9. Chapter Nine

Of course, North and Tooth were smart enough to know Jack had gone after Elsa.

So North checked her location again.

She hadn't left New York yet, and that made them realize how cruel it had been to leave her behind.

She was confused and lost, in New York City of all places.

They didn't want to waste any time, Jack and Elsa needed to be found.

So before they knew it, they were flying a sleigh above New York City, scouring the crowds for a couple of white haired kids.

️ Elsa sat in a dark, dirty alley with her knees hugged to her chest.

The city lights were beautiful, but scary, and certainly not welcoming. In her small alley the sounds of the city were slightly muffled.

As she watched people walk by, she began to wonder what each of them was doing.

Everyone had somewhere to go but her.

Everyone had something to do.

Everyone had someone.

Elsa paused at that last thought.

What did she know about all these people, really?

Maybe they didn't have someone.

Maybe they didn't have something to do or somewhere to go, maybe they were just...wandering.

A girl walked past with short brown hair, accented with crazy colors here and there.

Her bangs were dyed a bright purple and they hung in her eyes.

It was quite possibly the hair that had caught Elsa's eye, but for whatever reason she couldn't stop staring.

Elsa stood and began to follow the girl, weaving through the crowd.

The girl continued to trudge forward in her black army boots.

Her short purple sundress didn't exactly compliment the shoes, but the girl somehow made it work.

However, Elsa wondered how she wasn't cold without sleeves on this chilly fall night.

Suddenly, the girl took a sharp turn into an alley, and was nearly lost in the crowd.

Elsa sped up to keep track of her.

Further and further into the darkness of the unexplored places of the city she followed her.

She watched as the girl ducked into an old, seemingly abandoned, building through a broken window.

Elsa paused for a moment, wondering how safe this was, but then she remembered she was immortal and quickly followed the girl in.

Although she knew she couldn't be seen, Elsa still tried to stay hidden.

She slowly inched around the corner of the room the girl was in and heard a soft giggle, sweet but mischievous.

"You could have knocked, I would have invited you in." A young voice said.

Elsa came around the corner cautiously.

The girl was sitting in front of a vanity with a broken mirror.

Her reflection was disturbed by the cracks in the glass, but Elsa could still see her striking green eyes, rimmed in dark eyeliner, quite clearly.

"It's strange..most people can't see me. Who are you?" When Elsa didn't respond, the girl turned her head slightly.

She had a petit profile, with a slightly upturned nose and small, pursed lips.

"I-I'm Elsa.." Elsa said quietly, then tilted her head, thinking.

"..people can't usually see me either...who are YOU?" She asked, cautiously beginning to back out of the room.

The girl giggled again, then turned around and stared into Elsa's eyes.

"The name's Rapunzel." She stood up and reached a hand out toward Elsa.

"But Punzie works just fine."️

Jack came to in the shadows of the old shack.

He heard to voices but couldn't see a thing.

"She's found the other one, sir."

One voice said.

"You mean to tell me they're together?" An angry voice replied.

It was the voice that had haunted Jack before.

"Yes, sir...together. It's only a matter of time before.."

The first voice was cut off by the second.

"Get out of here. I want the two separated by dawn, or you'll be the one to suffer the consequences."

So I've kind of been having some issues with family lately and haven't been able to write..

I can't promise the next chapter will be on time either, but I'll try my best.

I've had a lot of unfollowers, but to those of you who've stuck with me, thank you so much, I love you.

Until next time...
