5SOS: How to Change a Bad Boy

Make a girl fall in love with you in thirty days (or less). Breaking innocent and naive girls' hearts for their own entertainment. That was the game that they played, and Luke Hemmings was the very best. When he's given a victim, he thinks it's no big deal and does it for the quick and easy cash, but he had no idea what he was getting himself into when he said he wanted a more difficult target.

"Autumn, I don't understand why you've been in such a God damn bitchy mood lately," I groaned, plopping down on the couch.
She averted her eyes, glancing toward the floor. I was frustrated with our nonstop arguing over the past week. We never fought, I didn't understand what caused all of the tension in this apartment. There were still completely full boxes all around our new place from the move, but for the most part everything was unpacked. So, obviously, the stress of moving wasn't what was causing her to freak out.

"Come on, babe. Talk to me."  No answer.

I pleaded for her to at least tell me if it was something I did, but instead she exploded and told me the whole story.

"You're serious?" My eyes widened in shock as I tried to process the information.

"Yeah, you can come with me to my doctor's appointment if you don't believe me," Autumn sighed, tears welling up in her eyes.

"Are you fucking serious? If this is a joke, I'm not laughing."

"Luke, yes, it's true. I--"
---------------------------Two Days Earlier--------------------------

"Babe, you want to grab some lunch or something?" I asked, plopping on the couch next to Autumn. She started to cry and insisted that she wasn't hungry, nor in the mood to go out. I knit my eye brows in frustration; It was the third time in the past two days that she rejected an offer to go out.

"I'm fine, Luke, really," she insisted as I questioned if she was alright. "I'm just a little tired." I didn't believe her and stormed out of our bedroom, deciding to take a nap on the couch.

I woke up to the sound of her coughing and ran into the bathroom, only to see her vomitting. I tied her hair back with an elastic, rubbing her back, "Baby, are you alright?"

"I'm fine I just think I have food poisoning."

I rolled my eyes before lashing out at her. "Autumn, when are you going to stop fucking lying to me? You haven't eaten today so you obviously don't have food poisoning."

"Luke, I'm fine!" She yelled, huffing and rolling her eyes at me. "I would tell you if something was wrong!"

I was too irritated by her bitchy mood to say anything else, shoving my hands in the pockets of my sweatpants and sulking out of the room. If she wasn't going to tell me what was wrong, I was going to refuse to talk to her.

I woke up the very next morning on the couch, pieces of my hair sticking up everywhere, and my shirt thrown across the other side of the living room. I stood up, rubbing the back of my neck (because being over 6 feet tall makes it extremely difficult to sleep on couches), and jiggling on our bedroom door handle. The door was locked, frustrating me, and forcing me to pick the lock.

I groaned. "Wow, never thought I'd have to pick the lock on my own bedroom door," I muttered under my breath, silently celebrating when I finally got the door open.

Autumn was still in bed, whimpering in pain. "Aut, what's wrong?"

"My stomach hurts. It's really sharp pain," she rolled onto her stomach in hopes that the pain would fade.

I left the room to let her sleep for a bit and panicked. I was going crazy; I loved her more than anything else and I had no idea what was wrong or how to help her. I quickly snatched my car keys and slammed the apartment door behind me, heading out to the pharmacy.

Half an hour later, I returned home with some anti-nausea medicine, as well as some pain killers. I spotted her sitting on the couch, watching some romantic comedy on TV, and walked toward her.

"Autumn, I don't understand why you've been in such a God damn bitchy mood lately," I groaned, plopping down on the couch.

She averted her eyes, glancing toward the floor. I was frustrated with our nonstop arguing over the past week. We never fought; I didn't understand what caused all of the tension in the apartment. "Are you fucking serious? If this is a joke, I'm not laughing."

"Luke, yes, it's true. I had a miscarriage."

The sadness in her eyes was almost as unbearing as the sadness of the miscarriage itself. "You're sure?" I asked again, hoping she was unsure or that it could be a mistake.

"Lucas, I'm sure. I've been bleeding, nauseous, and in horrible pain." Her eyes finally met mine and I wrapped my arms around her.

"Everything is going to be okay," I whispered and she began crying. "I love you."

We sat in silence for the rest of the day, watching movies and cuddling. And when the sun fell again, so did I.

For her.
