6. Chapter Five

Jamie's P.O.V.

"Where did I leave those tickets?" Ellen asked. That's when I came in, holding the 1D tickets. I hugged Ellen and sat down across from her. "So mainly, we're all asking the same question right now- what's your status on relationship?" Ellen yelled, and I laughed. "It's complicated. I mean the fans have heard rumors and I know the truth but there's only one way to figure that out." I told her.

"So?" Ellen asked. "Well, I am single. Rumors are just rumors. But who knows? Maybe I'll find my Romeo out there somewhere." I told her and she laughed. "So there's also a rumor that you're secretly releasing an album. We never knew you were a singer!" Ellen commented. I laughed and nodded. "That's a fact. It might come out in early May, or late July. So don't miss out on buying it on iTunes. It's really mostly on covers." I explained.

"We have one more guest, Jamie." Ellen told me. "That's right! Cam, get out here, you butt." I called and Cameron came out. The fans were now screaming and crying. They really do love him. "So there's a couple of new hashtags on twitter. Can we see them?" Ellen asked us.

"Of course!" We said. "#Camie4evah, #Jameronfolife, #dabutts, #bestielove, #JamiemakesCamHappy and #CamisJamieshapiness followed by an MKTO hashtag. Wow. Practically everyone ships you two together." Ellen said. Cameron laughed. "#dabutts was something I mentioned that Jamie would call us when we were super lazy two years ago." He said. "And #bestielove was something a fan came up with when Carter was filming a video for his channel and caught us having a bestie moment while watching White Chicks." I said.

"Have you two known each other for a long time?" Ellen asked. Cameron and I were thinking. "Well, I think we first met at a soccer field-" I cut Cameron off by slamming my hand on his mouth. "Jeez, you have it all wrong. At the playground." I told him. "No it wasn't." He said.

"Yes it was." I said. He shook his head. "Mm-mm. Gurl, chu got your facts wrong. HAIL NAH, dis bestie gotz da wrong info, mmhmmmmm." He said, all sassy. I burst out laughing. "Who are you, Kim Kardashian? Hell nah, I ain't falling for dis bull skittles. How did I get on the field when I was stuck on the monkey bar cuz you dared me to? Mmhmmmmm." I sassed back, snapping my fingers. He then looked at me sheepishly.

"You're right." He muttered. I got all sassy, crossed my legs, and went Sofia Vergara on him. "Pedaco de mierda carajo, claro que estoy correcta! Que imbecil va decir que yo soy mal. Ahora me llama estupida. No, no, no, no. Ahi si que no." I rambled off in Spanish, lecturing him. Ellen started laughing with the crowd and fans. "Do you even know what she's saying?" She asked Cameron.

"No." He said, laughing. "But back to the point, about three or two years. Maybe four." I told her.

Cameron's POV

I only stared at Jamie while she talked. How I still manage to like her, I have no idea. The way she smiles, the way she laughs, her expressions, etc. Everything about her makes me smile. "Ellen, what do I do? He keeps on staring at me." Jamie mumbled.

"What?" I asked. "You kept on staring at me for a while." She said, smiling. "I'm just glad I have my bootiful bestie back." I told her, as I brought her onto my lap and hugged her. She laughed and hugged me back, kissing my cheek. The crowd "awed" and cheered.

"So if you guys did date, what ship name would it be? Jameron or Camie?" Ellen asked us. "Jameron." We said at the same time. We all laughed. "Did you use to like each other back in the old days?" She asked. "Well, I did have a small crush on Cam, but I was young. It didn't really matter. Plus, I wouldn't want to interfere with the fans. I mean, how many of these girls want to marry him, am I right?" Jamie asked. The crowd started screaming and I laughed.

"Would it hurt breaking a small tiny rule?" I asked her, bringing her closer to me. "Hmmm, I don't know." Jamie teased. "Püma!!" I yelled, now having a triple chin. Jamie burst out laughing. "What does Püma mean? Teenage slang these days." Ellen said.

Jamie hesitated before showing what it meant on her phone to Ellen. The crowd and us started laughing at Ellen's reaction. "I feel bad for Jamie being around all those boys." She said and I fake gasped. "Well, that's all the time we have with the best friend couple today!! Stay tuned for more!" Ellen said, soon ending the show.

~ at the restaurant~

"You still like her, don't you?" Nikki asked me. I nodded. "Trust me, she probably lost all of those feelings." I told her. "She's your best friend. Go see why she's all jittery right now. You care about her, don't you?" Nikki said before we headed into the restaurant. After a while, I followed Jamie until I was outside of the restroom.

"I don't think I can do this anymore." Jamie said. Phone. Ohhhhhh. "What, you just want me to come clean? It isn't that easy to just tell Cam my feelings, Jer." She said. It was soon quiet.

"I don't like him, Jeremy." She whispered. And that's when my heart sunk. "I can't just tell him that." Jamie said. "You could've just told me before." I said. She hung up her phone and turned to me.

"Cameron, no. It wasn't like that. Let me explain." She said. "No, it was, Jamie. Do you enjoy getting my attention? Does it make you the least upset that you played with me?" I asked her. "Cameron, just please listen." She said. "At least tell the truth. To me, for once." I told her before leaving her there. I made eye contact with Nikki and shook my head.

"I'm so sorry." She mouthed towards me. I soon called over a can and it took me home. "Hey, where's Jamie?" Nash asked. "I don't know. And I don't care." I muttered, before leaving the room. I got all my things and put them in Aaron's room since he had another bed.

Jamie's POV

I ran out of the bathroom and walked over to Nikki. "Do you feel better now for hurting him? He really liked you, Jamie." She told me. "No, Nikki. You don't understand. I don't like him." I said. "So what did you want to tell him? That you hate him?" She asked me. "I love him, Nikki! I love him." I said, tearing up a bit.

Her gaze softened. "How long?" She asked. "Three years." I whispered. "I'm driving you home." She said. As we got home, she took my hand.

"He'll forgive you." She said. "You don't understand. I've known him for so long. He won't forgive me." I whispered, before walking inside. I saw Nash, Carter, and Aaron inside. "Where's Cameron?" I asked. "He doesn't want to see you, Jamie." Aaron whispered.

"You know, you messed up big time. He really liked you." Carter said. "I need to tell him the truth. I didn't really like him. I really didn't." I started, but Nash cut in. "So you're gonna go off on how you wanted to date this Jeremy guy and rub it in his face? Cuz you're messed up if you thought of that." Nash said. That's it. "No! God damn it, Nash! I love him! I'm in love with him! And Jeremy has a girlfriend. I was trying to ask him for advice on how to tell Cameron that and he got off the wrong foot. I would never hurt him on purpose!" I yelled. They all looked at me in surprise.

"That's right Nash. I'm in love with my best friend, that's the truth." I said, before running up to Aaron's room. By then I was in my pjs. "Cam, open the door!" I yelled. I knocked on the door so many times, I couldn't remember. 20 minutes later, everyone was watching as I sat on the floor, leaning on the door with a few tear stains on my face.

"Cameron Alexander Dallas, please open the door." I whispered. "No." He yelled. And that's when I broke down in front of everybody. Matt, Shawn, and Taylor tried comforting me but I almost kicked their faces. "Get away from me! I ruined everything!" I screamed, getting up by myself.

"No you didn't." Jack G said. "Yes I have. I've known Cameron since I was ten. He never forgave someone so easily like this. I've ruined our entire friendship over advice on a phone call. It's all my fault. All because of me." I said, whispering the last part. I quietly closed the door to my room and got into bed and cried. Because I lost the guy who was my best friend and my crush. And I was afraid I wouldn't get another chance to fix these small pieces back together.
