Dragon-Age

The tales of old with dragons flying always excited Ariela. The stories told around the fire of those who did not fight the dragons but did something greater in deed, they rode them...

What if the tales of old were really not all forgotten, what if the dragons dead to the world were not dead at all, what if they were still out there, watching and waiting for the day to come when a rider would be chosen...

11. What home was really like

Walking outside led me into a whole new idea of where i was. There was many people traing I with bows and swords. I walked around in awe for quite some time. Then all of a sudden I heard a screech from the air. With a giant whoosh of wind Nadeen landed next to me astride a pale blue dragon. I could feel the chills emanating off of it. His voice broke into my gaze at the mighty beast. "Glad to see you are out of bed Ariela." "Um, yeah I replied. You never told me you were a rider as well." My voice stumbled the words out. I was shocked that there were others like me. "Sorry, let me introduce you, this is Himesh. It means Snow king. I am an ice rider. I control the powers of the cold. Completely contradictory to yourself, rider of fire." There was a little glint in his eye. I couldn't figure out what it was though... I greeted the dragon the way I spoke to Atu. And then Nadeen interpreted. "Would you like me to take you to your companion?" I almost let out a little squeal as I spoke her name. Bidding furiously I jumped onto the back of Himesh and we rode up into the clouds.

The landing was executed perfectly. We settled up by a cliff near the camp. I could see an orange glow emanating from inside the cave. I could sense Atu's presence nearby. I almost fell off the cliff as I scrambled off Himesh to find Atu. I missed her so much. Rushing to her side I curled up and hugged her. It was so good being able to communicate with her again. I conversed with her and asked how she had been. She was fine a was I. Nadeen interrupted the conversation. "Um, we should probably get back to camp... Want to race?" His eyes dancers playfully like fresh snow falling. My pride flared up as I said. I'll race, whether you will be fast enough is up to you. Jumping onto Atu we launched into the air and left Nadeen in the dust. Soon enough he was flying past us. "Where are you going?!" I yelled as he turned away from camp. "Oh just a little place I know." I followed him, intrigued by this adventure. So we swooped down into a small clearing. The scenery was beautiful but inside the clearing was amazing. It was like nothing I had ever seen before...
