Do you ever just see a beautiful stranger? Not just a stranger that looks nice, but a really beautiful stranger who just captures you with the way they look and the way they act and makes you think about them at 2 am. A beautiful stranger that leaves you wonder struck and makes you somehow want to see them again and be with them forever yet at the same time, make you want to stay away from them so they remain this mysterious beautiful person that's in the world that would never hurt you.
I should have gone with the latter.

Ethan's point of view

A few days pass and Rosy still doesn't try to talk to me. I see her around a few times. I don't say hi and she doesn't notice me but she seems great and I know that I should leave her alone. She just looks so confident and happy. She's always wearing these really pretty clothes and hair hair looks immaculate and I see boys looking at her with awe in their eyes which makes me a bit jealous but also happy for her because that's what fifteen year old girls want. I shouldn't ruin that. I know that I should just let her live her life without me but she told me that just because she was going back to her family didn't mean that she had to give me up. She told me that it wasn't a choice between us but it was and that bothers me.

I go over to her house one night and knock on the door. Her dad answers and it's a very surreal experience because he smiles at me, looking like the kindest man I've ever seen.

"Hi, sir." I say, gulping.

He chuckles. "Ethan, don't look so nervous. What's past is past, right? Do you want to see Rose?"

I smile gratefully. "Thank you. Um, yeah, please. If that's okay."

"It's fine by me." he steps aside, letting me in. "I don't know how she'll feel about it though."

I nod as he wishes me luck and we both laugh a little. He's a nice guy really. I'm glad the worst days are behind us. I walk up the stairs to Rosy's room and knock on the door, opening it a little.

She just sits there surrounded by revision. Her hair is a mess, she's just got a little makeup on and she looks like the Rosy I always knew. Not this new Rosy that's over me.

"What are you doing here?" she asks, quietly.

"I wanted to see you." I say. "Can I come sit with you?"

She shrugs. "I guess."

She moves her revision things out of the way and I sit on the end of her bed. We're silent for a moment until she speaks up.

"I heard about what you did to Josh with the coffee."

I press my lips together so I don't laugh. "Yeah?"

The smallest of smiles crosses her lips as she looks at me. "Yeah."

"I'm kind of flattered." she admits with a little laugh. "Why did you do that?"

"Because looking after him was apparently your pleasure." I repeat her words back to her, looking at her seriously. "Rosy tell me you didn't actually sleep with him."

"Of course I didn't, E." she sighs, shaking her head. "I still love you."

I frown. "But you just seemed so over me. You just always looked so nice and confident and happy-"

"Oh that was just some stupid act." she shakes her head. "I was just trying to convince myself I was okay when I wasn't. I was just acting okay to hurt you on the chance that you saw me."

"It did hurt." I admit. "It hurt to think that you were over me because I was a mess."

She sighs sadly and reaches her hand out, taking mine. She pulls me gently down beside her, pushing her things to the floor so there's room for the two of us on her tiny bed. She faces away from me but lets me pull her close. Really close. I push her hair out of the way and kiss her neck, resting my head in the place I kissed.

"Sorry." I whisper. "I'm really sorry."

"I am too." she whispers back. I see her smile a little. "We'll be okay."

I smile too. "We'll be okay."
