~~We sail throughout the night and through a storm.
When morning comes, we are closer to Isla De La Morta.
"Dead men tell no tales," the parrot says as we sail through ruins.
I lean against the railing ignoring everyone and keeping to my thoughts.
Mr. Gibbs tells Will about Jack being marooned on an abandoned island. I don't really listen.
Wills question, "What did he use for rope?" Strikes my attention.
"Human hair. From my back," Jack replies, "Let go of the anchor. Young Mr. Turner, Ms. Harlow, and I will go ashore."
"Captain. What if the worst shall happen?" Gibbs asks him.
"Keep to the code," he replies softly. Will and I get each other questioning looks. Finally, I shrug not knowing.
We take to the row boat and we row to the island.
After a while of silence, Will asks, "What code is Gibbs to keep to if the worst should happen?"
I stop looking around the cave and put my attention on the conversation.
"Pirates code. Any man who falls behind is left behind," Jack explains.
"No heros amongst theives eh?" I ask.
"You know. For having such a bleak outlook on pirates, you're well on your way to becoming one," Jack says, "Sprung a man from jail, commandeered a ship of the fleet, sail with a buccaneer crew out of Tortuga, and you're completely obsessed with treasure."
"That's not true. I am not obsessed with treasure," he says. Will and I tie the boat up and follow Jack.
"Not all treasure is silver and gold mate," Jack says as we overlook the Pearls crew.
Barbossa goes into a very loud rant about the medallion. After a while, I pull it from my shirt.
"Where did you get that?" Jack asks me when he sees the medallion.
"Elizabeth gave it to me before they took her," I say.
"Is that why Barbossa is so mad?" Will asks me.
"Must be, because Elizabeth doesn't have it," I say.
"I have a feelin' I know the real reason you came along now," Jack says.
"And what is that?" I ask wearily.
"You came along with us because you're runnin' from Barbossa. He would soon figure that Elizabeth doesn't have it. It's just a chain around her neck," he explains, "That and you simply want to save her."
I ignore him and listen to the pirates in front of us.
"Every last piece that went astray, we have returned. Except for this," Barbossa says pointing a finger at Elizabeth.
"Jack," Will says as he jumps up and knocks a few gold coins over.
Jack pulls him back and says, "Not yet! We wait for the opportune moment."
Jack gets up and walks away silently. Will and I follow.
"When's that? When it's of greatest profit to you?" Will asks making Jack stop in his tracks.
"May I ask you something?" Jack says turning around, "Now have I given you reason not to trust me? Now do us a favor. I know it's difficult for you. Stay here and try not to do anything stupid. Now come on Ms. Harlow."
I follow Jack to the entrance that the pirates came in.
Jack watches them, and I look back to see Will with one of the oars.
"Jack, you might want to-" I get cut off my Will hitting him upside the head with the oar, "duck."
"Sorry Jack. I'm not going to be your leverage," Will says as he sets the oar down and walks away.
Might as well help Will, Jack isn't waking up anytime soon.
"Will," I whisper yell after him. I follow him closely.
I hear a gun shot, and we stop in our tracks.
"They need your blood Will," I say to him.
"I don't care. Let's go get Elizabeth," he says before slipping into the water. I sigh and follow suit.
We swim under for a bit as we make our way to where Elizabeth lay unconscious.
Will puts a hand over her mouth and startles her. I put a finger over my lips and motion for her to follow us.
She quickly gets up and slips into the water silently and we make our way back to where Jack is.
"Go. Hurry!" I say pushing Elizabeth and Will toward the exit. I run and find Jack struggling to stand up.
"Come on!" I say as I help him up. He grabs the oar and we take off.
We stop running when we see the pirates.
"You! You're suppose to be dead," one pirate says.
"Am I not?" Jack asks looking at himself.
We turn around to walk away, but it's blocked by more pirates. One pulls a gun and the other pulls his too.
"Pearly. Pur-luhay. Parluhlay. Par-snip. Par-sley," Jack fumbles over his words.
"Jack, are you trying to say parlay?" I ask.
"That's the one! Parlay! Parlay!" Jack says.
"Damn to the depths whatever mutainit though of parlay," the fat pirate says.
Jack pushes his guns away and says, "That would be the French."
"Didn't the French invent mayonnaise too?" I ask trying to distract them.
"I like mayonnaise!" the fat pirate says.
"I thought it came from Spain," the lanky one says.
"Stop with this mutiny!" the black one says. They grab us and take us to Barbossa.
"How the blazes did you get off that island?" Barbossa asks Jack.
"When you marooned me on that godforsaken spit of land you forgot one very important thing mate," Jack says, "I'm Captain Jack Sparrow."
"Ah, well I won't be makin' that mistake again," Barbossa says as he walks toward us.
"And who might this be?" Barbossa asks.
"My lovely first mate," Jack says.
"A woman as your first mate? Must be some kind of sick joke!" he says.
"I don't think it is Barbossa," I say.
"Gents, you'll remember Captain Jack Sparrow and his 'lovely' first mate," Barbossa says, "Kill them."
I feel my eyes go wide with fear as they all draw their guns.
"The girls blood didn't work did it?" Jack asks as Barbossa walks away.
"Hold your fire," Barbossa orders, "You know who's blood we need?"
"We know who's blood you need," Jack says.
