7. Chapter seven
"Goddamn it, answer me Scar!"
Scarlet froze at the idiot boys last words. Her head snapped up and I swear her eyes flashed red like mine do. Before I could stop her, and with speed to rival a vampire she launched herself at the boy.
He was taken off guard and he fell to the floor as she rammed into his stomach. He yelled out as she sat atop him and clawed at his face. She slapped him.
"DON'T" slap "CALL" slap "ME" slap "SCAR!"
She raised her hand for another onslaught but I caught her hand before she could hit him again. The boy's cheek was bleeding from her initial scratch. I hadn't fed in a couple of days and the sight of the red liquid oozing down his cheek meant I was dangerously close to losing control.
I pulled Scarlet off the boy and she sat on her bed visibly shaking with rage. I had never seen anything like it, especially from such a small human girl. I turned to the boy who was just regaining his composure. I crouched down in front of him and made sure he was looking me in the eye.
"You need to leave now. You will forget that Scarlet attacked you. Don't come back any time soon."
He nodded as the blood dropped from his cheek onto his shirt. If I could see my reflection I knew my eyes would be burning red.
I pulled open the door with a little too much force, causing it to crack the plaster on the wall behind, and shoved the boy out into the corridor. I watched him walk away before shutting the door and took a second to make sure my eyes had returned to normal before facing Scarlet.
"Wow girl, I don't know what that was about but I'm seriously impressed!" I smiled at her but as she met my eyes she burst into tears.
