"Head in the clouds, got no weight on my shoulders"
When I was little, I thought life was perfect. But now, everything is a lie. I face things every single day ever since my mom died. About 80 percent of them involve my dad. He wants me to be something that I'm not, and it's stupid. I can't change myself, but in order to appease to him, I made this compromise with him. This compromise was worse than what he wants me to actually be. I've got 99 problems. But you, Ashton, won't be one.

30. first base

When I was about six, maybe younger I don't know, I always thought about what it would be like to kiss a handsome stranger when in a coma or breaking a curse from a prince by saying that I love him.

When I was thirteen, I didn't want to kiss anyone after hearing what kissing can lead to. Thanks Mr. Burns' health class.

When I was sixteen, I had to try my hardest to not kiss anyone after my father told me I had to work at the club as a waitress around drunk men.

Now that I'm eighteen, I regret everything I ever thought about kissing. Because Ashton's kiss was nothing like I thought a first kiss would be.

He was very gentle and his lips tasted like peppermint with an essence of spice. They were soft and warm moving against my lips as I tried to match his slow pace.

Look, it's my first kiss I'm learning here people. I read romance novels and the occasional fanfictions of certain ships (hashtag Destiel hashtag Malec).

He grabbed my waist and pulled me closer to him and his pace began going a bit faster. I catch up with him, and I now know what it feels like to feel like you're hooked on a feeling.

Because that's me.

He was the first to pull away slowly and he looks into my eyes as I do the same with his. I could only really say one word after our little session. "Wow."

He chuckled and I do the same. Literally we were both speechless. "I think...that was probably the best first kiss I've had with a girl in a long time."

"Wait, what?" I ask.

"Remember in fifth grade that one day during recess where a boy ran out from under the playground yelling cooties?" I nod. That was a funny memory that I then told mom about. Then she gave me the talk. "That boy was me. I was kissed by Ava Henderson."

I cover my mouth at the fact that he just said that, also to prevent laughter from erupting.

After that, we went up to my room and we told our embarrassing stories.

I told him about the speech I gave back in sixth grade that I won't talk about.

He told me about when he twisted his ankle in gym class during dancing hoedowns and such.

We kissed.

I told him more about me as he told me more about him.

I think we spent more time kissing then telling each other embarrassing stories.

And then we decided on something that would pretty much change everything.

We changed our Facebook status from "single" to "in a relationship".

Basically we're dating now.
