Walking The Dead

Cameron has a rough life, even before the apocalypse. Her family is dead and she only has a few important people in her life now and she can't lose any more. She wants to survive and be happy but she knows she can't have both. When romance sparks, and her sister has an accident, Cameron doesn't think she wants to do it anymore. Can she survive everything that happens?

6. Trouble

*Cameron's point of view*

I ran as fast as I could towards the door to try and stop Sean from leaving.

"Where the hell are you going?" I grabbed his arm trying to pull him back.

"You told me to leave, so I am being the respectful man that I am," Sean was so mad, but he didn't have a good enough reason to be.

"You can't just leave, we need you here!" I was being honest, we really did need him here. We needed the muscle, and the brains, and him. He was an amazing person, to be honest. He made everyday brighter with just his choice of words.

*Sean's POV*

"Why!? I know for a fact you'd rather be with that Carl guy instead of me," I shouldn't have said that. She doesn't know that I like her.

"What?" Cameron looked pretty confused.

"What?" I didn't really want to repeat that, I was embarrassed enough as it is.

"What do you mean by that?" She had furrowed brows.

"What did I say?" I had to change the subject as quick as I could, but this was going to be hard to cover up.

"You said that I'd rather be with that Carl guy instead of you. What did you mean by that?" She looked even more confused and maybe a little angry.

"Um, I, well, I haven't gotten enough sleep, you know, k-keeping watch and staying alert for the past few days. I'm just really over tired, I-I think I'll just go have a really long nap," I walked past her towards the house, swearing to myself over and over in my head.

*Cameron's POV*

I started walking up towards the house after Sean, I wasn't quite sure what had just gone on just then.

Puzzled as I was, I stopped in my tracks. I heard moaning, lots of moaning. I turned around to face the road and saw this huge herd that Carl was talking about when he explained how he got here. Luckily, the driveway was pretty long and twisty and the house was kind of in the forest. I sprinted inside the house, hoping none of the walkers saw me. I opened and closed the door quickly but quietly.

"Everybody, be quiet!" I couldn't yell but i didn't want to whisper and risk no one hearing me.

Everyone stopped talking.

"What's happening?" Carl sounded alert with his gun in his hand ready to fire, Rick had his knife in hand looking around for any sign that we were under attack.

"Remember that herd of walkers you told us about when you got here?"

"Yeah, it was huge, why?" Carl started breathing heavy with wide eyes. He knew what was happening now.

"Well, it looks like we might be having some company."
