42. The Beggining Of The End
I watched as the little house I once called home turned into a speck on the canvas of the world. I think life really does suck and then I burst out laughing. Why? Because things could get so much worse than they are now and well, I'd still be alive. The taxi driver is a middle aged man with a grey beard that goes all they down to his belly which is round and fat.
"Do you think true love exist?" I ask.
He laughs an old smokers laugh and answers,"Darling, true love may never exist but love does and at the end of the day love is all we need."
Fair enough. He pulls up to LAX and stops the car, "Thanks." I hand him a twenty dollar bill, ten for the ride and 10 for the advice. I'm half-way out the door when he stops me.
"Love comes from the heart not the head, remember."
I nod, "Thank you."
The flight was bumpy and comfortable all at once, kind of like life. "Passengers welcome to Ontario, Canada." The pilot says. Welcome back Lily. I wheel a zillion pounds of luggage through the airport and into the front where a guy holds up an index card labled, 'Lillian'. Then that guy looks up and I notice his beautiful green eyes. I love this guy! He flips the index card over and, oh, he loves me too. I wrap my arms around him and kiss him like I've never really kissed anyone before. "You thought you could get away from me that easy?" He asks.
I shake my head, "I hope not."
And queue the cheesy romance music.
