The playoff game came quicker than any of us thought it would, but I know that all of Tree Hill would be there to support the Ravens. Sabrina and I were going to go to the game together. We both agreed that we haven’t been spending enough time together, but that after tonight, we would start trying to. The game was pretty intense, considering that the Ravens were getting beat. They were up by 2 a few seconds before half-time, but that changed when Lucas hit a three, and put the Ravens up by 5 going in to half-time. The crowd was going wild, but that changed when some asshole from Masonboro bumped Lucas in his bad shoulder. Lucas went down, the team started, well, trying to fight, and I just ran out on the court to Lucas.
“Are you ok, Luke?” I asked as I bent down next to him.
“It hurts Kris.” Lucas hissed out.
I slowly helped Lucas up, and helped him to the locker room. I was thankful for Sabrina because she made sure that I didn’t do anything stupid. She knew how protective of Lucas I was, and she knew that I would hurt anyone who hurt him. After I got him to the locker room, Nathan told me that he had Lucas, so I went back to my seat, and leaned on Momma Karen.
“He’s going to be ok sweetie.” Momma Karen told me as she hugged me from the side.
“I know Momma.” I said back with a small smile.
Both teams came back out on the court, and Lucas was still playing. I was shocked to say the least, but I knew that he knew what he was doing. The game was getting better, but the Ravens were down by 2, with under a minute left in the game. With only 5 seconds left, Lucas and Nathan teamed up to try to make a 3-point shot, but the shot was a little short. I felt bad for the team, but even worse because I realized that Lucas would be leaving soon. Sabrina drove me home, and Nathan came over not too long after she left.
“I’m sorry about the game.” I said as we sat in my room.
“Thanks, but I don’t have any regrets about it.” Nathan said back, and that made me smile.
We talked for a little while longer, but that turned into us making out, and I believe you guys know where that led us. My night was magical, and yes, we did use protection. I woke up the next morning with a huge smile on my face.
“Do you have any regrets?” Nathan asked and I knew exactly what he meant.
“Nope. No regrets at all.” I replied with a smile.
I decided to go cook us something to eat, so I slipped back on my pajamas, and headed to the kitchen, with Nathan following close behind. I was almost done with breakfast, when there was a knock on the door. I went to answer it, and saw that it was Lucas. I let him in, and I think he was a little shocked to see Nathan, shirtless, in my house.
“I just stopped by to say good-bye, but I think I’m going to go.” Lucas said uncomfortably.
“Lucas, please don’t do this.” I whispered to him as I lightly grabbed his wrist.
“Don’t do what, Kris? I thought you said that you were going to wait, like Haley?” Lucas questioned.
“I didn’t say anything about waiting. What I did say was that I wasn’t going to give it to some guy, but I was going to give it to someone that I love.” I replied.
Lucas didn’t say anything, but hug me, and then left. I was so upset by that, that I just fell to the floor in tears. My best friend was mad at me, and that was the worst pain that I could ever feel. Nathan came over to me, hugged me tight, and told me that everything would be ok. I just hope that he was telling the truth.
