2. Chapter 2: Funfair

Today is the day I hangout with Drew at the funfair. Honestly, Im excited. He seems cool and nice.

I put on a bit of makeup and let my straight long black hair cascade down my back in loose curls.I put on a neon orange crop top, my favorite shredded skinny jeans, and neon orange flats.

I packed my purse with my wallet, keys, and lip gloss. I slid my phone in my pocket and went downstairs and out the front door locking it behind me. I went and laid down on my swinging porch chair and waited for Drew.

My phone vibrated and I unlock it to see i had a text from Drew.

Drew,

Im here,love

I sat up and looked into the direction of the street. There standing in all his glory, was drew. He was wearing a plaid button down shirt, blue jeans and converse.

His dark hair was attractively tousled in a messy way, his oceanic blue eyes gleaming in the late day light, and smiling with his one dimple showing.

In other words, he was utterly adorable.

He was leaning on a black challenger. I walked up to him and smiled.

"Hello friend" I smiled.

His dimpled smile dropped.

"Friend?" He asked, with a playful frown playing on his light pink lips. "I thought this was a date."

"No we're just two friends hanging out at the funfair" I smirked.

"Well, That's better than nothing" He smiled his dimple coming to show again. "You look great by the way"

"Thank you"

Just then he lightly grabbed my hand, sending chills up my spine.

Hey, even if i don't date, I still have feelings.

He lead me to the passenger side.

"Thanks" I said as I slid in and strapped up.

He jogged around to the other side, got in and started the 20 minuet drive to the happiest place on earth.

Drew turned the radio on to fill the silence that had settled between us, and my favorite song came on: How To Save A life by The Fray.

"Step one, you say, We need to talk
He walks, you say, Sit down, it's just a talk
He smiles politely back at you

You stare politely right on through" I began to sing looking out the window absentmindedly.

When I began singing the second verse Drew joined in and took my breath away. Hes amazing.

We sang the rest of the song together.

"Some sort of window to your right
As he goes left and you stay right
Between the lines of fear and blame
You begin to wonder why you came

Where did I go wrong? I lost a friend
Somewhere along in the bitterness
And I would have stayed up with you all night
Had I known how to save a life

Let him know that you know best
Cause after all, you do know best
Try to slip past his defense
Without granting innocence

Lay down a list of what is wrong
The things you've told him all along
And pray to God he hears you
And pray to God he hears you

And where did I go wrong? I lost a friend
Somewhere along in the bitterness
And I would have stayed up with you all night
Had I known how to save a life

As he begins to raise his voice
You lower yours and grant him one last choice
Drive until you lose the road
Or break with the ones you've followed

He will do one of two things
He will admit to everything
Or he'll say he's just not the same
And you'll begin to wonder why you came

Where did I go wrong? I lost a friend
Somewhere along in the bitterness
And I would have stayed up with you all night
Had I known how to save a life

Where did I go wrong? I lost a friend
Somewhere along in the bitterness
And I would have stayed up with you all night
Had I known how to save a life

How to save a life
How to save a life

Where did I go wrong? I lost a friend
Somewhere along in the bitterness
And I would have stayed up with you all night
Had I known how to save a life

Where did I go wrong? I lost a friend
Somewhere along in the bitterness
And I would have stayed up with you all night
Had I known how to save a life

How to save a life
How to save a life"

We finished off the song just as we parked. He took the keys out of the car then looked at me with amazement.
"Your an amazing singer" He said.

"No your an amazing singer" I said.

We chuckled and exited the car. We walked up to the ticket booth side by side.

"How may I help you today handsome" The blonde bimbo of a ticket booth worker asked Drew ignoring my presence.
He rolled his eyes.

"Two unlimited wrist bands please." He replied blankly.

"Coming right up honey bun" She winked before turning around and getting two bright green wrist bands.

"Let me see your wrist, sweetie" She cooed to Drew.

He put his arm out and she put the wrist band on being sure to rub his wrist delicately while doing so.

I couldn't help but burn with jealously. She so pretty and im so..me.

I hung my head low at the thought.

"Your wrist" She demanded rudely to me. She snatched my wrist and put the band on as tight as it could go.

"Ouch" I said as I took my wrist back.

"Hey be careful!" Drew warned sending her a cold, hateful glare before wrapping a strong protective arm around my waist and guiding me into the funfair.

"Don't let people like that get to you, ok?" He said to me.

"How could I not when shes so much prettier than me." I said softly holding my head down again.

He stopped walking, faced me and raised my chin to look in his face. I stared deep into his blue orbs, tears stinging the back of my eyes.

"Don't ever say your not pretty or less pretty. Your beautiful Blue. Inside and out. Don't ever let me hear you say that again." He said seriously, staring into my light brown eyes.

I let a single tear slid down my cheek. Then I wrapped my arms tightly around his strong neck and nuzzled my nose into it as he squeezed my waist lightly. We both let go smiling.

I put my hand out for him to take.

"Lets go have some fun" I grinned.

He smiled showing his dimple and we joined hands and went off to have a great night at the funfair.
