Fight For You Chapter 40

Brooke's Pov:

The tv was the only thing you can hear in the living room where Louis and I sat in. Louis and I sat in silence in front of the blaring tv that played reruns of How I Met Your Mother. The four other boys were out doing who knows what which left Louis and me alone. I didn't mind that at all.

I uncomfortably squirmed in my seat. I turned my body to face Louis who sat enjoying the show. "Louis," I whined as I shook him. "Yes Brooke?" he questions while turning to face me. "Let's go do something today," I said. "Like what?" he asked. "Let's go to the fair at the board walk," I said. "We barely get to hang out anymore." "We went to the aquarium yesterday," he said. "So?" He shrugged and nodded. "You're not even allowed to go out, are you?" he asked. "Why wouldn't I?" I asked. He agreed and replied, "Only if I get to pay." I pouted but gave up and nodded.

"Yes! Now let's go," he said as he stood up and dragged me to the lift (which was already open). We walked in and he pushed the lobby floor. Soon, the doors closed and the ride down was short and right when they opened, we took off running to his car in a race. "I'll beat you there," I laughed. "No I will," he laughed. We raced down to his car and got there at the same time. "I challenged. He burst out laughing. "First one in wins," he said, accepting the challenge.

I took off running faster as fast as I can and once I reached the car I quickly got in, but before I could comprehend what was happening, I saw Louis was already buckled in. "Cheater," I said. "No. I'm fast," he said. "And sometimes slow," I said. "Am not," he argued. "Are so," I teased. "Are not," he said, he let out a giggle. "Are so." "Are not." "Are so." "Are not." "Are so." "Okay! No more," he said. "Whatever let's go," I said, laughing out loud as he smiled besides me.

He started his car with the key in the ignition and and we took off driving to the fair. "How long until we get there?" I asked. "We just left so maybe twenty minutes," he said. "That's not so bad," I said. "No," he said to me before looking at the road again. "Great!" I exclaimed with joy and excitement. "You are in such a good mood," he said. "That's because we are going to the fair," I said. "That's a good point but even though it is small," he said. "It's okay with me. We will still have a blast," I said.

The car fell silent and I looked out to see all the cars we pass by. "Where are the lads today?" I asked, trying to make a useful conversation. "Liam and Niall are at lunch. Zayn is who knows where and Harry probably is at lunch with Niall and Liam or having a day to himself," Louis said. "That explains why they weren't there this morning," I said. "Yeah so we get the day to ourselves," Louis said with glee. "Did you have to argue with Harry?" I asked. "Of course I did." I giggled at him.

We drove along the street and I soon started to see water and sand. "We are almost there," I said in excitement. "We are going to have a fun day to ourselves," he said. "I will get to spend it with you." He glanced at me and we locked eyes for a second before he looked ahead. I smiled before looking away. We soon pulled up to a parking space just right by the board walk. We got out and I walked to Louis side before we walked along the sidewalk and onto the wooden boardwalk. Then, we walked up to a ticket stand where a young man sat with a huge grin plastered on his face.

"Two wristband please," Louis said. The guy handed us two wristbands and Louis paid (like he said he would). Louis handed me mine and I tied it around my wrist while he did his."Where do you want to go on first?" he asked as we walked through the entrance. "The roller coaster," I said, pointing to it. "Let's go," he said, entwining our hands. We took off running to the beginning of the line and waited. There was a few people here on the board walk so it took us a few minutes until it was our turn. We showed the guy our wrist bands and he led us to the back of the cart. We buckled up and pulled the lap bar down on us.

"Are you scared of roller coasters?" he asked. "No. I love them," I said. "If you ever get scared I'm here," he spoke with sincerity. I nodded and quickly looked away, blushing. The ride began slowly and we rounded a corner. Then, we slowly went up the hill with our bodies pressing against the back of the seat. We soon got to the top, about to go down, and slowly came to a stop. "We are going to fall!" I screamed in fright. Louis teased me before he raised his hands, I did the same. He took my hand in his as we dropped the two-hundred foot drop.

We went down the drop and Louis and I started screaming as well as laughing. We came out of a tunnel and there was a part were it went up and down many times. We had to at least be going more than eighty-five miles per-hour. It felt as if we were going to fly out of our seats. On the sharp turns me and Louis would hit the sides of the seats and cry out in pain. It had hurt a lot.

A few more turns and tunnels, we came right at a halt at the end of the ride. We slowly pulled back up at the loading station. My mouth was dry from the screaming and the air drying it. The lap bars pulled up, we stepped off of the ride, and walked out of the exit.

The two of us were both clutching our stomachs from laughter. "Where to next?" I asked after a minute of catching my breath. "Let's go to the ship thing," he said. "The ship thing?" I questioned. "Hey, I don't know what it's called," he defended and shrugged a bit with embarrassment. "Don't be embarrass. I don't know what to call it either," I giggled. A smile formed across his lips as he entwined our hands. "Ship thing it is," he whispered, looking into my eyes.

We walked over to the ship thing- as Louis would call it- hand in hand. We walked right on the ride (since there was no line) and went to the top. We sat down and pulled the lap bar down on us. The lady spoke in the microphone about the safety rules before a loud buzz went off and the ship started swinging back and forth. It would go higher and higher each time, making our stomachs drop. Louis kept laughing and saying it tickles each time we drop which I found very adorable but soon the ride slowly came to a stop after a maximum of six swings. The lap bars raised and we had to exit the ride.

"Does it really tickle?" I asked as we walked over to the arcade games. "A little," he said, laughing. I replied, "You are such a dork." "But you love me," he teased. I blushed and playfully slap his arm. Of course I do. More than you know. He chuckled and wrapped an arm around my shoulder. We walked in the arcade and went to buy some tokens. Louis gave the worker a ten dollar bill and in return, he gave us quite a lot of tokens. We thanked the guy and walked to the pinball machine.

I set in a token and Louis did on the other side. "You're going to lose," he smirked. "We will see about that buddy," I challenged. I picked up a ball and rolled it. It rolled into the one-thousand point slot. I rolled another one and another one each making it into the four-hundred points. I looked over at Louis to see him struggling and muttered curse words under his breath.

"You know what!" he yelled, frustrated. He grabbed the next ball he had and stood up on the game, he walked to the end and dropped it in the ten-thousand point slot. "Hey cheater!" I called him out and pointed at him. "I was getting mad at it anyways," he huffed. I giggled and rolled my last ball which made it into the two-thousand points. "I won!" he yelled. Everyone looked over at us. Most were giving us strange looks but others were annoyance. None of them were with adore.

"That's because you cheated," I argued. "No," he said. "Yes," I said as I placed my hands on my hips. He mischievously smiled at me before he started to tickle me. "Say I won," he demanded. "I won," I giggled hysterically. "You know what I mean," he said. "Never!" I screamed. He continued to tickle me until I gave up. "Okay you won! Louis won! He is the best at pin ball," I exclaimed. He smiled and crossed his arms across his chest. "I thought so," he said, proudly. "Yeah whatever. . ." A smile tugged at the corners of my lips.

We made our way to the snack bar to get a few snacks to share since we ate about four hours ago. There was barely a line to wait in so we walked up to an open window to see a lady sitting there with a bored expression. "Hi. Can we have a cup of churros, pink cotton candy, and a blue slushie?" Louis ordered. "Don't forget dip-n-dots," I said. "And dip-n-dots," Louis finished off with a small laugh. "That will be fifteen dollars and fifty-three cents," the lady spoke in a monotone voice. Louis pulled out his wallet and took out twenty dollars but I quickly snatched it out of his hand and handed the lady the money.

"You sneaky girl," he teased. "I thought you were stealing my money so I wouldn't have to pay," he said as he wrapped an arm around me. "I tricked you," I said as I poked his stomach. He squirmed and let out a small shriek. In return, he poked my nose. "You're change will be four dollars and sixty-six cents," the lady said as she forced a smile at the two of us. She handed Louis his change back but Louis gave it back and said, "Keep the change." That had changed her mood instantly and she gleamed with thankfulness.

The lady left and hurried back with our food. I took the dip-n-dots and the churros. I made Louis carry the cotton candy and the slushie. "Have a good day!" she cheered. We nodded and walked to a near by wood bench to sit down. Louis sat down across from me. I took a bite of my wonderful, tasty, yummy snacks. One of them was the dip-n-dots.

"You seem to love those dip-n-dots," Louis took notice. "What can I say? I love them," I said. He took a sip of his slushie then, held it out to me. "Do you want some?" he asked. I shook my head. "Do you want some of this?" I asked. He nodded and I handed him the dip-n-dots as I took the cotton candy from him. I tore a piece and put it in my mouth. The pink sugary fluffiness dissolved on my warm tongue. I took another piece and handed it back to Louis. He gladly took it and ate it. We ate a few churros, and passed the cotton candy and dip-n-dots back and forth. We talked and laughed about the good memories as we ate. He took the empty garbage and tossed it away in the trash bin behind him.

He walked over to me and lend me his hand to take. "Let's go on the ferris wheel," he said. We walked to the Ferris wheel, admiring our surroundings. The sounds of the waves were crashing and the seagulls were squeaking or squeaking. The sun was now setting, making the sky turn a beautiful color of orange, yellow, and pink.

We waited in line that had about a ten minute or so wait. I wrapped my arms around Louis' torso and he seemed surprised at first but wrapped his arms around me with a small squeeze. I smiled against his chest and cuddled closer. His heart was beating rapidly at my touch and I love knowing I had this effect of him. His head rested on top of mine. I glanced up in his eyes and this may sound very cliché but he has really amazing eyes and I could stare in them all day. Our gaze never broke apart until the employee shouted, "Alright next!" I jumped back and awkwardly walked ahead.

We sat in, buckled ourselves in, and pulled down the lap bar on us. Chris, the employee, locked the little door and did a thumbs up to another employee. The ferris wheel began going around. It had to have been at least one-hundred feet tall. We went around two or three times in silence before we got stuck at the top. That's when Louis and I unbuckled the seatbelt that was holding us in and sat more comfortably (me cuddling in his chest and his arm wrapped around me). "Wow," I gasp in awe, "it's really gorgeous out here with the sun reflecting on the water." The sun was setting out on the horizon that shimmered the beautiful water. "It really is," he said, speechless. He smiled while looking out at the water. I snuggled closer into him.

"Louis," I whispered. "Yes?" "When do you think you will ever tell me what ever you were talking about, yesterday?" I curiously asked. He tore his gaze from the ocean and looked down at me. "One day I will and it may or may not end up the way I plan on it to go," he said. I buried my head in the crook of his neck. I closed my eyes and said, "Why is that?" "You may not take it well," he sadly said. "Is it a bad thing?" I asked. "Not the kind of bad you're thinking of," he said. "Oh," I mumbled. "Is it about me?" I asked.

He didn't say anything for awhile before saying, "You could say that." I looked up at him in confusion. "Well, if its about me. I would like to know," I demanded. "It's not exactly about you. Mainly me," he confessed. My eyes widen as I thought about what he could mean. Before anyone could say anything else, the ferris wheel started to move again. We went around a couple more times until we came to a complete stop at the bottom. We got out and began walking back to Louis' car. We stood close to each other and held hands.

I glanced at Louis-who was already looking down at me. His cheeks turned a crimson color and he looked ahead. We walked past the ticket booth and onto the concrete, no longer above water. The car came into view and we reached the familiar Black Porsche Boxster. We sat in and buckled up. He put the key in the ignition and backed out before looking ahead onto the road again.

"Louis," I whispered softly. "Yes?" He looked over at me before at the rode, again. "What ever is going on: you don't have to tell me when you're not ready," I said. He smiled at me and said, "Thank you." The drive back went by quick. Louis and I made small talk here and there during the ride but was nothing major. He parked where the car was before and took the keys out before he put it in his pocket.

We got out of his car. And I closed the door behind me. I heard him lock his car before making his way over to me. We walked down the sidewalk and back into the lobby. None of us spoke a word. We made our way to the lift and pushed the button. We waited patiently before the doors opened and we walked in. I pushed the top floor and the doors closed. "Thank you for today," I said to him. "No problem," he said, "I had a lot of fun." "You didn't have to pay," I said. "But I wanted to," he said, smiling. The doors opened up before I could say anything.

"That was a fun day," he said as we exit the lift. "Very fun! We should do this again," I said. "Of course we will," he said. "I'm going to go get a drink, do you want anything?" I asked while walking to the kitchen. "A coke?" I nodded and walked in the kitchen door, but before walking in I saw Harry run down the stairs, fuming. I shrugged it off and walked to the fridge. I grabbed a water and a coke then, I closed the fridge door with my foot. I walked to the curtain that covered the kitchen doorway but stopped when I heard my name from Harry. I placed the drink on the counter and stood behind the door listening to Louis and Harry.

"Louis, I told you not to break the rules I have given you about Brooke," Harry scolded. "We wanted to go out. We were bored and wanted to hang out," Louis defended. "I have given you rules about Brooke and you broke them," Harry spat, "you said you wouldn't go out with her alone with out me because of what happened last time you two went out." Rules? "That was back in Cheshire. I doubt people noticed," Louis scoffed. "I saw pictures Louis and you said you wouldn't," Harry scoffed. "You broke the rules Louis," Harry muttered and shook his head in disappointment. Louis frowned and clenched his fist in anger.

"I didn't nothing to hurt her. We didn't do much PDA and importantly: I am not dating her," Louis stated in annoyance with Harry. "But you think about dating her!" Harry snarled. "I do not. She is a friend that's all!" Louis yelled, frustrated. A friend? That is painful to here and that is enough for me to hear. I shook my head as I held in the tears and ran out of the kitchen. I pushed the button of the lift and walked in once they opened. "Brooke," they softly spoke. "What's wrong?" Louis asked. I turned around with red puffy eyes. I looked at him on the verge of tears. "Forget it," I whispered as the doors of the lift closed. The lift ride was slow and right when they opened I ran out. I'm not going to cry after all I knew I was just a friend. I put my hopes up too high.

My feet became sore so I walked along the concrete side walk instead of running or jogging. I made my way down to the park until I found the familiar tree across from the swing set. The sky started to get cloudy and thunder rumbled in the clouds but I didn't care. I pulled my sweater closer to me my body to keep warm. It was a bit cold outside and it looked like it was going to pour rain.

I sat down against the tree trunk and I pulled my knees to my chest. Do you want to know what happened next? I broke. I broke down in tears that I was holding. I buried my head in my arm and sobbed. I am so stupid. I thought maybe I had a chance with him after today. I was stupid to think I did. I'm nothing but a friend and I should have known.

"Brooke!" I heard someone shout. I looked up but through blurry vision, I managed to see Louis running towards me. "What is it Louis?" I snapped before putting my head down. Loud heavy pants came from his lips which caused me to look up at him to see he was out of breath from the running. "Why did you leave like that?" hd asked while siting down next to me. I humorously laughed and stood up, he sighed as he stood right back up. I walked away from him but his arm pulled me back. I felt a rain drop hit my cheek. The liquid was cold and icy from the cold temperature. There was a loud rumble and rain reagan to pour down, drenching Louis and me.

He stared back in my green eyes that glinted with sadness. His eyes shown hurt and confusion. "Why do I even bother telling you? After all I'm just a friend!" I yelled over the loud sound of pouring rain. "Brooke, what's going on? Please tell me," he begged. "You don't know?" I whispered with disappointment. He shook his head with sorrow. "Boys are so blind!" I yelled and turned around. "After everything and all the little hints I dropped, so little like the blushing, yet you still don't know." "Brooke, what's wrong?" he asked, again.

I sharply turned around and faced him. Something inside of me snapped. "Do you want to know what's wrong?!" I yelled. He nodded a bit hesitant to know what I'm going to say next. "I love you Louis!" I shouted. He looked a bit taken back. His eyes widen and for a second it looked hopeful but it vanished. I continued, "I have loved you since that day I ran away from the studio maybe even before! That dream I had? That wasn't about my family it was about you leaving me!" Tears began forming in my eyes, I blinked them away. "I love you Louis!" I shouted. "I am in love with you. . ." He was speechless and quiet.

"I knew nothing could happen between us because we are just friends and you even confirmed it yourself!" I shouted. "I confessed everything to you but you have never noticed. You were too oblivious by the girl you love." I rolled my eyes and walked away. "Brooke wait," he said. "What now Louis? I already embarrassed myself enough," I said as I wiped my eyes from the tears that have fallen but that did nothing as they continued to fall and mix in with the rain drops.

"You love me back?" he questions hesitantly. "Yes I do- wait, back?" I asked. He lightly chuckled and came forward. He took my hands in his and kissed the top of my hand before looking me in the eyes. "I love you Brooke for awhile now and I was just too nervous to say something," he admit. "You're the girl I am in love with," he confessed. "The day on your birthday at the roof top, you were the girl I was talking about," he said. He gently wiped my tears away with his thumb. "You're always on my mind," he whispered. "Whenever we talked about that 'girl' I like. It was about you," he said.

"Here I am finally telling you what has been bothering me and why I wouldn't tell you a thing," he said, he lightly chuckled. "I thought you only liked me as a friend," he said, looking for any emotion from me. He licked his lips before speaking again. "I may even be in love with you Brooke," he softly said. With the back of his hand, he pushed back the wet hair that stuck to my cheeks before nod, into my hand again. "Hell, I am in love with you," he said. "I want to be something more I always have." "I do too," I whispered. He put his hand up to my cheek and with such love, he cupped my face in his hands and gently kissed my cheek for only a moment before retrieving to look back at me.

"I can't stop thinking about you. Everywhere I go you're always on my mind. You are so perfect. You're so. . . so beautiful. I have fallen hopelessly in love with you and I don't regret it," he said. "But I couldn't do anything about it because Harry made some stupid rules that I promised I couldn't break," he said. "He doesn't want me to be with you. That's why I couldn't say or do anything." "I don't know if I can be more then just friends," I said. "Well I do," he said, sou ding committed and one-hundred perfect positive. "I'm scared," I admit. "Of falling in love?" he asked. I nodded. "Don't be," he whispered. "It's about taking chances," he said. "Fall and I will catch you. I will be there for you," he said.

"I promise I will keep you safe and protect you," he said. "I don't know Louis. I'm scared of what will happen," I said. "Brooke, I promise you I will always be here for you no matter what," he said. "I won't hurt you." "What will Harry even say?" I asked. "Doesn't matter. I love you too much to not have you," he said. I looked down and a tear slipped from my eye. He lifted my chin up and cupped my face with his hands. He wiped a tear from my eye and slowly leaned forward.

Then, he gently pressed his lips onto mine. I closed my eyes as our lips moved together in perfect sync. I ran my hand through his brown hair and tangled my fingers through it. He smiled as we passionately kissed in the pouring rain. He pressed my back against the tree where we first met and placed his hands on my hips. I wrapped my arms around his neck and pulled him closer to deepen the kiss. He slid his arms around my waist and to rest on my lower back.

He leaned to the side for more of the kiss. We kissed with passion and love. This was the kiss that I always dreamed of having. My first kiss was with Louis- the one I'm in love with. The one who I know will be there for me. The one who will fight for me. The one who will treat me right. I knew when I first met Louis. He was different from any guy. I fell for him hard and quick. I knew there was no turning back after. I never felt this way about someone before. I've never felt so happy and not alone. We were embraced in each others arms for what seemed to be forever.

"I will never leave you," he murmured against my lips, pulling back slightly. "Do you trust me?" he asked. I opened my eyes and stared back. His eyes were filled with hope.

Those next few words I said will change my life. Knowing I will be his. His to hold, to kiss, to be with, to love. These next few words will be something I had trouble with but I knew he will be there for me.

"I trust you."
