Drarry oneshots

A series of Drarry oneshots. Don't like, don't read.
Warning: there could be some minor (or not so minor) swearing and other such things. Also some AU. Um...I think that's it for the warning...

9. Auror Assignment

Harry's POV

I ran after Malfoy, his white blond hair gleaming slightly in the moon light. I was on an Auror assignment with Ron and Neville, who had both joined the Auror program after the war, tracking down the remaining Death Eathers. The only ones we hadn't captured yet were Dolohov, the Lestrange brothers and Malfoy junior, whom I was chasing after right now.

We zigzagged between the trees, him shooting Dark Hexes in random directions, making trees burst into flames or die and topple over. I sprinted behind him, dodging all the obstacles, not stopping for anything. Neville and Ron were behind me, they would be able to fix any damage done by the spells. All I had to do was worry about catching up to the ex-Slytherin.

Malfoy finally stopped when we reached the end of the forest. There was a huge cliff, if he jumped the drop would most certainly kill him, was blocking the way and the three of us, Ron, Neville and I, had cast anti-apparition wards to prevent Malfoy from escaping.

I smirked as I watched Malfoy whirl around to face me. I lunged at him, sending us both tumbling to the ground. We wrestled, each trying to gain the upper hand. I was stronger now that I had been before the war, but so was he.

After a few minutes, I managed to get on top him, straddling him and pinning him down.

"Let's get you to Azkaban where you belong." I said, panting slightly from the previous fight.

"I know you don't want to do that Potter." Malfoy drawled.

I got up, hauling Malfoy up to by the collar of his robes.

"Really now?'' I asked, mildly amused by the distraction he was trying to create.

"You and I have always had something...special." he continued, a smirk tugging at his lips. "Don't you think so Potter?"

I looked at him strangely, wondering what he was going on about.

"And that means..."

Instead of answering me, he pressing his lips against mine in a...kiss?

Surprised, my grip on his shirt slackened. When I had finally recovered my senses, the last thing I saw of him was a blur of black at the ledge of the cliff and then...he fell.

Without thinking, I ran towards the edge and did the same thing, ignoring Ron's shout of "NO!".

Frantically casting Levitation charms on myself and Malfoy, I felt my fall slow but not stop completely. And then there was darkness.

"Harry? Harry, can you hear me? Harry!" a voice shouted in my ear. Ron.

"Yes?" I managed to croak out, slowly opening my eyes.

"Thank god you're alive! Why did you jump after him?" Neville asked me.

"I needed to make sure that he couldn't get away." I said with a sigh.

I tuned out Ron and Neville's conversation as the took down the wards and aparated me to Saint-Mungos. I was only beginning to feel the pain of my fall. I had probably broken spine or something considering the height I was at when I jumped.

''There was no body." Neville suddenly declared after a moment of silence. "Malfoy, he didn't die, I think. There was no body."

I wondered how Malfoy had escaped. I tried to be angry, but all I could think of was the feeling of his lips on mine, his body pressed flush against my own. I closed my eyes and sighed. But he was a Death Eater, and I shouldn't be thinking these things about one of them. It was stupid, it was ridiculous, and yet I couldn't stop.

When I fell asleep, my dreams were plagued by silver blond hair and that kiss with Malfoy. All because of a single Auror assignment.

A/N: Okay, so this one wasn't really Drarry (only kinda) but I liked it. Hope you enjoyed reading it as much as I did writing it!! :)
