5. Chapter 3

Rosaline's POV

The lady (who I had later found was named Linda) looked at me for a while before taking a deep breath.

"Well I think I've heard enough," she got up from her seated position on the uncomfortable looking metal chair and made her way to the door, "I suggest you get some rest before Nathan comes by with the medicine, you'll need it. We'll get through this Rosaline, I promise." She gave me a curt nod and a tight smile and left the room.

I fell back on the stiff mattress with a huff. I was annoyed and frustrated. Annoyed that nobody believes me (then again if I were them I wouldn't believe me either.) Annoyed that my parents put me in this place and frustrated that I couldn't control my newfound gift.

My life seemed to go downhill and then crash all at once about a month ago. I will never forget the time when I heard that soft and airy whisper in my ear for the first time. The words that I will never understand.

His games have begun.

I don't know what it means but I intend to find out. I was pulled out of my thoughts when I heard a steady knock at my door. I stood up from my bed when I saw a young man around my age walking backwards into my room while wheeling a cart in front of him.

"Are you Nathan?" I asked while his back was still facing me.

"I am. And you must be the sweet Rosaline." Something behind his voice sounded malicious and as soon as he turned around, I knew exactly why. I gasped loudly and a scream was followed afterwards. His face was mangled and distorted of all sorts with beety red eyes and shards for teeth. I blamed my gift for being able to detect this.

"Y-your face." I started to back away from him once I realized he was advancing towards me.

"Shh, shh. It's ok. I'm not going to hurt you." I didn't believe him for a second and started to tremble with fear.

"W-what do you want from me?"

"Oh, it's not what I want. It's what my boss wants and I bet you can guess who he is. So I suggest you come with me now and don't put up a fight. It'll be easier for both of us." He extended his hand out like I was going to grab it. To anyone elses eye it would look normal, but to mine it was black with sharp talons.

"You're a demon aren't you?"

"Well look at you smarts! I don't have time to play 20 questions so I advise you to come with me, now." His voice was stern and bitter.

"NO!" I yelled and jumped onto the other side of my bed to get further away from him. Now standing on either side of the bed, red eyes glaring into mine, I had no idea what to do next.

He smiled wickedly, showing off his teeth. "Wrong answer sweetheart."

My mind started to race as he was coming closer to me. All of a sudden, my vision became hazy and I felt lightheaded. Before I could blink, the bed had lifted off of the ground and flew into the opposite wall of me, smashing the demon with it.

I just stood still. Standing in shock at what had just happened in the matter of seconds. I didn't waste a second longer though for escaping was the only thing on my mind. I tip toed around the mess and made my way out the door and down the hall.

Making my way towards freedom.

Later that day

Harry's POV

The alcohol burned its way down my throat and I slammed the shot glass down on the counter before yelling at the bartender to hand me another one. He gave me a questioning look with raised eyebrows.

"Are you sure you need another one? You've basically drank me out!"

"Shut your fucking mouth and hand me another shot will you?" I started to grow annoyed and impatient at his questioning. He shouldn't question, he should just do.

Mumbling curse words under his breath, he filled another one ad slid it down to me. I caught it and tipped my head back to reach full intoxication. I looked around at the typical bar scene with your bikers in the front and sluts in the back doing dirty work. I looked above me and noticed a tv showing the local news. Pictures of the city and missing people were flashing on the screen until one in particular captured my attention. Her hair was a reddish brown color and she had big almost too innocent looking green eyes. For some odd reason, I felt drawn to her and I was suddenly interested.

I kept my attention focused on the screen above me until I heard what I needed. Apparently this girl escaped from the local mental hospital. Her name was Rosaline.

Rosaline.

I finally found what I was looking for.
