3. Battle Casualties

In a few hours me and Neville got up and went to the castle unaware that many people had fallen. When we got there Neville went first to check it out. He came back with a stressed look on his face.

"It's pretty bad so don't freak out." He told me. I grabbed his hand and he smirked at me. I thought I did something creepy. But he squeezed my hand back.

We walked into the Great Hall in horror when we saw the dead students lying motionless on the ground. I sighed and buried my head into Neville's chest. It was too much to bear. He hugged me telling me it's fine, but I knew it's not. That's when I saw her. My best friend Gianna Gorman lying on the ground dead. I ran over saying no, no, no, no, NO!!!

This can't be happening, I thought. She's dead. She was my best friend in Hufflepuff. And now she was gone. I screamed out out and cried, my head on Gianna's chest.

"We better go." Neville said. I got up and followed home wherever we were going.

"Where are we going?" I asked.

"Somewhere. I don't know where." He replied. That's when I heard an evil laugh. Not deep like Voldemort's but not squeaky like Bellatrix. It sounded like a Slytherein, and that could only mean one thing.

Draco Malfoy was behind us.
