I drifted out of consciousness to realize that voice was both in my memory and right now. Zack was right. We did everything together. How could I forget such big of a friendship like that? No wonder he seemed overprotective. He just wanted to keep me safe. That's why he agreed to not carry me.
"And why should I let her go?" Uh oh, I'm in the arms of the Cerda Pack alpha and he is currently on a one to one battle with my father and Charlie. This is not good! Should I pretend to be asleep or should I show that I'm awake? I really don't know!
"She doesn't belong to you." My dad snarled as I could head footsteps get louder. "You've already ruined your own family, so why try to make things worse?"
"And what makes you say that?" Austen's dad chuckled in a voice that sounded like he was teasing or trying to confuse people.
"Your only successful child told me full well what happened!" My father roared, I really hope I never get him into any moods similar to this. He sounds scary. Very scary. "You forced Austen to have sex with MY daughter knowing full well she is young and not capable to withhold children due to her state of mind! Not only that but you make him a lone wolf after he refuses the third time and now you want him back because you want him to look after the cub when Kaitlyn gives birth! Even I know for a fact the cub will not survive away from the mother and I only looked after Kaitlyn for a few months! And even that was because you're the reason my Evelyn got hurt!"
"It is NOT my fault Evelyn got hurt!" I noticed the tension in the air was brimming fast. The grips on my arms tightened as I listened intently about my mother. "She brought it upon herself!"
"She did not bring it upon herself!" Charlie spoke harsh and fast as I noticed something was missing. What truly happened to my mum. Is she dead or alive? Is she trapped like I was or is she wandering around alone? I have to ask these when I get a chance. "You're the one who pressures your pack members into mating before love! You're the one who should be listening to your pack instead of ordering them into mating with people they don't want!"
"Who says I don't listen to my pack?!" Ouch! That pain isn't coming from my arms, or my legs. It's coming from my stomach. I hope it's just hunger. "You have no right coming here and telling an alpha how to run his pack when you have nothing to do with wolves!"
"My niece is a wolf and I have a right to know she is safe in both the wolf AND human world!" I heard Charlie's temper rise to a level of frustration I've never recalled before. There's that pain again and why does it hurt so much?! "You're not the one getting phone calls from the heads of education asking where she is! You're not the one having to explain what is going on without giving your identity away! You're not the one-!"
"AAAAAAAAHHH!" I can't hold the pain any longer! It hurts too much to ignore! Why does this hurt so much?! "CHRIST ALIVE! WHAT'S HAPPENING TO ME?!"
"You should also know that pregnancies with any wolf's or werewolf's child can go wrong at any moment!" My father boomed with such a fierce voice, I was fearing what he was going to say next. "Kaitlyn is lucky to last a month over the halfway date! Especially when she should be resting and healing with her condition! You've just made things worse by letting a 15 year old girl get pregnant in modern society, knowing full well the consequences she will face when she goes back to what her life should have been like! This was way too early! It's bad enough Evelyn almost gave birth to stillborn child! Now where is she?! You tell me!"
"ARGH!" I writhe in pain, grimacing at myself for interrupting my father.
"Calden, I think it's time." Charlie turned in the other direction before shouting over his shoulder. "I'm going to go find someone who can help! Kaitlyn is in labour and there's no telling how long this will take!"
