22. Torture and Interrogation

Lilli's POV

I couldn't stand it anymore. I was barely surviving on the food they gave me, my head hurt too much to sleep for more than a few minutes, and I couldn't escape. I let a small tear roll down my cheek.

A few minutes later, an entire door slid away, revealing a pristine white hallway. Two guards held their guns out, pointed at me, as two other grabbed my arms and hauled me to my feet. My head pounded and I resisted the urge to cry out, or even worse, cry.

"Where are we going?" I asked one, but he didn't even look at me. I had to follow their orders, or they would shoot me, so I stared straight ahead and kept walking. We turned through many hallways, and eventually entered a room with nothing but a chair in it. I was shoved into it, and then my arms and legs were strapped in. I closed my eyes, hoping to get a moment away from the pain in my skull, and when I opened them, Alderon was standing before me.

"Lilli Skywalker. Pleasure to meet you."

"I'd like to say likewise, but unfortunately you just had me chained to a chair, so..." I glared at him.

"Don't talk back to me, or I will have you introduced to a whole new world of pain. Now, I will ask you a few questions, and if don't answer me honestly, I will press this button," He showed me a little remote in his hand, "And believe me, you don't want me to press this button." I looked at the ground. I was scared of what he would do to me, and I didn't want him to know, so I stared at the floor as a look of fear crossed my eyes. I saw him smirk a bit, which meant he probably knew I was afraid.

"How many people are currently training to be Jedi under your brother's instruction?"

"About 7." I lied. It would be better for them to underestimate us.

"Lie." He smirked, and pressed the button. Suddenly, all I could feel was pain. Everywhere, especially my head. I screamed, and writhed in my seat.

"What are you brother's plans once you are all properly trained?"

"I don't know." I honestly didn't.

"Interesting. Where did Ciara grow up?"

"Tatooine." Lie. Another terrible shock of pain, and reluctant tears started to pour down my face.

"And Andromeda?" He asked.

"I don't know." More than half of the stuff he asked me I really didn't know.

This went on for what seemed like hours of questions, lies, and pain.

Suddenly an alarm went off and the Count ran out of the room. The alarm continued to blare until someone burst into the room.

"Lilli." Ryder ran to my chair, a concerned look on his face. He managed to help me out of the chair and to my feet, but I stumbled and nearly fell over, "They did it to you to?" He asked.

"Did what?" I breathed, trying to stand up straight.

"They interrogated and tortured you in the chair. They did it to me too, as well as Auron. Only Nix and Andy didn't get this kind of treatment. But we need to go. Now." He put his arm around my waist and we left the room together. Outside, a guard was sprawled on the ground. I reached down and grabbed a blaster, stuffing it in my belt. Ryder already had two in his belt.

"Where is everyone?" I asked, as I began to walk a bit faster.

"Andy let us all out, and she and Auron are already on their way out, and Nix said he'd be close behind. I went to find you so we can escape too."

"Thanks." He came back for me. I felt warm inside and his grip on my waist was distracting, so I tried to start up a conversation, even though I was breathless.

"Why didn't Nix and Andy get tortured?" I asked.

"I didn't say that." Ryder corrected.

"What do you mean?" I asked.

"I said that Nix and Andy didn't get our kind of treatment. You're right, no harm came to Andy. Not sure why, maybe he didn't get around to her. But Nix, he got way worse." I cringed. The torture Ryder, Auron and I got was bad enough. I couldn't imagine how bad Nix was.

"Why did he hurt Nix? Isn't Alderon supposed to be his uncle?" I asked. I was puzzled on why he would hurt his own nephew.

"When Nix wouldn't side with the Count, he got extremely angry. I guess that provoked him to perform more extreme torture. Anyways, the exit is just around the corner. Auron and I already checked for guards and managed to open the door. Andy took care of the main entrance." Ryder pulled me faster and stepped over a few guards. We passed through the door into another hallway and then saw a bunch more bodies lying on the ground. He pushed me through another door, this one much bigger, and shoved me out the open door into the sunlight. I fell onto the grass, feeling the weakness in my body again. I pushed myself up, as Ryder jumped out of the door as well. Ryder had recovered okay, so he must have gotten the torture first. Auron was limping a bit,  but he was in better shape than me. He was probably after Ryder but before me.

"Lilli!" Andy rushed over, and grabbed hold of my arm.

"Hey." I winced again, squeezing my eyes shut.

"I got all our stuff back, here." Auron handed me my phone-thing, and I switched it on. A red light indicated someone had tried to contact me. Nervously, I called Luke.

"Lilli! Where the hell are you?" Luke shouted as soon as he picked up. I could feel the anger and a hint of worry in his voice.

Nix was dragging himself out of the ship, in far worse shape than me. He was covered head to toe with cuts and bruises and both of his eyes were black and blue and his lip was cut and swollen. He looked half dead. Andy rushed to help him and he weakly took the phone out of my hand, "We snuck onto a ship...belonging to the Confederacy. I think they...were the ones who...burned Lilli in training. We're on our way... but meet us close by. We...don't have much energy." Nix hung up, and handed me back the phone.

"What did you have to take care of?" I asked him.

"Doesn't matter. Let's go." Auron and Andy helped Nix up, even though Auron had slight limp. Ryder assisted me, and we all went off in search of Luke.
