Stole My Heart

The pain I felt that day I ran away still pondered my mind. Did I make the right decision? Did I have to leave to make sure Niall was mine? He promised never to let her take him. So why didn't I believe him?
The pain I felt lying on the park bench. In the cold. Feeling unwanted, unloved and lonely. Why didn't I go home?
So many questions were needing to be answered, but I couldn't answer them. They were questions to stay unanswered. For I didn't have an answer. I was so confused of all the past events. Meeting Niall had led me to a life of pain and misery. And look where we are now. In a room full of pain and misery!

36. "Is everything ok?"

"Maybe you should go home" Harry paused "You know see your family"

Louis had left earlier that day and after about an hour of alone time with Niall, Harry arrived. He bought me a sandwich and a bottle of water as he obviously guessed I wasn't coming home anytime soon.

I stared out of the window. The sun shone brightly into the room lighting up Niall's blank expression on his face. I watched as the light wind brushed up against the trees. They swirled round gently shaking there branches happily. School children rushed out of the local middle school smiles printed on all there faces. A girl a bit older then me waited at the school gate. She smiled as she took the hand of a school boy about 10 years old. They walked down the pathway and waited at the edge of the road for the traffic. The girl flicked her black pony tail allowing me to see her full face. Her green eyes and bright red lips popped open something in my memory. It was Amy. I hurriedly stepped away from the large window and pressed my back up against the white painted wall.

"Is everything ok?" Harry stood up from the chair and walked around the bottom of Niall's bed. "You look like you've just seen a ghost" He laughed picking up the jug of water from the side and pouring some into a cup. He returned to his seat and took a mouthful before placing it on the cold tiled floor. "So?" He looked over to me I tucked my fringe behind my ear and stood up straighter trying to calm myself down. "So what?" I tried to forget that Amy was outside and walked over to Niall. "Will you go back home and see you family?" He asked again. I only ignored his question and focused on Niall. I rubbed his pale cheeks with the back of my hand and ruffled his hair. I moved down the bed and picked up his hand. It was heavier then usual as he had no control over it. I pushed each finger in between his and squeezed his hand gently. Harry cleared his throat getting my attention. "Why should I?" i snapped out of my gaze and took my sandwich and drink off the side. I walked over to where Harry was sitting and plonked myself on the floor beside him. I sat cross legged and took a bite out of my sandwich. "Because there properly worried about you" He looked down at me, but I avoided eye contact. I took another bite from my ham and cheese roll before answering. "So?" I replied with a mouthful of food. He sighed and stood up. He opened the door leading to the hospital corridor. He stood in the doorway with his arms crossed. "Come on" He gestured for me to get up. I sighed and placed my roll on top of the packaging on the floor and stood up. I slowly made my way over to him. He took my hand and gently pulled me out of the room. "But we can't leave Niall alone" I protested letting go of his hand. He looked threw the glass window in the door at Niall. He still lay lifeless, cold, unaware of what was going on around him. "I'll tell the nurses to keep an eye on him, ok?" He smiled and bent down to my level as he was taller then me. He placed his hands on my shoulders and looked me in my eye. "Ok" I gave in and the smile grew on his face. He took my hand again and led me out of the hospital. Threw the never ending corridors and countless waiting rooms. We finally arrived at the exit. The warm wind hitting my cheeks made me realise how long I had been inside for. "Where we going?" I finally asked as we walked across the corridor. Nobody was around, but it still worried me if a fan saw. "You'll see" He opened his car door and I got in. He got in the other side and started up the engine. We drove out of the car park and down the road past the local middle school. Luckily Amy had gone. I had been in that hospital room for ages and hadn't dared to fall asleep incase something happened to Niall. I starred out of the window at the birds flying by and the families eating their pic-nics at the park. I really liked this neighbourhood, everyone was so friendly and it was always nice and sunny. I closed my eyes gently at the sound of the radio and slowly drifted off to sleep my head resting on the window.
