Just Getting Started

Jesy, Leigh-Anne, Perrie, and Jade are four aspiring singers that are fresh into the music business. They each share the same dream- to be famous. Working their way up from talent-show performers to X-Factor finalists seemed to be enough work, but little do they know they're just getting started.

1. Chapter 1

Leigh-Anne's P.O.V

I woke up and blinked my eyes a few times to familiarize myself with my surrounding area. "Oh," I sighed. "It's the tour bus." I looked over to see energetic Perrie wide awake as usual. "Morning sleepyhead," she laughed referring to me. "We gotta get up, gotta get ready for the day." I rolled my eyes. "Is it even morning yet?" I asked, looking out the window into the dark sky. "Oh of course it is. The sun's 'still sleeping' as my mum used to put it," said Perrie. "I wiped my eyes. "Well the sun has the right idea," I mumbled. Then, Perrie laughed the loudest, most flamboyant laugh I probably have ever heard. "Dear God, that was hilarious! You know, I'm starting to like you," she said. In an instant, she was gone. After starting off the morning in quite a weird way, I decided to get ready. I finally made it to the bathroom, only to find a girl with long, brown hair and pink pajamas and large pink fluffy slippers brushing her teeth. She saw my reflection in the mirror and turned around to me. "Oh hello," she said, only in a muffled sort of way because it's quite difficult to brush your teeth and speak clearly at the same time. I laughed, and so did she. Then, she turned off her electric toothbrush and rinsed her mouth. "Hi," she smiled. "I'm Jade. Nice to meet you." "Hello, I'm Leigh-Anne, and it's a pleasure to meet you," I responded politely. Suddenly, we both started cracking up because we sounded so proper it was almost fake. "Oh, I just sounded like my mum," I proceeded to laugh. "You would've thought I was meeting the queen," Jade added. Once the laughter had subsided we were finally able to get some words out. "Sorry about earlier," Jade said. "It must've been really gross to see me talking with a mouthful of toothpaste," she chuckled. "Oh it's fine, besides, I've seen more disgusting things considering I have two brothers," I said. "Really? I always wanted a brother, but sadly, I'm the only child," Jade confessed. "Really?" I asked, bewildered at the idea of not having any siblings. "You're so lucky! I'm almost jealous of you!" I said, putting down my toothbrush. "Why?" Jade asked as she continued to brush her hair. "Well, having siblings isn't all it's cracked up to be. It's alright when you're little and you have playmates, but when you're older it's just a huge drab," I explained. "Haha, that sucks," Jade laughed. Suddenly, a girl with dark brown hair walked into the bathroom. "Eh Jade, you've been in here almost an hour, it's my turn!" She yelled. "Okay okay Jesy, gosh," said Jade. She put down the brush and walked out. "My goodness, nearly used up all the water!" Jesy said after feeling the cold water that was supposed to be hot. "Sorry," I said while rinsing off my toothbrush. "It's not your fault," Jesy smiled. "It's Jade. I swear she takes year-long showers in boiling hot water! You would swear she was born in a tea kettle!" I chuckled. "Really?! That's crazy. Well, at least she's nice. I actually just met her!" "You did?" Jesy asked. I shook my head. "Well, it's nice now but once you actually start getting a long you wish you hadn't!" She began rinsing off her toothbrush. "Oh, by the way, I'm Jesy. Jesy Nelson," she smiled. "I'm Leigh-Anne," I said, and left the bathroom.
