Problems

"Head in the clouds, got no weight on my shoulders"
~
When I was little, I thought life was perfect. But now, everything is a lie. I face things every single day ever since my mom died. About 80 percent of them involve my dad. He wants me to be something that I'm not, and it's stupid. I can't change myself, but in order to appease to him, I made this compromise with him. This compromise was worse than what he wants me to actually be. I've got 99 problems. But you, Ashton, won't be one.

26. It was the best of times, it was the worst of times part 1

I didn't think that on a Saturday night at the club I would sneak my friends into the back room.

But it happened.

It all started when I woke up that morning. Yes, sounds cliche but don't judge. As I went to check my phone I check on Twitter and I realize something.

That's when I text Marlee.

Me: OH MY GOD MAR ZOE SUGG'S BOOK COMES OUT NEXT TUESDAY!

Marlee the Amazing: I KNOW YOUVE BEEN TALKING ABOUT IT SINCE I TOLD YOU ABOUT IT!

Me: I just hope it's not a really cliche book.

Marlee the Amazing: It's her first book, so let's save prejudice for later. By the way, why the fuck are you up so early?

Me: I'm going out to breakfast with Ashton.

Marlee the Amazing: OH MY GOD IM SHIPPING YOU TWO EVEN MORE

Me: GOD MAR WERE JUST FRIENDS!

Of course we are. I don't like him that much anyways.

I then began to get dressed as I'm texting Marlee. Then I had to say I had to go when I saw Ashton pull into my driveway. I grab my bag and slip on my tennis shoes walking out the door. Even though this was only breakfast, or breakfast date as his mom says, I decided to look nice: A nice yellow top and a black button down skirt and black biker boots with a grey cardigan.

As I was heading downstairs, I can smell Audrey making her world famous pancakes. "I already made a chocolate chip batch for you." She said.

I flash a smile at her and says, "Oh, I'm going out for breakfast with someone this morning." Her eyes widen.

"Who?"

"Ashton?"

"Oh the nice boy you went to homecoming with last month?"

"Yes."

"You two have fun."

That was the end of the conversation when I hear a car horn. Audrey and I both flinch at the loud sound.

"I hope your father didn't hear that." She says finishing up the pancakes.

"Don't we all." I walk out of the house and in the driveway where Ashton was currently parked.

I walk over to the passengers side to get in and he smiles at me pulling out of the driveway.

We had a good talk on the drive until we reached IHop. I haven't been here in ages!

Once we got out of the car and sat down in an area that had a lot of old people, Ashton finally says, "I finished the second book." Uh oh.

I was so busy with other things I forgot the questions! Wait, the Internet.

"Hold on." I pull out my phone and I begin to look up questions.

"What was Manette's reaction to Darnay asking to marry Lucie?"

"He was hesitant at first, but then he let Darnay marry Lucie."

"Who does Carton sympathized while being taken to the tumbrel?"

"A seamstress who was accused as a spy. He comforted her until the very end."

"What happened to Lucie at Darnay's trial?"

"She fainted and Sydney Carton and Mr. Manette took her back to her house."

He got all of them right.

"Good job. All three correct." I say as he hands me the book that he brought with him.

One more book.

Three more questions.

If he gets it right, he'll win.

I'm sorry I haven't updated in ages!! I had gotten really busy and mostly in a writers block!

I need one more book for the bet. One that I maybe have read before because I went to the Internet to look up questions for Connor to ask.

Also, yes I have read Zoë Sugg's book and the sequel. I enjoyed both of them.

So that's all. Have a good day!!
