Gryffindor and Slytherin have always been each others enemies, but when a Gryffindor prank sets the Slytherins into anger, the grudge is created. No Gryffindor will be near a Slytherin and no Slytherin will go near a Gryffindor. But when a Gryfindor girl and a Slytherin boy become close friends they have no choice but to hide their friendship. Will this grudge ever end? Will their friendship ever be safe?

1. Chapter One

It all started one faithful day during my fourth year at Hogwarts School for witchcraft and wizardry. It was a cool crisp day at the begining of term one, I was busy doing charms homework when my fellow Gryffindor Carly, burst into the library.

"Tess, come quick, they just called a meeting for all of Gryffindor!" she sounded frantic. I quickly gather up all my Transfiguration papers and speed out of the library. I walk very fast, they have never called a meeting in my time, and I don't want to be the one to miss out on everything.

When I get to the Fat Lady, I say "Magicus," the portrait swings open and I walk in. My eyes widen. The common room is packed. Everyone is here. Professor McGonagall is standing on a stool so that everyone can see her.

"Attention please!" She calls. The murmering stops. A hollow silence fills the room. "I have some news for you" she says. "A group of our students have been suspended for a week for the terrible crime of stink bombing the whole Slytherin house" Laughter errupts from the crowd, me included. They must have deserved it. Who wouldn't laugh? "This is not funny!" Professor McGonagall crys. "The gas from the tampered bomb caused an explosion in the fire place, The Slytherins have been forced to evacuate."

"For how long?" Calls a third year.

" A few weeks is my guess, I am sad to inform you that 150 points have been taken off Gryffindor and we are now in last place," Cries of protest rise up around me. This isn't fair! Weren't the suspensions enough? "Now go to bed all of you!" McGonagall tells us.

Slowly and silently we head for our sleeping chambers. I fall asleep fast, and don't dream at all.

The next morning I wake up earlier than usual. I get dressed and wait in the common room for everyone else to wake up. By the time a small group of other fourth years have waken up, it is almost time for breakfast. Teri, Lucy, Zoe and I,  head down to the dining hall.

I can hear the murmur of conversation before we get to the Great Hall. We take our seats at the end of the Gryffindor table. The Slytherin table is packed and they look VERY mad. Our table fills up and Breakfast begins. I help myself to pancakes and mini sausage. I am halfway through my pancake when a group of 4th year Slytherin walk up to my side of the table.

A boy with dark hair and blazing blue eyes stands in front of  me. He looks at us with disgust and hatred, his face twisted. "We're going to make Gryffindor pay you know" he tells us with a snarl.

"What are you going to do? " asks Tori. "Return the dung bombs!" I laugh, the boy glares at me. I role my eyes.

"We won't forget this in a hurry!" He warns again.

I smile knowingly and cross my arms. "It is pretty hard to forget when you lose" I say, The boy and his group give me a look of pure poison.

"Gryffindor better watch their backs, because one day, we will get you back. You'll regret the day you ever messed with Slytherin." Shivers run down my spine. The group leaves. I think they meant what they said. The idea scares me. Slytherin will get us back. Or at least try. I can feel it.
