9. the camp

We were greeted by a bunch of cross bows pointed at us. I raised my hands in surrender and they lowered their weapons. It was then I collapsed to the ground...

I awoke to see leather surrounding me, a temporary hut of some sorts had been constructed here and by the looks of it I was in my own. Panic surged through me when I couldn't see Atu. Where was she?! Frantically I got up but almost blacked out again. Slowly laying myself down in the stretcher I calmed myself down and slowed my breathing. Just as I began to reassure myself the gap into the tent opened and a tall boy of around my age, maybe a year older entered. His piercing blue eyes invaded my warmth. Yet it did not extinguish it, only calmed it. His voice was deep yet suited his body shape "hey, I am Nadeen. Are you feeling ok?" I managed to stutter back with as much voice as I could muster out of my vocal chords "um, yeah... Do you know where my dragon is?" "Yeah I do." He replied. His looked graced the cut on my head, I must have hit a stone pretty hard when I fainted. "Let me clean that up for you." Casually he came over and sat down on the bed, his hands gracefully swabbing the cut as applying a thick paste which instantly took away the pain and the throbbing. "Thankyou" I gasped, but he still hadn't told me where Atu was. "But, umm sorry to ask again but where is my dragon?" "She is fine, you will see her soon. But you must rest first." I was about to protest but then I felt a sort of drowsiness over come me, I really was tired. Just then as I layed myself down I remembered I hadn't even told Nadeen my name. "By the way, I'm Ariela..." My voice faded as I slipped into a deep sleep...
