Crash of Olympus

Delia Nelson is new to Camp Half-Blood. She doesn't understand why no one ever told her "Hey, you're a demigod." if so many people knew about her. And the whole Greek Mythology thing never really intrigued her. But now, she has to adjust to a new life full of it. Especially because her parent is a god or goddess. On top of all that, everyone at camp is freaking out because some "Great Prophecy" seems to be happening right before their eyes. Only the prophecy isn't really that great, and it could involve a lot of deaths. And of course, Delia has something to do with it.

19. Chapter 19

**Delia**

Another day went by and we weren't so lucky with our encounters with the transformers. They seemed to sense us now. When we got close enough to see them, the changed and headed over to us.

Most of them attacked us. We knew how to handle it. Turns out, they really hate water. So all we had to do was get Percy to summon a puddle or something.

I felt bad that I couldn't help. I should be able to, but no matter how much I tried I couldn't do anything with water, and Percy had to save me. I was starting to question if I really was a daughter of Poseidon.

We had Leo call camp and tell them everything that has been happening. Annabeth said that she missed all of us and that it felt good to hear his voice, since she hasn't seen any of us for two days.

Currently, Percy and Annabeth are having a conversation.

I sat next to Leo and poked at the flames with a stick.

"So," Leo started, "how are you?"

"I'm good. How are you?"

"Good."

Awkward silence.

"How did you get lost?"

"I took a wrong turn."

"Oh."

Another one.

We could hear Percy talking a few trees away. He was saying something about dad and I. And something about Leo.

I kinda figured the thing about me was that I probably wasn't Percy's sister, but I didn't see how Leo fit into this.

"What did Annabeth say?" I asked.

"She misses us."

"Anything on the transformers?"

"No."

"Did Nico ask Hades?"

"Apparently, he's at Camp Jupiter right now."

"Oh. Right."

"Hey, when's your birthday?"

"December 13th, why?"

"Just curious."

"All right."

Leo got up, and walked over to a tree. "Did I ever tell you the story of me finding a dragon?"

"No."

"Oh. Well... Two years ago, the camp was totally lost. This massive dragon was loose in the woods. When I say massive, I mean massive. Like, frickin' White House massive. Not even the leader of the Ares cabin, Clarisse, could catch it."

"Then how'd you do it?"

"I did it with style, Chickadee. I snuck out of my cabin, and found it in the woods. Keep in mind this thing is colossal. Okay, so there I was, a few feet behind this killer thing. And I jumped on it. I wrestled it to the ground and knocked it out with my macho skills."

I laughed.

"So then, I managed to train it with amazing speed, 'cause I'm just that good. And he became my dragon, Festus."

"Festus means--"

"Yeah, I know. Happy. But he was a happy dragon, once I got him under control."

Someone laughed behind me. "That's not how it happened." Percy said, sitting next to me.

"Pft. Yeah it was."

"Delia, what Leo forgot to mention is that Festus is a robotic dragon. When Leo trained him, he shut him down and rewired stuff. And he didn't know that Festus meant happy until Jason told him. At least that's what Piper says."

"Sure, sure. Believe what you want. But, my story? That's how it happened."

"I'm sure it is, Curly." I giggled.

We took shifts. Percy took first watch. I didn't argue. I was ready for some sleep.

But I wasn't exactly ready for the dreams.

My mothers soft voice sang the song Asleep by The Smiths. When I was little she used to love singing that song to me.

"Sing me to sleep. Sing me to sleep. I'm tired and I, I want to go to bed."

I watched her stoke the baby's cheek. She looked so happy and caring, like a normal mother should. She picked up the baby and walked it over to its crib.

"Sing me to sleep, sing me to sleep. And then leave me alone. Don't try to wake me in the morning cause I will be gone.."

I followed her upstairs into my old room. Gently, she placed the baby into her crib.

"Don't feel bad for me, I wan--" she stopped singing to the sound of the front door slamming shut.

She covered the baby with a blanket and placed a stuffed animal next to the child.

I stood next to her listening to her whisper.

"I'm sorry about Brandon. He'll be gone soon I promise. We can be a good family then, and you'll be safe. That's all I care about. You need to be safe. No matter what the cost is."

I closed my eyes. I wanted to wake up.

"Lacy, give me the baby!"

"No! She's better off with me!"

"She doesn't deserve this! You're dangerous! Give me her!"

"No! Delia is my daughter! I can take care of her."

I glanced over at the baby. Her hazel eyes shined. Her black hair was in little curls on her head.

I didn't want to witness what was about to happen. Not my past self, nor my future self. I tried turning around, I only saw the events unfold in the mirror.

"Delia can actually have a chance with me!"

"You aren't even her father! I'm bringing her to her dad!"

"Oh my god-- how can you be so stupid? Poseidon isn't real! He--"

"Poseidon is real! He's my child's father!"

"I can't let her stay here with you, you're insane." He picked me up from the crib.

"Put her down!"

"Where's the diaper bag?"

I tried pulling on his arm. "Put me down!" I screamed. "It's not worth it! Brandon please!"

Nothing happened. He turned his back towards my mom and started down the stairs.

Mom lingered in my room. I watched her turn and rip the shelf off of the wall. "She's my child." She said. "Mine."

Tears were rolling down my face. "No! Don't!"

She walked strait through me and downstairs. Brandon was opening the front door. A few seconds of silence passed and a baby started crying.

I covered my ears and closed my eyes tightly, but I could still hear everything and see everything happening.

"Stop it, please! NO! I wanna wake up! LET ME WAKE UP!"

The sound of wood hitting the floor echoed around the house.

I didn't have to look to know what was downstairs. I already knew that my mom murdered Brandon Nelson.

I heard her running back up the stairs, crying baby in hand.

"Shut up! Shut up! We need to leave with out anyone hearing. Shut up!"

She starting humming Asleep while hurriedly shoving things into a diaper bag.

I stayed in the corner in a ball, sobbing.

"Delia shut up!"

I shook my head. "I wanna wake up."

"Delia!" My mom shouted.

"No."

"Delia!" Was that my mom?

"Stop it, you're a monster!"

"Delia, wake up!"

I sat up to see Percy's green eyes looking into mine with deep concern. I was relieved to see a familiar face and hugged him tightly in my arms.

"What happened?"

"Sh-she killed him."

"Who? Who killed him?"

"My mom." I choked out.
