seventh. The contest rules say that the winner is going to be announced today, at 9 p.m. sharp.
I'm practically buzzing with excitement. Even though I know that my chances of winning are very slim, I have a small sliver of hope that the winner might be me or Faye. We certainly worked hard enough for it.
Faye is in the kitchen making a bowl of popcorn. I could hear her pacing back and forth in front of the microwave, impatiently waiting for it to finish. For the past two weeks, we had been entering our name in the contest every day with the same thing of our minds. Faye wanted to meet Calum, the bassist, and I wanted to meet Luke, the guitarist/lead singer.
I had always had my eye on Luke ever since the first time I saw him. Something about his little laugh and sparkling blue eyes made me sort of go gaga over him. My knees literally went weak every time I heard him sing. The boy was gifted.
"It's time Faye!" I yelled, over my shoulder.
I could hear her drop something and curse under her breath before she came running into my room. She was dressed in her lucky sheep pajamas and her fiery red hair was pulled up into a messy ponytail. We had decided to have a sleepover since we would either be crying over whoever won the contest or freaking out all night because we won. Either option was going to be exhausting.
With shaky hands, I open Safari quickly and click on my email icon. I have 3 new messages. I hurriedly click on the first message with high hopes. I frown, realizing it is only a stupid coupon to Victoria's Secret. Rolling my eyes, I click on the next one, only to be disappointed yet again. It's just some more spam about breast implants.
Faye and I both suck in a shaky breath as I hover my mouse over the final email. I force my finger up into the air, ready to click on it. But, no matter how hard I try, I just can't make myself do it.
"God, you do it Faye! I can't!" I push my computer into her lap and cover my eyes with both my hands.
"Yeah, make me have a heart attack and do it for you." She mutters.
There were a couple moments of silence before she quickly clicks on it. With one small breath, I tear my hand away from my face to look at the screen. A deep pang goes off in my chest as I look over the email in front of me. It is a letter from my dentist, trying to confirm my next cleaning appointment.
"Well, I guess it was worth a shot. We should probably see who the lucky winner is on the website..." The disappointment was evident in Faye's tone as she jumps up from my bed to get her phone.
Oh my god, kill me now. With a groan, I shut my computer and flop back onto my bed with my high hopes now dashed. I know it was a long shot for me to win, but I was desperately hoping I would. I mean come on! How many girls would get the chance to tour with 5 Seconds of Summer? If I did win... I couldn't even finish the thought without swooning.
If I did win, everything would have changed for me. Deep down, I just knew it.
I lean my head over to my bedside table where my mom's picture rests. It was one of my favorites of her. It was taken in our old canary yellow kitchen with the sunlight streaming in the background. Mom still had most of her hair and there was a big smile on her face as she dipped her paintbrush into a light shade of blue. She was painting a picture of the countryside--she never finished it.
"So much for that mum. I guess all of our luck has run out."
Faye finally returns with a glum expression on her face, "Some girl named Bethany won. Practically everyone is gutted about it."
Both of us were quiet as I stare at the picture of Luke on my ceiling. I didn't know how we were even going to make this night remotely fun after this.
"You know what?" She sighs, flopping down next to me. "Screw that. I bet you that Bethany is a total snore and all the boys will be wishing they had a hot blonde and red head to snuggle up with."
I giggle at her comment and shake my head. "Yeah. They don't know what they are missing. If they had picked you, their tour bus would have probably caught on fire from your cooking."
Faye laughs and punches me in the arm, "Oh yeah? Well if they had picked you, they would have gained fifty pounds from your cooking and all the fangirls would beat you to death because they would no longer be fit and hot."
"I bet they would all still be hot if they were fat... Maybe they would hire me to cook for them all the time and roll them on and off stage."
We both turned our heads to look at each other before bursting into a fit of laughter. That was the thing I loved about Faye. She was always so positive and looked at the bright side in every situation. I couldn't think of how many times she made me smile after my mom died. I was completely grateful to have a friend like her.
After we cracked a few more jokes, we decided to settle down and have a Twilight marathon. For some odd reason, Faye loved to make fun of Bella and Edward's relationship and rant about how unrealistic the story line was. I always had to remind her that the movie was about vampires and werewolves, so of course its going to be unrealistic, but she never listens.
I got halfway through Eclipse before my eyes started to droop and my appetite for cookie dough ice cream was long gone. In a matter of minutes, I fell asleep on Faye's shoulder, dreaming about a fantasy world filled with vampires who all wanted Bethany's blood.
I woke up with a jolt, sitting up so quickly from my bed it made my head spin. After eating breakfast and talking about Bethany and how much she sucks, Faye left. Her aunt is moving to London tomorrow and Faye was asked to help her pack. With the help of a little bribery, it didn't take much to convince her to leave. You would think that getting to stay in London with your extremely rich aunt would be a gift enough, but Faye needed a little more convincing.
She claims that her aunt is worse than the devil and Hitler combined. I didn't see how a 5'4 woman could hold that much evil, but then again, I had never met her. So, her mother had agreed to get Faye concert tickets for one of the 5SOS shows in a couple of weeks.
I'm not going to lie, I was a little bummed out that Fey was getting my dream trip to London and getting to see Luke in person. I mean, we were supposed to be moping about losing the chance to tour with them, not getting concert tickets as reinforcements. But, I pushed all the negative thoughts from my mind and tried my hardest to be happy for her. I wasn't going to be the one to ruin her lucky break. Hopefully she'll get a picture for me or at least a bracelet.
After a bit of staring at the ceiling in self pity, I finally get up to go take a shower, hoping the warm water would wash away some of my disappointment. I softly chuckle to myself at the thought. Yeah, it isn't likely.
My bathroom is tiny like the rest of my rundown apartment, but it has enough room for one person. Light streams through my skylight and onto my light green walls, as I strip down to nothing but my birthday suit. I pull my hair out of my ponytail and let it fall down my shoulders in dirty blonde waves. As I make a grab for my towel in the cabinet, my hip bumps the corner of my cluttered counter. Along with the sharp pain it's inflicted, some of my hair products come crashing onto the aluminum floor.
I don't even bother to pick them back up. I know that if I even try to put them all back in their place, even more stuff will fall. Practically every inch of the counter is covered with makeup and hair products. I'm not much of a girly-girl, but I still have those days where I am in desperate need of a makeover.
Cranking up the hot water, I wait for the mirror to steam. When it does, I step into the shower, wincing as the hot water burns at my skin. For a moment, it feels like tongues of fire are lashing at every bare inch of my flesh before my body gets used to the sudden temperature change. I take longer than usual on everything from shaving my legs to conditioning my hair. I didn't want to focus on anything else but my shower. No matter how hard I try though, I find myself starting to hum one of their songs, 'Out Of My Limit', before I fully stop myself.
"Stop torturing yourself Emma. Who needs 5 Seconds of Summer anyway? I bet they are just a bunch of stupid boys." I scold myself.
Who am I kidding? Of course I need Five Seconds of Summer! They're my band. I sigh, giving up on myself. I know this is a thing that is only going to heal with time, because right now, it sucks.
I sit in the shower until my fingers shrivel up and the hot water runs out. Finally, I pull my wet hair up into a bun and wrap a towel around my chest. Maybe I'll just lay around, listen to music, and drink some hot chocolate to calm my nerves. The thought is way too tempting for my own good.
Walking over to my computer, I flip it open with a list of iTunes songs running through my head. My email home screen greets me with a shaking inbox, indicating I have an unread email. Hmm, I guess I must have forgotten to log off when I looked at it last night with Fey. With no particular interest, I click on the mail icon.
My eyes almost bugged out of my head when I see the 5SOS logo pop up on the screen. There's a long message at the bottom, but the first thing that catches my eye are the big words in the middle of the screen, saying, "Congratulations! You won!"
I can't breathe. I have it. I have the winning email!
I scream, jumping up on top of my bed and doing the stupidest happy dance known to mankind. I can't believe it! I actually won this thing!
"Take that Bethany!" I yell.
All at once, I stop dancing and laughing. That didn't make any sense. The 5SOS website clearly said that Bethany won the tour last night. There must have been some kind of mix up.
I finally decide to put some clothes on before I investigate any further. Grabbing the first things I can find in my drawer, I slip them on and bounce back over to my bed. It's a batman shirt and a pair of sweats--a usual Monday outfit. I take in a deep breath before throughly reading over the message that states,
Congratulations! You won!
All of us at Modest! Management would like to congratulate you for winning the 'Tour with 5SOS' contest. You have won two months of touring with the boyband Five Seconds of Summer in the 'Where We Are Tour'. You will get to spend time with the boys while they do interviews, sound checks, and all the concerts in that time. You will practically be part of the band! Miss Bethany Reynolds, the original winner, lied about some personal information, deeming her ineligible for the contest. We have informed her of this and you were our second winner. We are so sorry for the inconvenience!
We have arranged a flight for you tomorrow at 12:30 p.m. The boys will pick you up from the airport as soon as your flight touches down. They all can't wait to meet you! See you soon Emma.
I read it quickly, hyperventilating the entire time. I must be dreaming! There is no way this could possible be real!
Below the message, there is a video attached. I quickly open it. A picture of all the boys sitting on the couch pops up. Oh my god, they look adorable!
"Hi Emma!" They all chorus.
"Congratulations, on winning Tour with 5SOS! We are all so excited to meet you and make you one of the band." Ashton starts with a grin.
They all smile as Calum continues, "All the traveling expenses have been paid for and all you need to do is show up at Gate 6 in the LAX airport tomorrow at 12:30. Tell them your name and you should be good. Oh, and if you're late to everything like us, you might want to get there a bit early."
"We will all be there to pick you up in London when your flight arrives. Hopefully you like pizza because that's what we're having for dinner." Michael says before Ashton punches him in the arm.
"Ignore him, we'll have whatever you want."
Michael rolls his eyes and punches Ashton back. "If she doesn't like pizza then we might not get along!"
"Anyways!" Luke tries to regain order as Michael lunges for Ashton, sending them toppling off the couch. "Just print off your ticket and we'll see you tomorrow night."
"Unless your plane crashes... Which would really suck!" Calum yells over the chaos.
"Jesus dude, that was harsh." I hear Ashton whine off screen.
"And no, you won't have your own bathroom. Sorry. Um. Okay. Bye, see you tomorrow!" Luke adds quickly before the camera falls and the video ends.
Below the video is a link to my printable plane ticket. I start to print out the pages as I read every thing over again.
"Flight from California to London, England." I murmur to myself, still not believing this is happening.
I snatch the ticket from my printer as soon as it comes out. Hugging the paper close to my heart, I can't help the grin that spreads on my face. There is no way this is all actually happening!
I glance over to my mum's photo with tears in my eyes.
"Mum, I'm leaving for two months tomorrow! Aren't you proud?" I whisper to her photograph.
She stays the same, the loving smile still on her face. Before she left us, she got me emancipated so I am able to live by myself, thank god, instead of living with Hank. I think that was the best decision she ever made.
I fall back onto my bed and stare up at the ceiling. I know I won't get a wink of sleep tonight with all of the 5SOS business hanging over my head, but I can hardly wait.
Tomorrow is going to be the best day of my life!
I grasp onto my carry-on bag tightly as I wait in line to board the plane. I haven't been able to eat anything this morning and I can't think straight at all. It is a major shock to me that I could even put my clothes on. My long, blonde hair was pulled up into a stylish ponytail. I had on a simple black and white 5SOS tank top with black skinny jeans and converse. Even though the outfit was simple, it had taken me hours to pick out.
I bounce up and down on my tiptoes, waiting until I could finally board this hunk of metal. Finally, it was my turn. I practically shoved my ticket in the flight attendants face.
"A bit anxious, aren't we dear?" She laughs, scanning it.
I let out a little laugh, before muttering, "You have no idea."
One long flight later, I arrive in London. Luckily, Faye was on my flight so it wasn't that bad. It is already dark out and the sky is so filled with clouds, I' m almost positive it's going to rain. I collect my bags and wait at the gate. I'm exhausted, but the adrenaline rush is giving me loads of energy. Faye is holding my bag and hands it to me, grinning.
My heart almost stops when I recognize all of the boys waiting for me. I wave like a maniac, grateful that the time had finally come for me to meet them. Faye smiles and waves, already catching attention from Calum with her fiery red hair.
Luke's already glancing around and he smiles when he sees me. Ashton's holding a picture of me and waving it in the air as fast as my arm is waving. Calum's grinning from ear to ear as he nudges Michael, who apparently found the pizza place in the food court, judging by the pizza he holds in his hand.
It's when I've jogged up closer to them, that I notice Niall Horan's standing by them as well. How did I miss that? When I did finally notice Niall, he waves... Right.
I pass the gate and head over to them. As soon as I come within an arms-length distance, Ashton engulfes me in a huge hug. I laugh and hug him back, thankful that they are being the friendly boys I know and love. Next it's Luke, and we hold on to each other for a little longer than usual, his arms around my hips and mine around his neck. Michael and Calum just wave and grin and so does Niall.
"Hi! I'm Ashton and these are the boys, plus Niall Horan, who was hanging out with us when we came to get you." Ashton grins and flips his hair.
"I'm Emma, as you guys, excluding Niall, most likely know. " I smile at them all.
"Oh I know. Luke would NOT stop talking about how gorgeous you are." Niall says a matter of factly, and laughing a bit.
Luke blushes and hits Niall on the chest. Niall just grins at him with a cocky expression on his face. Boys.
Luke coughs and breaks the silence. "Let me take your bag."
He takes the bag out of my hand, not letting me protest. I can't believe how nice they're all being. I honestly expected all of this to be majorly awkward, but it is surprisingly super easy.
"And who's your lovely friend here?" Calum asks, his eyes not leaving Fey. She looks like she might pass out.
"This is Fey. Why don't you two...get acquainted." I laugh at Calum. His eyes light up and he grins.
"I would be delighted to."
Well, that was quicker than I expected.
"Thank you." I glance up at Luke and smile, almost forgetting my manners. His eyes are so dreamy.
He gives me a grin as we stare at each other for a few seconds. Luke is so handsome and shy, like Niall, but there's something different about Luke than Niall... Like he has something that no one else has. A quirky quality about him that makes me shiver in the best possible way.
"Let's head to the bus." Calum says, breaking the silence, still smiling at Fey. They look like they've exchanged numbers so I give Fey a huge hug.
"I love you, see you soon!" I whisper into the hug.
"Okay. If you see you-know-who naked, take a pic. I want it." I laugh at her and give her one more hug.
"Get together soon? Call me." I tell her as I wave goodbye.
"Me too!" Calum says, grinning at her. I wave one more goodbye, and then we have all turned around and are heading towards the exit.
I grin, ready to see this bus that I would be spending two months of my life in. This is going to be awesome! A couple of security guards walk with us as we make our way through the airport. There are a bunch of squealing girls that constantly ask if they can take a picture with all of the boys. The boys surprisingly decline and say that we are running late. To get through the crowd, Luke hands my bag to Michael. He places one hand on the small of my back and puts his other hand out in front of me, warding everyone off.
It takes us about 15 minutes until we actually get outside, due to the fangirls. At one point, it got so thick Luke actually gave me a piggy back. I don't blame them though. I would have wanted a picture as well.
Still on Luke's back, I laugh as he climbs the bus steps. Once on the bus, we all settle down in bean bags. The bus soon drives away from the airport. Then, all of the boys begin to ask me random questions like my favorite color and ice cream flavor. I could tell they were all eager to know more about me, which was quite flattering to say the least. Quite slowly, the bus stops. Apparently, this is just the airport bus, taking us to the real bus. We finally stopped in front of one of the biggest, most modern buses I have ever seen.
Luke leads us onto the bus and starts to walk to the back of the bus with my stuff. All of the other boys stay put in the living room at the front of the bus. I'm pretty sure they're just going to play FIFA or something, so I just follow Luke to the back. I watch him (awkwardly) as he puts my stuff in a random bunk, before looking down at me. He's got to be two feet taller than me, or even more.
"How old are you Emma?" He asks randomly.
I caught myself before I slipped up.
I was hoping with all my might he wouldn't notice the tiny slip up.
"Do you know your age?" He asks jokingly.
Of course he noticed!
"I do..." I swallowed the lump in my throat and avoided eye contact, "Today's my birthday actually..."
I look at the ground and my cheeks betray my embarrassment by blushing a tomato red. Of course.
Luke suddenly tackles me with a huge hug and pushes my long blonde hair to the other side of my neck. He gently whispers "Happy birthday Emma." And then he straightens up, smiles, and hops into his bunk, next to mine on the bottom. I sigh and crawl into my bunk, not bothering to change or anything. I fall asleep with him on my mind. And honestly? I'm glad he was there.
* * *
I wake up in my bunk. I can't believe I'm here. I can't believe that I won, I can't believe that I am here for two months! I take my phone out of my bag and check my messages. Nothing, just a few instagram notifications. I heard Luke get up and to go to the bathroom, and I wanted to get in there before the rest of the boys did. I took a quick breath. I don't know what to think. I decide to get dressed in a corner of the bus where no boys were. I quickly grabbed my clothes, a long sleeve 5sos shirt, and a pair of shorts. I changed in a hurry, trying to do it in under thirty seconds so no one sees me.
After I was fully clothed, I grab my hairbrush and makeup bag from my carry on and head towards the bathroom. I lightly knock at the door. It quickly swings open to reveal Luke in all his glory. I absent-mindedly bump right into him. He grins down at me as I laugh awkwardly.
"Sorry! I really didn't mean to do that. I'm kinda klutzy." I say smiling. He's so cute, it makes my head spin.
"I bet." He says, chuckling. I stick my tongue out at him.
"Are you still using the bathroom? I just have to do my hair and makeup...."
I wince at the sound of my voice. I hope I don't sound like some conceded girl who treats her face like it was a cake. That is just not me.
"Yeah, give me two seconds." He shakes his head, still laughing at me, and enters the bathroom again.
Just as Luke locks the door, Ashton comes barreling through. He gives me a small smile before pounding on the bathroom door.
"LUKE LET ME IN!" Ashton starts hopping from foot to foot, holding his crotch area.
"No, I"m doing my hair."
"I HAVE TO PISS LUKE, EXIT THE BATHROOM."
I'm trying so hard to not laugh at the funny scene taking place, I wonder if all the mornings were like this? I heard Luke sigh from the inside as he unlocks the door. As soon as the door was unlocked, Ashton yanks Luke out of the bathroom and rushes inside, re-locking the door behind him. I smuggle my laughter as Luke turns around to look at me. I just smile and he starts laughing.
"Welcome to your two month tour. This is us every morning, so I would be careful!" He smiles at me for a moment too long.
That's okay, because I like it. I like him. I have ever since they started as a band. I've been in the 5SOS family for as long as I can remember. This is my dream to be here with them, joking, having fun, talking. This is honestly just amazing. You have no idea how long I have dreamed about moments like this.
Ashton quickly exits the bathroom, shooting me an apologetic smile. I just laugh in return, walking in quickly before I get ambush like Luke. I brushed my unruly blonde hair and put some mascara on. I don't use eyeliner anymore because it makes my eyes look smaller, in my opinion. I realized that in the middle of a school day instead of doing math. Thats just what boredom does to you. I swiped on some chapstick, pulled all of my stuff together, and left the bathroom.
"Any idea what we're doing today?" Calum shouts from the bunk, as I emerge from the bathroom.
I look at Luke and we both shrug in response. I really hope that they won't be too busy today. I want as much personal time I could get with them, without a fangirl screaming in my ear.
"I'll ask." Luke says, as he heads up to the front of the bus.
Ashton suddenly hops down out of his bunk, with no shirt on, and gives me a grin. He's very....toned. I look away quickly, not wanting to look like some creepy fangirl.
"Luke likes youuuuuuu!" Ashton whispers loudly.
I shake my head, clearing the thought from my mind. How could an international musician with amazing eyes, lips, hair, everything, like me? It just wasn't possible. That was like Romeo liking Ariana Grande, it was never going to happen!
"No, Ashton, he doesn't."
"He totally does. Really." He smiles kindly as he hops back into his bunk to get dressed.
Luke comes back from the front of the bus and motioned to for to stay quiet. With one quick hand movement, he rips the curtain back from Ashton's bunk, exposing him with his shirt half on. Ashton groans and yanks the curtain back into place so he could finish dressing. What a cutie. I hope that we become great friends. I laugh as Luke comes to join me in the back. He grins, twirling his lip ring with his teeth.
"I think we are just hanging out today when we're on the road and learn more about each other. Then tomorrow, we're meeting the other boys." He leads me over to this little couch and 'living room' kind of area and soon, the rest of the boys join us.
"So, truth or dare Emma?" Ashton grins sneakily. Not choosing dare then, not with that smile.
"So, Emma, if you could be anyone, who would you be?" Ashton asks.
I have to think about that one.....Hmmm. I should come up with a better answer than Scarlett Johansson.
"I would be someone like me, but with better qualities and features. I guess, someone who is more perfect than I am. I mean, I have a lot of problems and stuff so I guess someone like that. " I answer shyly.
Luke looks at me. "I think you're pretty great the way you are."
Aw. My heart starts pumping a million miles a minute and I can barely breath. Calm yourself Emma. My cheeks turn a not so lovely shade of crimson as I smile at the ground. Calum coughs, trying to dispel the lovey 'gross' stuff. Michael grins at me, scratching the back of his green haired head.
"Calum, ask her a question." Ashton says, "Then you Mikey, then Luke."
Calum coughs again, for a lack of something to say. He thinks for a minute. "What's your favorite song?"
I smile, trying to conceal my embarrassment. I have two in mind, but those two will not be released to these boys.
"Why?" Luke asks.
"I have two, one of them is yours, another is someone else's." I say, glancing at the ground.
"What are they?" Luke grins and wiggles his eyebrow. "Give us one."
"Ashes and Wine by A Fine Frenzy." I finally admitted.
"The other?" Calum asks, curiosity echoed in his voice.
"Um..Do I have to?" I glance at Ashton. He nods. Ugh. "Fine.....Its..... She Looks So Perfect." I say quickly and quietly..
"Why?" Luke asks. Damn, how many questions does this boy have?
"Because......I don't know...It makes me feel like I'm worth something...?" I say, feeling embarrassed for about the millionth time that night.
"Mike, it's your turn." Ashton reminds him.
"Right-o." He smiles. "Hmm. Okay, what's your favorite movie?"
I was thankful that this question was a pretty easy one and my answer wasn't embarrassing at all.
"I don't know. The Phantom of the Opera and The Host come up as my favorites... I love them both."
"Cool! I love those. We'll definitely have a movie night." Mikey says.
Next it's Luke's turn. He turns to me and gives me a small smile.
"Emma, can I ask you a question?"
"Um... Sure...?" I swallow some air, trying to breathe.
"Do you want to go get some dinner or something sometime....?"
"Uh...yeah. I would love to." I try to blink back my shock.
Did he just ask me out on a date? All of the other boys made kissy faces at Luke when they thought I wasn't looking. Maybe it was a date then...
After a couple more rounds of truth or dare, Ashton puts on The Phantom of The Opera, and I start to hum along quietly.
Luke gently whispers in my ear, "You will be singing for me later."
I shake my head, grinning wildly. He suddenly puts his arm around me. At first, I stiffen at his touch, but as time went on, I found myself snuggled into him. And at the end of the movie, Luke turns his head towards me and leans in. My heart starts beating faster, my fingers start to shake. Is he really going to kiss me? Am I going to kiss him? Wow, that was a stupid question. I turn my face towards his and he just kisses me, and my heart, my head and my lips are on fire.
I just got kissed by Luke Hemmings. I just got kissed by Luke Hemmings!! My head is spinning, I'm completely blushing and I am almost positive I am dreaming. Luke's phone suddenly starts buzzing, his screen was the only light source we had in the room. He smiles at me and I smile at him, and it feels like time has stopped and it is just us in this perfect, perfect world. He takes my hand as he answers his phone.
"Yeah?" He answers happily. He coughs to make sure he sounds more manly before answering again. "Hey Harry." A pause. "Okay, see you in a sec." He hangs up the phone.
"Careful. One Direction is-" The One Direction boys bust into the bus, shouting, whooping, and joking around, cutting off Luke's sentence.
"Taking over the bus." He groans just as the lights flicker back on.
I laugh at his frustration, and I am surprised when he gets up and continues to hold my hand, pulling me with him. All the boys from One Direction were here. I had already met Liam, he used to date my best friend's sister, Sophia. He waves awkwardly and I do the same, smiling, trying to be nice.
"Why was it so damn dark in here?" Louis laughed, flopping down on the couch.
Michael rubbed his eyes and looked around at everyone. I guess he must have fallen asleep during the movie.
Calum laughed before replying,"We were watching a movie before you so rudely interrupted."
"How do you know him?" Luke suddenly whispers, jealousy etched in his voice.
It took me a second to realize what he was talking about. When I did, a small smirk appeared on my face. Luke Hemmings was jealous of Liam Payne.
"He dated my best friends' sister." I whisper back. It makes me feel fluttery inside when he gets jealous.
He grins. "Good. Glad it wasn't you."
"Why?" I ask, teasing him.
"Because I'm not as cute as him."
I just scoff, wondering how he could be so idiotic, and repeat the words he said to me earlier.
"I think you're perfect just the way you are."
Soon after One Direction introduced themselves we all chatted for a bit. They didn't stay long though since it was already 12:00 at night. Everyone was was exhausted so I wasn't surprised that they all quickly fell asleep. I was just as tired at them, but I couldn't resist doing a happy dance before I got into my bunk. I had a feeling that I wasn't going to get much sleep, but to my surprise, I fell asleep as soon as my head hit the pillow.
