Finally found

"I'm lost, that's all I am. I just want to find my place in the world. I just want to find where I belong."

"Well It's not here, so leave."

"Wait, please, please help me. I just want to be found. I promise if you help me I'll leave you alone."

"No just stay away from me and my family. Just go away."

3. The family I don't know

Cassidy's POV

I sat in the tree with yet another problem that would change my life, I couldn't believe this. I was going to go to a new school with out my friends and my grandmother just died. I didn't know what to do, I didn't know what to think. I called my mom to ask her some questions because I couldn't ask her face to face. If I saw my mom crying, I was sure I would break down. I called her and she picked up after a while, when she answered the phone I heard a lot of sniffling on the other line.

"Um, hi mom."

"W-where did y-you run off t-to?"

"Oh, um I just went to the back yard."

"Y-your in the woods again, aren't you?"

"Ya, um I just wanted to ask you a few questions. Is that ok?"

"Ya go ahead."

"Ok, um am I allowed to go to the funeral?"

"No, I don't want you going. You never met her or anyone on my side of the family so I don't want you going."

"Ya about that, why haven't I met anyone from your side of the family? Or on dad's side for that matter?"

"Because, because we just haven't had time to get together with them."

"Well you all are about to go see them, so why can't I come?"

"Cassidy, we don't have money for another plane ticket, ok? Now just drop the subject, do you have any questions that aren't about family?"

"Ya, when will you be back?"

"In three weeks."

"Why is it going to take you so long?"

"Your father and I are going on a business trip after the funeral."

"Ok, that's all bye."

"Bye." Why was she so acting so weird when I started talking about my family?

This may sound weird but I have never met anyone in my family, other than my parents. I know my mom said it's because we never have time to meet up with them, but I don't believe her. There must be another reason I have never met them. Maybe they are trying to protect me, maybe my family is crazy and they would try to hurt me or something. I doubt that, but I guess it's possible.

I must have stayed in that tree for hours because when I looked at a clock it was eight o'clock and I was hungry. I wanted to get something to eat, but I didn't really want to go home. If I went home I would see my mom and well, you know. I thought about going to Isabella's house, I'm always welcome there. 'If I went there, they would probably ask me a bunch of questions. It is also the only place I can go right now, I mean I could go to Scarlett's and Pearl's but they would give me a lot of sympathy about my grandmother. I guess I would get sympathy form Isabella, but  would really get it from Scarlett and Pearl. I really didn't want any sympathy, I don't want to go to Chloe's because her foster parents aren't very nice to her and especially to her guests.' I decided to go to Isabella's so I climbed down the tree and made my way out of the woods.

On my way there I started to think about my grandmother. Because I never knew her I didn't really fell emotional about her dieing. I thought I should have at least felt bad about my grandmother being death and all, but to tell you the truth, I didn't feel anything. I mean I felt bad that she died but I didn't feel sad. I didn't feel like a person who just lost someone should feel, not sad, not depressed, not heart broken, not anything. I wished I could have seen her at least once, I didn't get to meat her. I don't even think she knew I existed, which is pretty sad. A grandmother who didn't know she had a granddaughter.

I arrived at Isabella's at about eight thirty. I walked up to the front door to ring the doorbell so I rang the bell and it took a minute for someone to open the door. Finally her mother came to the door and greeted me.

"Oh, hello Cassidy." She said.

"Hi Mrs. Grant."

"What brings you here so late?" She asked out of curiosity.

"Um, I'm here to see Isabella. Is she home?" I asked.

"Yes, would you like me to get her for you?"

"If you don't mind."

"Alright, one moment." She said. A couples of seconds later, Isabella appeared at the door.

"Hey Cassidy, what's up?"

"I couldn't go home."

"Why not?"

"Well, my grandmother just died and my mom-"

"Oh my God, I'm so sorry!" She said and hugged me.

"It's ok really, it's just that my mom is really sad and crying a lot. When she cries a lot I cry and I didn't fell like crying tonight."

"Are you not sad?"

"Not really."

"You don't miss her?"

"No, but of course I never met her so there's nothing for me to miss."

"Oh ya, I forgot that you never met her. Well come on in, you can stay here tonight." She pulled me into the house and up to her room.

"Mom, Cassidy is going to stay the night tonight, ok?" She yelled to her mom.

"I guess so, why does she need to stay the night?"

"Her grandmother died and her mom is crying and when her mom cries she cries and she didn't want to cry and she doesn't miss her grandmother and isn't crying because she never met her, ok?" she said all in one breath.

"Oh well that's fine. I'm sorry for you loss Cassidy." Her mom said to me. See? This is exactly what I didn't want, sympathy.

"Thank you." I said anyway. Isabella shut her door and tossed me some pj's to change into.

"So, what do you want to do?" She asked me while I changed into the pj's.

"I was hoping to just go to sleep." I said.

"What? This early, it's like eight forty five." She said.

"Ya, but it's been along day, I was hoping to just sleep."

"You couldn't have done that at your house?"

"No, my mom would have kept me up with her crying and that would have made me cry, and you know." I said.

"Ya, ok. Go to sleep, see you in the morning." I smiled and lied in her bed so I could sleep. She lied down in her bed and went to sleep as well.
