“OH MY GOD! BREN!” I shouted and hugged her with all in me.
“Wow! You’ve been missing me, haven’t you?” She joked.
“I think I’ll leave you alone.” Nick smirked and got in his room.
“Damn, girl. Why didn’t you tell me you had already arrived?” She asked me breaking the hug.
“I’m sorry but my plain landed a few hours ago and well… You know.” I said pointing to Nick’s room with my eyes.
“I get it… Oh my. Did I interrupt something?” She whispered.
“Kind of. I was going to stop it, anyway.”
“What? Why?” She asked me with a wide-open look.
“You know why. I made a promise.” I said showing her my left hand.
“But don’t you love him? Haven’t you ever thought about it?”
“I do love him… Of course, I have thought about it but I can’t.” I looked at her right into the eyes trying to convince her I was being serious.
“Okay… That’s up to you anyway. BUT, let me tell you that guys are not as patient as they say they are.”
“I know, but Nick also knows about my promise.”
“Stills a man though. Whatever… Have you meet Nathalie’s fiancé?” Maybe Brenda was right, guys don’t like to wait for… it. But I tried not to think about my boyfriend sexual problems so I could enjoy my time with my friend.
“Just once, via webcam. But he’s Nick’s friend and he told he was a good guy and really talented.” I lied. Of course I knew Nathalie’s fiancé and I met him once, it’s just that somehow my friend asked me too keep it as a secret or Bren would freaked out for not telling her in the first place, even though she wasn’t so much into our lives because you know: Adam’s stuff.
“Can’t imagine how would it be getting marry with a guy not even my best friends know…” Brenda said. “Where did they meet?”
“I think Nathalie got a work of fellow back at England in some theater where he was going to present on… And I’m sure she doesn’t need to know our opinion, she’s smart enough to know what kind of guy it’s better for her.”
“I think you’re right.”
I got some time to catch up with my friend. Of course we got so little time that night, but I procured to see my friends every single day while I was in NY. Some days we just had lunch and some others we spent the whole time on the wedding shops, bakeries and flower stores. I got to see Nick half time too. I liked to go with him to the studio. It was one of my favorite things, seeing him having so much fun with his job and meeting new people was awesome for me too. He was producing a new record for Megan & Liz, those kind and cute girls that went out from YouTube. My boyfriend’s friends and workmates were incredibly hilarious.
I liked being at the city and I liked it even more because of the people I’d missed the most was there with me. With some luck I’d be able to come back later and never left again…
“Do you wanna walk home or take a cab?” Nick asked me from the recording room.
“Walking will be fine.”
We turned everything off and left.
“You think, there’s gonna be press and all that stuff?” I asked him when we were out of the building.
“There sure will be, but I dare to say Darren will know how to handle it.”
“I really wish them the best.” I smiled at myself by the thought of them being so happy together.
“I do too. They’re so lucky because some people are meant to fall in love with each other, but not meant to be together and they’re meant to be together for the rest of their lives. Just likes us.” He said taking my hand up and kissed it on the back.
I was sure I blushed. Our love wasn’t getting old even after two years on a row.
“So… You know what are you going to wear that night, right?”
“Yep. Darren told me what to…”
We continued walking down the avenue and discussing his outfit for the party and some other funny stuff.
