Destined

Bay Celeste lives in a world were you are born a witch, a vampire, a werewolf, a fairy, or a hunter. The baby's tears choose one of the elements; extreme curiosity, extreme beauty, extreme strength, extreme naivety, or extreme violence, and your talents arise from there. But there's something wrong with Bay. She couldn't cry the day she was born. Due to this altercation, Bay has grown up with everything. She could cast spells like a witch, she was gorgeous like a vampire, she could read her friends's thoughts like a werewolf, she could fly like a fairy, and she had the instinct to kill vampires, witches, and werewolves like a Hunter. So when she reaches the age of sixteen, she has to choose along with fours others. One single choice could change Bay's life forever.

13. Chapter 13

The first was a blonde girl that very much resembled a fairy with her golden skirt and dainty flats. The second was a scary looking boy with a sleeve of tattoos up to his elbow; I guess he was a mostly werewolf. The third was a girl with black hair, and she was obviously physically a vampire, the look taking over her features. Then there was Rector. All of them were like me? "Hi!" The perky blonde bounces on her toes. She had a southern accent. "I'm Belle! Like the ringing bell, but with a e on the end." She giggles. "Well, I'm Bay." I shake her hand. I soon get to know the others. The black headed girl with the pierced eyes was named Riley. The werewolf looking dude with blonde hair and the tattoos was Dylan. "What are we waiting for?" Riley mumbles. "Don't we choose today?" Then the ground falls out from underneath us.

I spin through the air, screaming with my fellow companions. I land on top of Dylan and he huffs loudly. "I'm so sorry!" I squeak. His arm is covering his face and he groans louder. Was I really that heavy? The I realized where I landed. Right on his crotch. I bite my lip and re group with the others. The ground was tough and hard and it was nighttime, the moon glowing in the sky unnaturally. What was going on? My hair was in a high ponytail and I wore a sky blue sweatshirt and spandex pants with brown combat boots. Everyone was dressed similarity, but with pastel colors. Powder pink, baby yellow, lime green, and light lavender. Basically we practically glowed in the dark. Weapons were on the ground along with tents, backpacks, and canteens of water. "You are the chosen ones." A voice booms. I launch into Rector's arms, terrified. "You must choose your path." Immediately, a golden road was in front of us, a black gnarly one behind. "Uh, I'm taking the sparkly one." Belle steps onto the glistening road and I swallow hard. "Me too." Belle grins. Rector glances at the darkness. "But.....what if this is a test? What if there's something better back there?" "Guys we need to stick together! Come on!" I plead. Belle and I begin to walk down the path and I'm relieved when everyone follows. "We should make camp." Belle suggests. "I'm not staying up all night." The rest of us obliged and we go off the path a little, laying tree branches to remind us where it is when we wake up. During dinner, we eat canned tomato soup silently, staring at the fire. I lay my head on Rector's shoulder and he kisses my hair. "I'm going to bed." Riley yawns and rector stands with her. I feel a pang as he follows her into her tent. "Y'all can go to bed." Belle says faintly. "I need to clean up." I glance at Dylan across the fire and find him already staring at me. We walk into my tent and I zip it up, taking off my combat boots. He does the same and gets really close to me. "Bay I think you're hot." His whispers tickle my ear. "Who knows if we're going to live through this?" I plunge my hands into his hair and take the hint, straddling him and kissing Dylan. I felt so dirty but he was right. I've never made out with a guy in my life. For all I knew, I could die tomorrow. My heart thuds in my chest as I let him kiss me, happy that I had someone in this place.
