I sat up against a locker as I tried to clear my head. Harry and Liam had every right to hold me back, I was acting out on my anger towards Dan; someone who only wants to look out for me. I could barely breathe after all that yelling and fighting; neither my sleep nor my nutrition was kept well enough for me to be working this hard anymore.
"You're just letting your anger issues take over, Toni." I told myself, taking a deep breath and running my hands through my hair.
"Where is she?!" I heard a girl yell from inside the gym. I sighed and stood up, but didn't walk out; I just listened at first.
"Oh Toni! Come out, come out; wherever you are." A girl called, sounding very angry and annoyed. Who the fuck did this girl think she was, coming into my gym acting like a boss, or whatever. I ignored my body screaming at me to rest, or eat, as I walked towards the door. As I stormed out of the locker room, my anger was beginning to boil over. I hated people who tried to act tough or show off, especially people I didn't know.
"Who the fuck is aski-
I stopped in my tracks when I saw a very familiar black haired girl with brown eyes, standing at the door. She had been my fighting partner when I first started. After a while we started bickering and grew apart, becoming each other's enemies along the way. She had always tried to fight me and build her reputation, but she always lost; which only put her lower on the totem pole.
"Maggie?" I furrowed my eyebrows.
"Yeah, Maggie. The girl who's fight you bailed out on, among many others might I add. Who do you think you are? We all had money riding on those fights!"
"Wait, hold on. What are you talking about?" I demanded.
"Your bitch of a secretary called me and the others. Telling us that you are on leave, or whatever. How the hell could you cancel all the fights?!" Maggie exploded.
"Woah, woah, woah. First of all, I didn't want to; Dan is making me because all my fights are putting a spotlight on the rest of the underground. If I continue we could all get booked. Second of all, who the fuck do you think you are coming into my gym like this?"
"That's not a decision that you get to make!" She yelled, ignoring my last statement.
"I didn't make it! I actually plan on fighting tomorrow!" I burst.
"But what about the others, huh? Or me?! We all practically went bankrupt due to your fucking trainer's dumbass decision!" Man this bitch is getting on my nerves.
"That's not my problem! My problem is finding a way to start fighting legally in order to support my own life." Maggie suddenly brought her hand back, about to slap me. I took her dainty little wrist in my hand and squeezed until I heard a pop. She gasped in pain and fell to her knees, though I had a grip on her wrist still that made her arm stay up.
"Were you just about to hit me?" I whispered, my anger lacing every word with venom.
"Don't lie," I spat, twisting her wrist causing her to cry out," and maybe I'll spare the rest of your limbs."
I knelt in front of her and grabbed her face with my free hand, making her look at me.
"Now," I shifted my weight and pretended to act like a parent scolding a child," what do you have to say for yourself?"
"I-I'm s-sorry." She stuttered, brown eyes glazing over with tears.
"I'm sorry," I twister her wrist the other way and held it to my ear, acting like I was using my own hand," what was that?"
"God damn it, Toni. I said I was sorry." Maggie hissed in pain.
"Don't get bitchy with me sweetheart. Remember, you walzted into my gym acting like a spoiled little brat...." I smiled as she whimpered in pain. I let go of her wrist and pushed her down, she was on her stomach grasping her probably dislocated wrist.
"You shouldn't even worry about fighting because you never win anyways... Now," I stood up and brushed myself off," I suggest you go get that looked at. It looks broken." I smiled like a fake girl would as she glared at me, hatred filling her eyes.
"Fuck you." She spat, though her pain made her sound weak and out of breath.
I laughed at her and kneeled back down. I pretend to be sympathetic and pouted.
"Oh, I'm sorry. Do you want me to throw you in a cab, or drag you from the back of my car to get to the hospital?" I couldn't hold a straight face and ended up laughing. Honestly, this game of teasing and pissing off Maggie made me happy; it was fun to take my anger out on someone who actually deserved it.
"I'm sorry," I sighed dramatically and wiped a fake tear after laughing," I couldn't help myself."
"You're such a bi-
I grabbed her by the neck, cutting her off immediately and lifted her so her feet were dangling in the air, I hid the fact that my muscles were screaming at me to let go and rest.
"Though I'd love to hear your insults, I have a life to live-don't worry, it's not something I'd expect you to understand. However," I smiled and tightened my hold on her neck just a bit, watching as she used her good hand to try and loosen my grip," tell anyone that I did this... And you'll regret it, big time." I let go of her suddenly and let her drop, turning and walking to the gym door as she gasped for air.
"C'mon," I whined as she struggled to get up," I've got things to do, people to train."
I watched as she stumbled onto her feet and glared at me as she stomped through the door and out of my gym.
"Good riddance." I mumbled under my breath.
I let the door slam shut as I walked towards the boxing dummies. As I walked, I grabbed wrap off of a shelf nearby and started wrapping my hands. When I was done I fished my iPhone 5S out of my pocket and put my headphones in. I hit the play button and my ears were immediately filled with the sound of my favorite band, Bullet For My Valentine. The music genre itself was loud, but the lyrics fueled my emotions in a way that helped me focus them when I trained.
Once I slipped on my boxing gloves, I started hitting the dummy as if it was a real person. I went for kill shots, which were illegal in any type of fight, and sometimes basic hits like jabs. I pictured Maggie's face on the dummy as I worked out my anger towards her, punching the dummy in the face as I would've if I hadn't controlled myself- though one would argue that breaking her wrist was a bit much. I laughed at what people would think when they heard what I did, but laughed even harder when I remembered the look of fear in Maggie's eyes when I told her not to tell.
I was about to roundhouse kick the dummy with my right leg when my left leg gave out and I fell. When I hit the ground I landed on it wrong and I heard my knee pop. The second I heard the pop my entire body was washed over in pain. I cried out and squeezed my knee with both hands, trying to calm the pain. I was all alone and nobody was in the room to help so I did the first thing that came to mind....
I rolled over onto my stomache and used my upper body to push myself up and my right leg to stand. As I stood a little weight went on my left leg and I winced. I slowly hopped on my good leg and over to the door, which took so much effort to open.
With a huge shove it opened, but I lost balance and immediately fell on my face. I landed partially on my left leg again and my entire body shook in pain. I cried out as I tried to move and bit my tongue, holding in tears. I blinked a few times and took deep breaths as I looked around, for any sign of help. The only thing I saw was Dan's office and, even though I was holding a grudge, I really needed his help.
"Dan!!!! Please help me!!" I yelled.
"Dan!!!! Please help me!!" I heard someone yell.
"Did you hear that?" Harry asked.
I saw Liam's eyes widen as he shot up from his seat and ran for the door. When he opened it I heard him gasp.
"Toni!!" He cried, causing us all to jump up and run to see what happened.
I was the first to get out of the room and I dropped to me knees when I saw Toni struggling on the floor.
"Toni!! What happened?!" I demanded, worried by the amount of pain I saw in her eyes. The boys knelt down and assisted in helping her up. She jolted back when she swayed to the left and immediately lifted her leg up.
"I was training and when I tried to do a roundhouse my leg gave out and I must've landed on it wrong." Toni shook her head and sighed.
"The second I hit the ground I heard something pop. I got up slowly and pushed out of the gym...but I lost my balance and fell back down again."
"You should've just called for us the first time you fell." Liam said as he held her arm over his shoulders, supporting her weight on the left side.
"You shouldn't have even tried to walk..." Harry added.
"Yeah, you've probably made it worse." Zayn agreed.
"I don't give a shit about my fucking leg!!" She exploded causing us all to flinch back.
"But you're obviously in pain." I spoke up.
"The only thing I care about is getting it fixed so I can continue training. I cannot just back out of my finale." Toni scoffed.
They all looked at her with shocked expressions where I started boiling with anger.
"THAT'S IT!!!!" I burst.
I shooed the others away, except for Liam, and got in Toni's face.
"You aren't even going to fight after your little stunt with Maggie," I saw her look of shock," yeah her brother called and demanded you be disqualified. You are done, Toni; DONE. No more boxing and that's final." I scolded.
"You can't do that! You're not my father!" She yelled.
"Your father would've cut you off long ago and you know it! Don't you see?! You're killing yourself everytime you try to fight against your own pain! This is just a recent example of how you are so inconsiderate when it comes to your own health.... You will go to the hospital and get checked out. After that you will not step foot in this gym unless it's to work behind the desk, got it?" I demanded.
Toni's eyes were lit with pure hatred as she glared at me, I could practically see the flames of hell blazing in her eyes. I did my best to ignore it though, not letting her anger shrink me down.
"Come on Toni," Liam smiled lightly at her," I'll take you to the hospital."
Toni turned to look at Liam, her look softening when she saw his smile. I saw her nod once before turning back to face me.
"Fine...let's go." She mumbled, leaning on Liam for support.
