I don't know who I am. I don't know where I am. I don't know what happened to me. The only thing I do know is the fact that I woke up in a small room to the sound of someone trying to break the door down. This is the story about how I learn the true reasons of becoming lost in my own world. I learned to love. I hoped for safety. I lost my way. I trusted nobody.

4. Hiding

"Kaitlyn Sierra?" I murmur, trying my best to stay warm. Now I regret leaving the house in only shorts and a tank top. I really should have thought about putting on extra clothes before running out into the freezing cold night. Rubbing my hands on my bruised arms, I look around for some shelter. I feel exhausted, let alone feeling like the weakest person in the world. I probably am right now.

Looking around, I notice a small opening near the roots of one of the trees. Noticing it was large enough for me to crawl inside, I decide to do so. Luckily, the space inside was a lot larger than I thought. There was enough space for several other people to fit inside, not that I wanted anyone else to be here with me at the moment.

The sound of a howl made my eyes glance up at the full moon. I was leaning against the opposite side of the tree trunk. My view got blocked as a pair of paws came to a stop just in front of the opening. I held my breath as I waited for the wolf to pass. What I didn't realize was the wolf would be staying there for quite some time.

His, or her, eyes were a shade of grey that was so dark, it was almost black. The fur of the wolf seemed to have several different textures throughout the body. Most of the fur looked soft and smooth, but there were the odd patches where the fur has a splash of red stained into the dried fur that looked like it had been bitten into. These patches were very noticeable around the neck and on one of the back paws. If there was any more, I couldn't see them.

"What you doing standing there?" Another wolf approached. I pulled myself back against the tree trunk, trying my best to stay as quiet as possible. The other wolf had similar markings, but seemed a lot older.

"I can smell her." The first one sniffed the air once again. "Kaitlyn is here. She must have escaped after we left."

"That's impossible." The older one growled in disagreement. "We locked her in there! There's no way she could have escaped unless..."

"Unless what?" The younger one backed away slowly as he faded off.

"Someone helped her." The elder wolf turned around before scuttling off further into the woods. Judging by how fast the wolf went off, this Kaitlyn Sierra is very important. Wait a second, if the name came into my mind and that wolf could smell her AND I'm the only person around for miles, then that means. I'm Kaitlyn Sierra.

Well at least now I know my name. Now I wish that the wolf who first got here would just hurry up and leave. Not that I had anywhere to go, of course. I try my best to hide the quick intake of breathe that I made. My leg felt like it was on fire as the floor heated up all around me. What the?! How on earth is this possible?!

"I know you're there." The sound of Austen's voice came from a golden brown and jet black wolf who approached the one who first arrived, he also had black eyes in wolf form. Austen was a lot larger than the wolf he was facing. Now I was freaked out. "Leave her alone."

"Where is she?" The wolf growled back. "We need to know where she is."

"No, you don't." Trying my best to stay still was very difficult. Snarls were coming back and forth between the two wolves. My eyes widen when the black one's teeth went straight into Austen's golden brown fur. Covering my ears to hide out the yelping, I notice that it wasn't just Austen who was hurt. The black one slid down slowly, laying on the floor as he whined in pain. An arrow had been fired right into the wolf's back. Austen looked up towards someone else who was standing there watching. "Thanks man."

"No problem." The other boy lowered his bow and arrow and watched Austen warily. Other than the fact he had a broad, muscular body, his features were completely different. Mysteriously dark brown eyes were accompanied by dusty blonde hair that reached to just below the top of his ears. "Where is she, Austen?"

"I don't know." The wolf snuffed, making sure the one which laid on the floor was no longer breathing in pain. Blondie knelt down, placing his hand on the wolf's chest. After several moments of silence, he nodded briefly before cradling the wolf in his arms as he got up. "Take him to base, I need to find Kaitlyn before the full moon ceremony starts. There's some things that she's too weak to battle alone. Especially on a full moon."
