8. The accident

When we arrived back at the camps, I saw Casey near her tent. So I decided to scream her name.
"CASEY!!!" I yelled and as soon as I yelled it, she turned towards us and the smile appeared and she ran as fast as she could at us. I crouched down and opened my arms wide so I could hug her, but then somethings happened that I did not expect..
"JACK!!!!!" She screamed in her  high pitched voice and ran right into his arms. He lifted her up high and kissed her all over. I glared at Jack as he said "Looks as if there's a new favorite in town" He smirked and ran away with Casey.
I rolled my eyes at him. and stuck my tongue out even though he couldn't see me.

It was about 2 o'clock now and I was out on a boat ride with just Casey and my grandpa. We decided to take me out water skiing. Now I wouldn't say I'm a pro, but I am no beginner. The first few rounds turned out pretty good until we started to speed things up. I believe it was the fourth time when things got bad. I was holding onto the handle when I hit a wave in the lake which caused me to lose control of the skis. The handle hit me in the head and the rope slid across my leg. I flipped over and the skis flew off of my feet. I screamed in agony as I laid in the water. My grandpa grabbed me out of the water then laid me down on the seats. He quickly grabbed the skis and looked at me.
"You okay? What hurts?" He asked in a hushed tone.
"M-my head and m-m-my l-leg." I said shivering. I could hear Casey crying near me. My grandpa handed me two towels. One for my leg and the other for my head. If anything, my leg hurt more. I grunted in pain and let out a little scream as I put pressure on my leg. When we arrived back at the dock, my grandpa screamed all my uncles and Aaron's names.
"TRAVIS!! JOHN!! MATT!! AARON!! GAVIN!!!!!" He screamed as they all came running quick. "Take her" my grandpa said holding Casey. Then lifted her up and handed me to my uncles so my grandpa could tie up his boat.
"What happened?" I heard one of my aunts yell.
"Skiing accident" my grandpa said running towards the first aid.
"Set her on here." Aaron said laying towels down on the picnic table after clearing everything off.
"Channing!?" I heard a familiar voice say behind me. I think it was Jack. They laid me down on the table and I heard distant chatter.
"Jack, not right now." Aaron groaned.
"What happened?" Jack said, not giving up.
"NOT NOW JACK!" He screamed running back to me.
My grandpa held my head and looked at me. "This might sting a bit." I looked at him in fear. I felt stinging pain in my leg as he poured the isopropyl alcohol (rubbing alcohol).
"AAAAGGGGGHH!" I screamed. I felt my leg being lifted then set down on a pillow for elevation.
"Hand me the bandages." My grandpa said. "Thank you." He said. I assumed he was talking to one of my uncles.
I heard the tearing noise of ripping paper then felt something on my leg.
I don't remember anything after that. I must have fallen asleep. When I woke up, I was laying in my tent. I touched my head an felt a bandage on my wound then looked down at my leg. My would must have been bigger then I expected because it nearly took up my whole thigh.
I got up and surprisingly was able to walk just fine. 'Thank God' I thought to myself. It must be around 9 since it's dark out.  I went to hug my grandpa for bandaging me up. and he hugged me tight. "You feeling OK?" he asked. I gave him a faint smile and nodded. "Good, I-uh think someone wants to see you." He said nodding behind me.
I turn around to see Jack sitting at his campsite next to a fire. I started to walk over and sat next to him on the log.
"Hey" I smiled at him.
He had his attention towards the fire and didn't turn towards me.
"How are you feeling?" He asked in a raspy voice.
"Better then ever." I said slinging my arm around his shoulder.
Jack Gilinsky:
I have been staring at this fire ever since Channing's brother told me to leave. And I didn't blame him. I was invading their privacy. All they wanted to do was fix up Channing. I don't know what came over me when I saw Channing being held by her uncles. I just met Channing but I don't want to lose her quite yet. What am I talking about? I don't want to lose her ever.
She came over to me and sat next to me on the log.
After I asked how she was, it was quiet. We just stared into the fire. It was a nice moment. Spending it with the safe Channing next to me. My arm slithered around her waist and I rested my head on hers.
This moment couldn't get more perfect
