Too Late? - A Michael Clifford Fanfiction

Alison and Michael were best friends since pre-school. When he started the band, they started dating. But the other boys hated the idea of her being around all the time although they were happy for their band mate. On the night of Michael's seventeenth birthday, Alison was only sixteen, she gave the one thing to him she would never be able to get back and give to another human being again... Her virginity. And what did he give her? Heartbreak and a child.

After that night, the pair broke up. Michael needed to concentrate on his band. But what he never realized was the secret Alison was hiding from him. The fact that he had a son.

Was Michael right to break up with her and is he too late to show her he's here to stay for good this time?

10. Protective Father

Alison's POV

Michael had a firm grasp on Braxton who now had his hand around Michael's neck for support. Michael smiled at our son in his arms but quickly turned his head to me.

"I never said he was my son, Michael! I'm just acting as a father figure so he has someone to look up to and protect him. It's not my fault he has a lousy father now, is it?" Harry started teasing Michael to get a reaction out of him. I slapped Harry over the back of his head to shut him up.

"Harry just shut it." I warned him. He gave me a cocky smirk and shrugged.

"It's true though, babe. He is a lousy father! He never came looking for you or Braxy once you left Australia." Harry spoke triumphantly. I didn't comment back as everyone knew he was right. And by the look on Michael's face, he knew it was true too.

"Braxy?" Michael looked confused at the name.

"Yeah, its my nickname for him." Harry coldly said. I sighed and ran my hands through my straightened hair.

"Michael, we need to talk." I said looking at him. He nodded as I walked off to a corner out of earshot of everyone else. "Did you really need to take him from Harry like that?"

"Yes!" Michael said a bit too loudly. I stuck my arms out for Braxton who looked at me and Michael and back again but shook his head and held even tighter onto Michael's neck. Michael rubbed his back soothingly before looking back at me.

"I've missed nearly a year of his life, Ally. I want to be here for him. I want to be here for you. I want to be a proper family, love. I've missed you so much."

I scoffed at him. "You have no proof so I don't believe any of that." I rolled my eyes at him.

"I've got proof." He said, reaching into his pocket and unlocking his phone, showing me the screen to see a photo of me and Michael as his screen saver.

"That doesn't prove anything."

"What about this then?" He said pulling his emails up. One after another, after another, after another of emails to me filled his screen. They dated back to the day I left Australia. Over 15,000 of them to be exact. I scrolled through the emails as tears filled my eyes. Michael was telling me the truth. He and Kate never did sleep together, they just done it so I'd talk to him. I saw the hundreds of 'I love you, Alison' messages fill the screen as tears brimmed my eyes. I chocked back the tears to stop them falling and looked back to Braxton.

"I'm sorry, sweetie." I whispered rubbing my thumb over Braxton's hand soothingly. I broke my own promise to myself. I promised I wouldn't fall in love with Michael. But seeing his protective father side has shown me that maybe he really does want to be a real dad. That maybe he does want to be a family. That maybe he does want to be with me.
